back to what I originally said, Amy Jo Johnson and Frank Welker have 2 things in common. They are both new to attending conventions, Amy made her first in 2014, Frank made his first in 2015, and so far, neither of them have made a Convention appearance in California or the West Coast yet, but Amy has made more Convention appearences than Frank Welker has so far. So looks like i'll have go to out of state again if I want to meet Frank someday, had to fly out of state just to meet Amy Jo(met her this year, back in April, in Texas) and it was very well worth it.

I know that using 2 celebrities as an example is not enough, but I wonder if it is a trend for celebs who are new to attending conventions, to avoid California/West Coast conventions at first.

I would have flown to HasCon earlier this year just to meet Frank Welker but sadly that was all the way on the East Coast, and making 2 out of state convention flights in one year is too pricey, gotta save up, and I had more going for me at the time as well.

Has there been any word on Hotel’s yet? As I’d be flying out internationally I was waiting for Hotel information before signing up. :/
No word, but hotels are plentiful around the Anaheim Convention Center. You probably should've signed up already.

And anybody thinking asking such and such at WhateverCon if they're going to PMC, maybe hold your horses and leave the guest stuff to Scott. When they know, we'll know.

People are waiting for discounted group rates and a lot of hotels don't even book rooms this far in advance.

Who knows, but it's way too early to announce guests because if something comes up and they have to cancel people go nuts.

Agreed. I wouldn't be one of those people. Stuff happens. But people lose their minds. There is a small con near me that had a major guest booked and that guest cancelled. People boycotted the con and didn't go. It's still going next year but I thought it would kill the con for sure.

for the last couple of Morphicons, were the guests not announced until the year of the event itself?

Generally yes, early in the year starts the announcements and they do it in waves of 3-5 usually.

It would also be very nice if some of the cast from the new movie attended Morphicon as well

I would imagine they would. They're a very important part of the franchise

They are both high profile but it would be awesome to have Elizabeth Banks and Bryan Cranston at PMC.

I know it's gonna be a while before we hear anything re: hotels, but I'm just looking forward to being able to really plan this trip.

I hear ya Rito. It'll be my son's first time flying and I'm hoping to find some nice stuff out there to do.

Went to my first out of state convention earlier this year back in the spring, first time flying solo as well, was very well worth it.

Oh, flying and out of state cons are nothing new. Doing so with a will-be 16 month old boy will be.

A heads up to those flying, google flights is already able to monitor the time around the con. Put in your desired flight and sign up for alerts. I've already gotten some that the price has gone up (boo). It may help you land a deal if you have the patience.

While I'm not going to Morphicon, if I can find some airline error and snag a ticket cheap it may be possible as it's the biggest cost. I'm sure I'm not the only one.
