The one pictured is male.
Forced perspective in the photo... the girl in the foreground and the guy are about the same size... but he's sitting about 2 or 3 feet away from her. Put him in the same line and he'd be taller than her... meaning that judging just by size alone, that's a man, and male Aqua. Plus his size is more of a guy build... forgive me for saying it that way, but most of the guys used in Rangers that play the girls are smaller and daintier to fit a female... this one clearly doesn't look that way to me.
The boot heal is also moot... as I believe that there's not a difference between male and female boots... at least in all I've seen.
Not saying that Aqua won't become female at some point... but this is clearly male Aqua.

And again i'm just point out in PR that's not true at all hell even even Gia (Ciara Hannon) ha stated in interviews her own suit actor was a "experienced Japanese guy"

If that changed don't you think the top priority would be the core pink ranger? But now male suit actor for pink as we just saw in a recent picture. So Again if the suit actors reflect the role why aren't you flipping your shit over our first male pink ranger?

I think the legs are too long for a female ranger. Female Kyoryu Cyan was smaller then both pink and violet too. Female Kyoryu Cyan has like 90 seconds of footage in the finale, which they probably reshot anyway-seeing as finales are usually original-so the size ratio could change but not not as much as I'm seeing in this photo.
All i'm trying to do is get people to realize that all means bunk, it's not like a skirt is the be all end all for a female ranger, or are we forgetting EVERY YELLOW RANGER EVER. Given that theirs about 10 seconds of female cyan we could very well just be getting a skirtless female Aqua. All we really know right now is there filing Aqua. the Gender of Aqua is still up in the air.
*sigh* not my point, I'm talking about the CHARACTER. I guess my point wasn't clear.
Let's get this straight... we're talking Forced Perspective. Keep that term in mind. If you take that guy and place him right next to the girl holding the helmet, were to bring his legs to a standing position, and size him proportionately to the girl, he'd be considerably taller than her... meaning that he's probably taller than Shelby, ergo... he's M-A-L-E AQUA, as in the CHARACTER.
I don't give a flying flip about the real world person... my whole basing of everything I said was meant for the CHARACTER not the ACTUAL PERSON in the damn suit.
But geez, what do I know...
Yeah, I can't understand why people would think Aqua would be female. There was pretty much nothing suggesting as such.
I thought Aqua Ranger was going to be a female since they were holding it off it until season two and they were going to have more of a gender balance adding another female.
My only hold back, as I said, is in the picture, the boots appear to be the slight high heeled versions the female dino charge/kyoryuger suits have.
Though as I say, it could easily just be the lighting due to the umbrellas, as they end right at the heels of the feet. It's far from enough to make me think it's a female character. I still believe it's a male character. But it's not enough to make me go off on someone who thinks it might be a female character like you guys are doing. >_>

You're acting as though just because they're using male aqua, they won't ever use female aqua. By that logic, since we know they're using the male purple suit from behind the scenes footage, that obviously means the official trailer is fake because it shows female purple. They can use both genders, just like Kyoryuger.
Seriously, we get it, they're using male aqua. If someone wants to believe they're also using female, let them. Stop shooting them down anytime they want to believe that.
That said, unless I'm seeing things, pink seems to be sitting behind aqua. You can only make out her boots.

I feel like people think it'll blow a substantial part of the budget to use the female version of Aqua as if the male version had so much footage they would be cutting out. Sure the male version has more usuable footage but that doesn't mean they will take the easy way out by using it. I understand they want to sell toys but they have 5+ male rangers, three females still isn't nothing to that. Both suits can still be used but since people didn't like that either from Kyoryuger so it'll be an argument or debut regardless. We see Aqua Ranger is a male so let's just see where they go from there.

Yeah, I probably stuck around that thread for about 12 pages.
And that was nothing compared to JDF and his facebook post promising people compensation for votes in Morphing Madness.
