The Official Internet Personality Thread: Now with even more Mod Sceneless Reviews

Hey a new long running thread that I've taken part in for a good while.
So here you go New thread, same old.

So yeah, lioke I was saying in the previous thread, at the close of Linkara's Sensational Spider-Man#0 review, he said he'd never be done with the Clone Saga due to the abundance of material for it, and name dropped the recent sequel Clone Conspiracy, which means he could be open to reviewing post-OMD Spider-Man material again (I'm aware he co-reviewed 2010's "One Moment In Time" a few years ago which preceded his own OMD review, but that was for someone else's channel), he'll probably take his time before he brings himself to that point, but it sounds promising.

He also name dropped 2009's Real Clone Saga, the "Disney Ending" version of the Saga (which can sort of also be interpreted as a nice backdoor finale for the whole Spider-Man series), I'm looking forward to him covering that someday.

Linkara October 28th, 2017 02:50 PM

I'm perfectly open to reviewing post-OMD material. Hell, I've read plenty of it. I'm just not actively BUYING it. Any issues I get are going to be heavily discounted and from third-party sellers long after Marvel would have received any money for it.

But yeah, I have plenty of clone material to go by, though it's going to be a looooong while before I get to that, since there's still plenty in the Clone Saga itself. =)

I feel that way of any Marvel past Secret Wars (the new one). Heck I have very little Marvel material past the first Civil War.

so is this thread for just Channel Awesome or any internet personalities?

Xalfrea October 28th, 2017 08:43 PM

By this point its hard to keep track. I think this is really just for any internet personalities in general, especially since by now it's shown that Channel Awesome isn't the be all-end all when it comes to producing quality online content. There are the exceptions though of course, like the AVGN thread, and the HOPR thread for the main HOPR related stuff and/or any PR/Toku material that Linkara does.

The revelation of post-OMD stuff being on the show being up for grabs is surprising to me considering the embargo, and it does make me hope that some reviews or Patreon stuff will be able to do them. Like it would be neat to see Superior Spider-Man or Spider-Verse be the subject of a review.

As for the subject of Marvel comics and the lackthereof for some, in my case it's a combination of lack of time/money/interest. There's plenty of stuff I really do want to actively read and buy such as the Miles Morales' stories, but I just can't commit to it. Heck even with the three books I already get regularly (Ms. Marvel, Champions, Secret Warriors), my wallet already takes massive hits.

Well, the thing to remember is that Patreon requests DO have a limit. Superior Spider-Man lasted 33 issues for a year and a half. I'm not going to do the FULL thing in a review.

TuxedoK October 28th, 2017 11:19 PM

I just want a Darkhawk Retrospective like that one that was done for Rom the Space Knight.

I know, I'm the only one....

Then I'll add one of my favorite Internet personalities-

MovieBob does a lot of stuff but every year around this time is his "Schlocktober" special featuring cult horror films. This week is the 80's classic "The Stuff"

(fair warning; some of it's kinda gross)

I'll have to check that out then.

I wonder what other movies got comics.

Unfortunately, from the looks of things the only other one that got the same treatment was a horror movie called "Hell Motel." Having never seen the original, I don't know if it was more a straightforward adaptation or not.

Well smokes.

I was hoping maybe they mad a The incredible melting man comic.

Still the Terror from beyond space comic looks good.

And I noticed that they added extra eyes on the monster I wonder if they were there in the original.

The title for this thread should be "The Official Channel Awesome/Internet Personality Thread".

They abandoned the TGWTG brand a few years ago.

TeraMan October 29th, 2017 05:47 PM

Eh, I don't think it matters too much. People still use TGWTG as shorthand to refer them as anyways.

Dragonwolf Ranger October 29th, 2017 08:59 PM

CR has a Return of the Top 13 Weirdest Halloween Specials:

[YT]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86ZtT1cw9nw[/YT]

A few of these I never knew of, while some I did. Thought was interesting.

Pretty much this. It's way more convenient to just put TGWTG.
