Somehow I always imagined Xanatos to be younger, early to mid thirties tops.

What about Nicholas Hoult for Xanatos?

Zoe Saldana as Eliza

Charles Dance as Macbeth

Katee Sackhoff as Fox

I'm not even bothering thinking about the Gargoyles, just get the original voice cast back for all of them.

Have you been paying attention?

Disney has no intention of making this un-sacred right now.

Oh i know they're not, i just mean the general fact of it being pitched to them got under my skin a little.

I understand nostalgia and wanting to do rehash things for the new generation whilst cashing in on the old generation, but not everything in life has to be re-done or thought about in such a light.

But the fact that Gargoyles is the best work Disney ever commissioned and it gets no spotlight whatsoever is a god damn shame.

A live action movie would be a disaster. If Gargoyles is ever touched again, (and it seems Disney doesn't want to) they're best to make a new cartoon show.

Still, a bluray release would be nice of the original.

I don't know, applying the screenwriting of an Underworld franchise with the makeup and effects of a Hellboy franchise would give a Gargoyles live-action movie at least cult classic promise.

Eh, Hoult doesn’t really have that aura that Xanatos has. Plus I picture someone darker playing him.

My comment is more inline with the assumption that the movie would end up getting handled poorly, and then not marketed enough to bring in the numbers it would need to be deemed "successful". I agree though, it would be great to see a movie with the aesthetics and style you'd see in Hellboy. Once you said that, I was able to visualize a Gargoyles movie more readily in my mind.

But haven't we all decided that to be true for every movie not beginning with the words "Pixar" or "Marvel"?

That is the truth of our world.

Actually, the last movie I think that I saw that wasn't one of those.... is game night.

I wouldn't say the best, but yeah. Disney always seemed to treat it as a red headed stepchild. Odd considering they own Marvel now, you would think they would be more open to it.

For some reason I could picture JDF as Xanatos. Latham Gaines or Malcolm McDowell
I mean Xanatos is totally McDowell's MO, he could easily fit the bill.

And if they ever went through with a live action(or even new animated) Gargoyles, they really should get Keith David back. I mean if Peter Cullen can continue doing the voice of Optimus, David can do Goliath(if he wants to). Anyways in a live action Goliath would be motion capture, and they could do that with someone else while David did the voice.

Oh well, if Disney actually allowed this to happen it could be a lot of fun. Though I wouldn't have thought Peele as jumping for it but hey, why not.

It seems like outside of the Ducktales reboot (and Darkwing Duck appearance) Disney doesn't seem to want to show any love to the Disney Afternoon era. Everything from Gummi Bears to Gargoyles, Disney just seems to want to forget.

A cameo by Salli Richardson-Whitfield or Laura San Giacomo would be nice. 20 years ago they could've just been Elisa and Fox, but oh well.

^

A young Halle Berry would have probably taken on the role if offered it.
