Damn it, Maskman makes me stop scrolling every time.

Such simple beauty.

Ataruman December 13th, 2015 05:59 PM

When I finish Fiveman, I already know what category I'd add in for this:

"What the heck were they thinking!?" (yeah, there are fun and good things about Fiveman but...the real theme of the season isn't about family but more "how many weird things can we stuff into one Sentai and still make it work"...all while Inoue plans his psychological nightmare of a Sentai to follow in the background)

Scrolling through makes me realize just how much it is to take in... and yeah, in some cases, "What the heck were they thinking!?", interspersed among other engrossing material.

AshiusX December 13th, 2015 06:11 PM

I remembered when I first joined this website. I couldn't imagine remembering every single Super Sentai season out there. But now I can.

I guess I am not a padawan anymore.

Just looked at the start of the last thread and saw that I was up to the second example in Sentai of the evil of Horses back in my Magiranger watch...boy were those good times.

I still say we should put a warning next to Fiveman saying "only watch when taking the following drugs..."

On the bright side, sooner or later you'll get to the horses of virtue.

Ah, Puppetman. Probably some combination of hallucinogenics (so it all blends in) and mellowing ones (to suppress the rage)... maybe some uppers as well.

Tried that during Abarangers........Nothing change.

AshiusX December 13th, 2015 06:28 PM

I heard in Abarangers.

That AbareKiller falls in love with a ''little girl''.
Is that true?

timegold December 13th, 2015 06:29 PM

I say there are some contexts where Fiveman's wackiness could've... well, could've worked slightly better. Like Gekisou Sentai Carranger vs Chiikyu Sentai Fiveman. Or Toqger vs Fiveman: Featuring Ticket and the Five-kun Dolls. Let the clashes begin.

Ataruman December 13th, 2015 06:29 PM

I think seeing Arakawa and Urawasa doomed Abaranger from the start. (then again still not getting to that for a while)

Horses of virtue...no such thing. (unless it has to do with that forest team with the space animals...I'll be talking about them in June I suppose but I doubt it will change my opinion on Sentai horses)

[QUOTE=Ashiusx;5079676]I heard in Abarangers.

Ummm.....No.....Well yes but it was in reverse. Reje (The creepy little girl) was crushing on Mikoto (AbareKiller) hard because he was carrying the other half of the main villain Nametodamnlongformetoremember aka Dave, & Mikoto was appeasing her solely so he could get to Dino-Earth, & was honestly more preoccupied into making Jeanne (the typical Sentai Villainess who's under mind control) his personal property.....This guy get's official 6th Ranger status in Gokaiger yet Bullblack doesn't.....

AshiusX December 13th, 2015 06:48 PM

Well. I guess that is just as equally as strange.

I remember Abare Killer telling AbareBlack at the end Abareranger vs Dekaranger team up saying something like '' how is your daughter doing?''. I found that line kind of strange.

That might because AbareKiller actually looks more like a ranger than the BullBlack does.

Merlin December 13th, 2015 06:52 PM

Killer told AbareBlack to give his regards to his daughter. Because she had been born after Mikoto turned good, and after he sacrificed himself, Black named her Mikoto in his honour. It's nothing like the Rije thing.

Which is why GoseiKnight is an Official 6th........Wait.

Ataruman December 13th, 2015 06:57 PM

Eh, GoseiKnight went through an entire arc to become the 6th, culminating with his fully joining up by the time of Matrintis. Goseiger's structure was so different that it worked for that sake.

& that's what I get for not watching or reading up on Goseiger.:sneaky:

AshiusX December 13th, 2015 07:03 PM

Do you guys think Goseiger as a straight adaptation for Power Rangers could work?

After seeing couple of episodes. I found it much more compelling than its predecessor Shinkenger. I think it would work better than Shinkenger.

I don't.....think so.....Goseiger at least from what I remember was the first Sentai to rub people the wrong way, Not saying that it wasn't the first for everyone just from what I've seen back when it aired & 2 years after back in olden times when we only had like 8 series to watch subbed & the dark times of Abaranger's HKsubs.

Ataruman December 13th, 2015 07:13 PM

I actually wrote some time back my own ideas for a Goseiger adaptation; for the most part I eliminated the "angel element" and kept the concept of them as high schoolers just fighting one foe after another, with a bit more of the foreshadowing of the final villain (won't spoil it if you haven't seen the season); plus even kept in things like Datas. It has potential to have been something more if the write PR writer came along but...we got Megaforce.
