Lol i know right. He's offering full refunds now but you have to wait 6-8 weeks to get them. Pathetic.

New update on FB from PMC.

Scary to think I almost didn't go. From what I heard too, some people who ordered prior to the price change actually ended up with more figures than they paid for on their invoice. One guy I spoke to, paid for 1 and walked away with 5. I wonder if that had an effect on why they thought they had more stock than they actually had?

Perhaps that was a blag, not sure but maybe it's worth PMC going through invoices to see what people paid for and what their invoices allowed them to obtain at the con to see if the error is there?

So they knew going into this that the figure was NOT going to be exclusive and they still called it that? That is some bullshit.
To be fair though, they said the same about psycho silver for EE and he ended up being sold everywhere.

But this Drakkon stuff is the messiest relase yet.

I didn't realize that Psycho Silver was on Amazon! Just snagged it for $52! This is really awesome, but I can't believe that the first Psycho Ranger I'll be owning will be the Silver one, who isn't even a real character and has maybe three minutes of screen time. Still pretty awesome!

honestly, at this point I expect him to file for bankruptcy and walk away from any responsibility

news gets worse and worse with each follow-up post, so I think it's only a matter of time before the whole thing blows up

i cannot foresee how those express conventions could possibly go forward given the debacle over this situation...true he won't have any official merchandise to hawk for those but the way I see it his cash-flow isn't going to be enough to cover all the people who were wronged and be able to setup and run the next cons

plus Hasbro is probably looking at all this and probably advising others not to be associated with this...talent can always demand payment up front and ignore any warnings, but I figure Hasbro can offer so much more (in terms of payment and treatment)

Business wise I'd expect some delay as finances are tricky. They still have be sorting through sales. Because they sold items, they still need to pay taxes and what not even with a refund.

They did sell every unit, the problem for them is if they were dependent on those preorders. Otherwise, it's not a profit but it's also not a loss.

The real issue is next year, how many people are going to buy a higher tier after this debacle?

Hasbro?

Unless they are planning on running their own Power Ranger themed convention , I don't see them blacklisting PMC without something more than a screwed up purchase. Hasbro hasn't really had a chance to get the lay of the land though this certainly isn't their first rodeo.

After hearing that weekend passes were $25 cheaper at the door with NO line, Who would bother preordering at all? And all the "exclusive" items were also available to anyone that wanted them, also with an almost non-existent line to buy them. So in reality all preordering got you was the privilege to stand in multiple hours long lines.

As opposed to the 5(+1) who they just made up on the tv show?

PMC tarnished the reputation for Gold and Platinum. PMC 2 taught me to stick to Red passes and below, before it got as bad as this year.

Nothing it was just my first time going so I didn't know that having a gold badge isn't necessary at all. I have had a red badge both times since and had just as fine an experience.

I would be surprised if this was the last PMC, however I wouldn't be surprised if Hasbro decides not to do the cast reveal or have a booth/exclusives there anymore.

Hasbro won't care about this. It's a first occasion for a pretty successful con otherwise.
Why would they decide not to make the cast announcements with pmc? What else will they do? A pretty boring casting press release? Pmc is about as high profile as it gets for the Power Rangers fandom.

That said, I think the question about whether they will or will not carry out other main Power Morphicon's will all come down to how Scott feels about hosting these in the future after all this. I wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to walk away but he's always been pretty strong willed before to carry on so fair enough.

With JDF putting his name to the Express con's though, I can see planning for those being a lot tighter as he's not gonna want to put his name to something that would bring him into disrepute.

From what I can tell though, I reckon a fair amount of people will keep their memberships just to attempt to get 1 Drakkon from them and others will trade the Drakkon for another item. I think it will only be a smaller percentage of people who decide to go full refund.
And because of that, I don't think PMC will loose much out of this and will indeed carry on.

Hasbro shut down Botcon. Why wouldn't they shut down Power Morphicon?

I'm not sure they could just shut it down, they could buy it from Zillner and THEN shut it down though. Or just pull all support and let it die on it's own.
