So excited then got three words into that sentence and I felt utter sadness enter my entire being. Though I'm still excited and have been waiting for this since the Movie revival began.

Muppets Tonight was good, man.

I think now is a much better time for it, though. We've grown up enough to where our ratings truly count for something.

1: Considering Muppets Tonight, I honestly wish they would bring this to cable or someplace that has less expectation. Probably one of the greatest things about the original Muppet Show was that it was straight to syndication in the US (it was a network show for Britain) and thus it could build its audience without the "do it or die" mentality of the networks.

2: I still want my Muppet Show Seasons 4 and 5 DVDs!

Well it's about time. While I enjoyed the "the muppets", most wanted didn't really do much for me. I was never really into their theatrical stuff in general, their a much better fit for a tv, so a new muppet show sounds great. I just hope the writing is good, I hate what I've seen of Big Bang theory.

The sex jokes are more than likely Lorre mandates, Prady's the science guy. And Sheldon already acts pretty much like a Muppet.

If you wanna get technical, he is a muppet.

^ If you really wanna get technical, he's a muppet's imaginary human manifestation of himself.

I'm totally up for this. I've been watching classic episodes of the original series online and they are very entertaining. Plus, if this happens I cannot wait to see the Muppets interact with celebrities. It'll be fun to see Miss Piggy get jealous of female celebrities doing scenes with Kermit.

yo, please. I recently have been loving the muppets style of comedy. I would love one in the modern day to watch.

The show is apparently going to focus on the personal lives of the characters. It will have more of an adult theme.

I...don't think I like that idea. I just want funny muppet show skits, nothing that takes itself too seriously. I don't need the office with muppets.

Them performing the Muppet Show is their personal life.

This would be a fine idea, if it were doing in the 30 rock vein. Kermit as Liz Lemon, trying his damndest to keep his insane cast on point long enough to actually make an episode of their show. Miss Piggy in the Jenna role, obviously. Scooter as Pete, Walter as Kenneth, Gonzo as Judah Friedlander... 30 Rock was just the Muppets with people!

I'm still on the fence about the Big Bang guy but this twist in the story makes me even more nervous.

I've never been much of a fan of 30 Rock, The Office, or Modern Family but this format could suit the Muppets well... provided the writing staff doesn't try to change the Muppet style of comedy too much.

I'd really like it to keep the variety show angle at least a little - the sketches and guest stars were always so much fun.

Wait, they're aiming the show at us?

I'm not sure that's the best move. We've proven we'll watch anything, you need the next gen to invest in these guys now. And how many variety shows do we have these days? SNL, Key & Peele, Amy Schumer--and Amy Schumer's mostly crude humor.

We confirmed this back with the Muppet Liz hallucination.

This sounds really interesting. Even though they're aiming it at adults I doubt the tone would be serious at all. I would imagine it would be more satirical of these documentary-style shows but kids would still enjoy seeing the daily lives of their favorite muppets.
