Basic figures are 6 inches...
Wonder what the differences will be?

I imagine differences will be like the Marvel Toys. The regular line is also around 6 inches, less articulation and shoddier paint job as with the basic line of Infinity War figures. Lightning Collection will be akin to the Marvel Legends with more detail and articulation.

Yeah, that’s looking more and more likely... which is a bummer considering I was hoping for them to see what Bandai did right and continue, at least to an extent, going that way.

Although, who knows. They could blow us away with something new.

Honestly, if they put out the current team Lightning Line in a reasonable time frame, then I don't care what the basic line looks like. And by current, I mean villains too. If the only Evox figure Imma have is a shoddy one then Imma be pissed.

I honestly wouldn’t have an issue with it if Hasbro just gave their basic figures better leg joints. The arms have ball joints on the shoulders, why they didn’t spring for the same on the legs I have no idea.

The legs have baffled me for quite some time.

We’ll see what they do, maybe we’ll be pleasantly surprised.

consider me impressed they're tackling this problem (giant alien dog head on human-sized body) right out of the gate rather than waiting to get a feel for what works in the line...

of course if he doesn't come with the alternate head people will cry foul...
Easiest one to tackle...the doggie head and uniform will fit over the body like in the old days

I just wonder what the quality would be like. I know everyone is on the hasbro is 100% perfect train right now, but just like how bandai had a rocky start with the legacy line, hasbro had a rocky start with the marvel legends too.

Not to mention the people that make Marvel Legends aren't necessarily working on the Ranger figures. However the Prototype does look promising so I'm sure they're assuming it's all going to be top quality. sadly ive already though about how in 3 years people will want early figures redone with the newer articulation or whatever newer technology exists then. thats the nature of toys. they are always evolving.

I've been watching Star Wars Black Series video reviews to try to get a taste for what Hasbro can do. Considering PR figures are simpler (and they can use the same mold for the body on several figures in a team) I am genuinely excited for what I hope will be an amazing new frontier for PR figures. Beyond this first wave and MMPR, I'm curious what other figures people really want? I hope to get more SPD, but I think Mesagog would be an excellent figure to make (as Bandai released the Legacy figures and Hasbro would be smart to capitalize on the villains for those teams). Also fan favorites like Jen (TF Pink) and RPM figures would be amazing.

But Hasbro has the know how now. The rocky starts make sense--you're figuring out how to do collector level stuff at a decent, retail price and make it better than the last company that was doing it. But ignoring Legends and looking at the Black Series, the human characters have had it rough, but the aliens and the armored/masked characters/droids have come out pretty damn awesome/better than some alternatives (K2SO's Black Series is better than any import imo). I get the expecting the worst mentality, I'm all about that, but I think we are off to a good start.

I just hope they don't pack these guys like they do with the Marvel Legends. Please make them vanilla posed in the boxes so we don't get warped limbs and the like.

It always pleases me to see people acknowledge great teams like RPM
, but still put Jen above her own great team because she's that awesome

Damn, popped in on a whim and there's actual news. Shadow Ranger has got to be the biggest, and best surprise for the Lightning collection starting off. I'm not a fan of LG, so don't really care for Magna but for the fans that's also a cool one. And Tyler as well for something more recent is a nice touch. Wouldn't be my personal pick for a DC character(Kendall definitely), but I'll probably be trying to get the whole first wave minus Magna if I can afford it. Definitely Shadow at least.

And looks like they're really putting it all out there with BM stuff. Masks, obviously accessory weapons, blind bags, and it seemed like plush zords too? Man, gonna be nuts I feel once this starts rolling out if Hasbro can actually deliver.

Ah crap, more importantly, I want to see how they do the skirts. Anything would be better than what the Legacy Collection did but, I wonder if they could do something better than figuarts/what bandai did with the 5 in line for Ninja Steel

Yes, he got an action hero figure, it was just very hard to find for some.

This is exactly what I was afraid of.

The Infinity War toys look like shit.

What! really? I didn't collect any DinoCharge toys, so I wouldn't know....but I thought Albert was hilarious and a fun way to shake up Power Rangers...sadly he didn't last too long

Yeah, it was a really rare release. It also sadly didn't make it outside of the US (I believe) so that really bummed me out because I really liked that design...
