Its animated, its 99.99999% animation. It doesnt get to be labled live action at all. Wall-e has more live action than this movie.
It has a live action aesthetic. It's the look they're going for with the film, hence why it's easier to lump it in with all the other live action adaptations. Just let it go, it's not hurting anybody.

Your example doesn't entirely count when all of the liveaction in Wall-E comes from footage of another film, I think.

Calling it live action is factually wrong, it's animated.

Jon Favreau said the reason why James Earl Jones wasn't at the premiere or featured in the cast photo is because he lives on the East Coast and he doesn't travel around as much anymore. His participation was geared more towards his performance.

Don't worry, James Earl Jones is fine, says 'Lion King' director Jon Favreau

It's so sad speculation has become initial fact in our society.

Here are the new versions of the iconic songs that most of us first heard 25 years ago.

"Circle of Life/Nants' Ingonyama"

"Hakuna Matata"

"Can You Feel the Love Tonight"

"I Just Can't Wait to Be King"

Chiwetel Ejiofor - "Be Prepared"

Christ, Hakuna Matata is ROUGH. Eichner is just repeating the lines without any of the gusto, and Seth Rogen wasn't kidding when he said he couldn't sing. It's like he's not even trying to sing, just talking louder.

And I'm super angry they told me they changed their mind on Be Prepared and then bait-and-switched. ;__;

Not talking about the footage walle watches on the tv. They had Fred Willard shoot for their own character. He represented humans as they were supposed to be, before they got all fat and baby like.

Plus, here is the new song "Never Too Late" performed by Elton John. This kind of reminds me of when Disney brought back Celine Dion to sing "How Does a Moment Last Forever" in the new Beauty and the Beast film after performing the title song in the original film. I obviously do know that Elton John also wrote the music for the original film in addition to singing cover versions the songs as well.

Also here's "He Lives in You", but it's sung in a different language.

Well, it's... different. I don't hate it. I like parts of it. But in some places, I gotta agree with Primo, it's rough.

The ending was funny, though.

But does it matter that it's wrong? People use the term "Ameritoku" to specifically refer to English-language Henshin Hero adaptations even though the term actually encompasses a lot more than that, but it doesn't matter because it's a widely understood term of categorization that people understand even if it isn't correct.

But it's such a small thing to nitpick when this movie is gonna be put in the same category as all the live action Disney remakes anyway.

Ooh. At 58% on rotten tomatoes

https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/the_lion_king_2019

The consensus so far that it's soulless and the emotionless Lions are a big problem. I still think it will make money despite the critics slamming it.

Hakuna Matata is definitely kind of different. It's more...spoken than sung like the original. Not bad exactly, in terms of the style but at the same time, there's moments where Timon sings more and so yeah it comes off a bit odd. And yeah, I love Rogan but he shouldn't try singing. When he just speaks the lines like a performance piece it's fine, but there're moments he tries to sing it and yeah. Oh and the kid or whomever doing Young Simba...just wasn't good there AT ALL. Man I was happy to hear Donald Glover, he could sing at least.

Be Prepared is also more of a spoken piece than a song performance. It's not bad, but in that case I could've just listened to Chiwetel do menacing dialogue. He at least sounds like he'll be threatening in the movie which is good.

"Can You Feel the Love Tonight" was okay. I mean Glover can sing, and obviously Beyoncé can. I'm not a fan of hers, but wont deny she can sing so there's that. But yeah, it's fine though Beyoncé dominates the song and it still comes off as...I don't know a bit lacking or just...I don't know. I'd rather go back and listen to the original.

"...Be King" wasn't as bad as I thought, given how much I disliked Young Simba in Hakuna Matata. But yeah...I don't know if it's honestly bias or not. I just feel something is lacking. It's not bad though really, and I'm sure the number looks fun(though maybe weird given the realism).

Why do people act like that website matters? More often than not when the movie actually comes out the audience score is much higher. Just look at Godzilla KOTM!

Its not about the website, the website isn't the one writing the reviews, its the critics and the audiences. Its about general consensus. If that doesn't matter to you, cool. But its a good way to gauge overall reaction to any movie.

Its so weird to me that they recycled audio for the first part of circle of life. Like, yeah, you're not gonna top it, but if you're gonna redo it, freaking redo it. This one foot in one foot out doesnt really do it any favors.

Oh shit... They do get one gold star from me. After Lebo M's part in Circle of Life the rest of the song is sung by Lindiwe Mkhize who performed the killer version of He Lives In You with the London Cast of the show I posted above. Get it girl!!

...and KotM was the worst financially performing movie out of all of the Monsterverse movies.

High score doesn't mean much if not a lot of people saw it.

damn, hopefully it doesn't affect it's box-office performance, still would like to see it surpass Beauty and the Beast from 2017
