I take it the 'event film' is their Justice League. 2018 seems like a more reasonable goal, though I'm not sure about 3 movies that year, they'd have to be good ones. With Sony, Fox, Marvel and DC all churning out movies, there's only so much money to go around.

I think "WB Event Film" means a television movie. If the previous rumors had any truth to them, that's probably the Flash/Green Lantern team-up.

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if some of these just don't happen. It feels like they're trying to jump to Marvel's current level with none of the practice or build-up. This kind of overreaching can backfire nastily.

Planning going on aside leaving fans in the cold from 2013 to 2016 seems like nothing more than a waste of time.

Looks like batman vs superman is bumped up to march 2016, now if we could only get a push to August 2015 I'd be happy.

No. We don't need this movie to be rushed. People are already weary as hell about it, rushing it will only hurt it.

Except they're already having a team-up this year.

i aint trying to get excited for a bunch of untitled movies. I need to know what DC hero is having their own film and being made by who. At this point, we all know that DC is trying to catch up to their rival Marvel Studios. They seriously need to make their heroes look legit because right now, only the general public take Batman and Superman seriously.

I feel sorry for whoever *is* trying.

I gather you mean to say the general public only take Batman and Superman seriously, as the other way around unintentionally implies that comic book fans don't take them seriously. Which is still charmingly accurate.

Has anyone just taken a step back and looked at BVS?

They're introducing all these heroes in ONE film. Sure, I'LL know who that woman in golden armor is but alot of people won't. There's a right way and a wrong way to build up a universe and DC is doing it wrong. Just the fact they're trying to cram as many heroes as they can into this film just sets off red flags for me. Cause at the time of this post they've only done Superman and even then he wasn't done particularly WELL, just trying to emulate The Dark Knight in it's tone but put that aside.

Marvel did it right. Gave each hero a solo movie with a little tease at the end for The Avengers. The only one not set up was Hawkeye and we at least got introduced to him in the opening of the movie. In MY eyes, DC is trying so hard to catch up that honestly it looks more like a fish flopping around on land. Can they make a comeback? I hope so but for me, it's good time to be a fan of Marvel. I want good, quality movies and not slapped together ones just to say they've done that character. Do them justice and respect the source material.

We don't know HOW they're being used. I get what you mean, if they try to establish and throw in everyone, it'll be a mess. But there are many smart ways to play it. There's a rumor we'll see the Flash stop a bank robbery or something, and just see a red blur deal with people. You can go that route easily while giving the titular two the main parts of the movie with a little Wonder Woman thrown in as well, however they see fit to use her.

Hell, I wouldn't be surprised to just see glimpses of the other members. If they're indeed filming this and Justice League back to back (is that confirmed yet?), it makes sense to have everyone around. It doesn't mean they're all getting big parts in the movie.

I wonder what the August 2016 movie is. Flash, perhaps? Although, there's already a TV series so maybe they'll go with someone else.

Um, the 'Untitled Event' movies for November 2018 and November 2020 are likely the follow-ups to Fantastic Beasts & Where to Find Them, the Harry Potter spinoff.

Holy shit, they're incorporating Harry Potter into the DCCU?

BvS is clearly set-up like this:
-Equal "main" type roles for Batman and Superman
-An Iron Man 2 Black Widow "supporting" type role for Wonder Woman (a little more meat than just being relegated to a cameo)
-Cameos for Aquaman, Cyborg, and all the other relevant JL characters that they intend to squeeze into BvS. At least the first two (except for Aquaman being unofficially) are confirmed.

The cameos shouldn't be a problem if they're the equivalent of the Hawkeye cameo in Thor 1. Just a quick establishing shot or scene to let the audience know that these characters exist, if only briefly.

Now while WB/DC does not need to do what Marvel did and have solo films > Justice League, it wouldn't have hurt to have at least one or two after Man of Steel. Having more solo films could make way for spreading out plot elements/universe-building/character introductions rather than putting them all into one movie. As the follow-up to MoS, this is what BvS has to set out to do:

-Continue Superman's story from Man of Steel with his supporting cast, introducing a "new villain" in Lex Luthor and new conflicts (such as the ramifications of the battle at Metropolis)
-Introduce Batman and Wonder Woman, both having roles to play in the movie (Batman more significantly than Wonder Woman). We know Batman will have a fight with Superman, Dark Knight Returns style
-Establish there's a shared universe wherein Superman's world has all these other DC characters in it, some in cameo roles
-Assuming Justice League does indeed follow BvS, set up or leave unresolved plot points that lead into JL

There's a lot that BvS is setting out to accomplish all in one movie. They'll have to make it work if DC were to continue with a flourishing movie universe.

Let me clarify. Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, the HP prequel, comes out November 2016. The fact that the November 2018 and 2020 dates say 'Untitled Event Film' isn't too hard to figure out those are sequels to that film, rather than DC films.

I read it has already been reported that the two event films are not DC Comics related.

No, all the dates announced are for DC films. Harry Potter is not from DC, therefore, these events films have nothing to do with Harry Potter.

They're not listed as DC films though.
