Remember that case ratios aren't just based on perceived popularity, but the cost to produce the figures.

MMPR White may be largely 3/case due to the MMPR/Tommy popularity, but the complexity of Lord Zedd making him 1/case certainly doesn't hurt.

And if the post on Entertainment Earth is to be believed, Zedd may get another run, with dedicated Zedd cases. That economy of scale could help balance some of his more involved manufacturing.

I'm seeing the same thing as you Taichi, Tommy is shelfwarming. Over the weekend I took a trip to Toronto, I got a very different story about White selling through faster. However, that surge of Tommy buyers doesn't seem to impact later shipments. In my experience, every store which restocks Lightning has Tommy shelfwarming.

There just isn't a groundswell of demand for more Tommy, and it's not drawing new consumers out. Anyone interested by a Tommy figure was interested in Legacy, too.

There are exactly zero Power Rangers customers in 2019 who want Tommy merch, but can't find Tommy merch.

Are these poorly painted figures?

Amazon seems to have gotten a steady supply of Zedd's. I got mine off there about a week ago. Good on the paint but one of his chest tubes is bent out of shape.

White ranger aint season 1 and they packed too many.

When bandai did a case reset for legacy figures at gamestop before the contract collapsed, Green ranger was constantly sold out. White ranger however was always shelfwarming. Hell, even the sh figuarts white ranger is usually on sale as compared to green.

No doubt that Tommy moves merch, but its mostly because of his stint in season 1.

This is what happened with the legacy zords. The season 1 shit moved fine, but when they moved past that things slowed down.

Though you could argue the $200 price tag didn't help. Also being located only at Toysrus for a long while may not have helped either. You'd have to physically go to the store vs just ordering online until months after then arbitrary release.

Most of the figures shelfwarming in my area are MMPR white and DC Red. I see at least 2 of each per store I visit.

But there is no doubt in my mind these figures will eventually sell. Reasons being #1- the Red Ranger rule* and #2 Tommy is Tommy.

(*Red Rangers always sell regardless of season. A random parent who knows nothing of Power Rangers usually picks up a red for their kid, as it's the most popular Ranger color. That and Red is almost always leader.)

Amazon has Zedd in stock and the other 3 for under $16

I think the helmet looks better in these new pics.

They did totally slaughter the belt buckles on MMPR though.

That confirms what I suspected in the boxed image- they've got Gold Rangers helmet wrong. The visor section isnt suppose to be pronounced from the helmet like that, it should be completely flush with the round of the helmet. The only "ridges" should really be at the top.

Ugh I know! I am so annoyed by this. Especially because Dino Charge has a bulky buckle and it looks just fine.

I am glad Bandai released that gratuitous metallic legacy line so I can cut the morphers off and apply to these.

Well, you're not wrong.

I suppose with the fuss over MMPR Red's helmet and the Gold helmet only being shown straight-on in previous images, not many people noticed those issues until now. I wonder how easy it would be to cannibalize a Legacy Gold Ranger and fit his head onto the Lightning body.

Legacy Gold head is too big for a regular height Lightning body. Might be better off with Super Legends' helmet.

Yeah, that red ranger helmet is still awful. (Even now, the visor looks more like a sad attempt at the green ranger's visor, which shows how wrong it is) and what was just mentioned about Gold...Hasbro, what are you doing?

Mmmm... Eh... I can live with the helmets. It's those faces! The faces themselves look OK, the bodies look OK. Together? Well... I guess it all depends on the posing. Those poses do no good for the faces. Smiling Jason says to me: "Hey! Lookit me! I'm a suit actor!" While grimacing Jason says : "Eh. I'll give that Cog a little punch!"

If I get these two, smiling Jason will use Tommy's chopping hand just so he can wave hello!

Oh god, now I'm going to HAVE to get these to make a video.

"Hi, I'm Jason, the Red Ranger. You may know me for battling giant monsters and saving the planet, but today I'm here to talk to you about this exciting new product from Ronco!"

That Red Ranger helmet just reminds me specifically of these reboot movie masks.

The toys are fine...

But those Jason heads are hideous. Trash-worthy if you ask me.

As I've said earlier. The MMPR Red helmet is a perspective nightmare. To get an accurate reference you need helmet pics at various tilts. At one angle its an oval like the movie version posted here. At other points its a circle in a front profile.

The original movie design looks strange for that same issue. Not that is has a weird perspective but that it's a consistent perspective. So we got a fatter red ranger helmet but perspective wise there are no surprise angles. The other helmets have a similar issue. If you look at the sentai designs since Zyuranger. We don't see helmet design complexity like that for a long time(if ever again). The helmets since then had less curvature. It's like with Dairanger they went "Yep that's the standard".
