Origin of Space Patrol Delta
A lot of people have been saying that SPD is an outgrowth of the Silver Guardians or Lightspeed, but I'm not really buying into it. Space Patrol Delta seems too widespread to have originated on Earth.
My take on SPD's origins (starting with Countdown to Destruction):
After C2D, the Space Rangers put their morphers away for safe-keeping, believing that Zordon's wave had destroyed all the evil in the universe. They then used their celebrity status, along with the contacts they had made during their journeys through space, to promote universal peace.
Among these endeavors was the completion of Terra Venture. The space colony had very likely been begun years before, but didn't have the technology for completion until after C2D, when Earth had access to the Astro Megaship, Dark Fortress, and the help of the Karovians.
After the incident with the Psycho Ranger and the death of Kendrix, the Space Rangers realized that there was still evil left in the universe, and decided to keep their powers. They returned to Earth, and sought out Lightspeed, an organization that had dedicated itself to protecting Mariner Bay from demons. The threat had not been taken seriously up until then, but after their experience with the Psychos, the Rangers decided it was best to be safe, and alloweed Lightspeed to study their Astro Morphers so that they could complete the development of the Rescue Morphers.
The Space Rangers then split, dedicating themselves to becoming universal ambassadors. Andros sought out the remains of the UAE, with the aid of Tommy's knowledge. TJ remained on Earth. The others spread out through space, and eventually made contact with the Intergalactic Police, the creators of the Blue Senturion.
After many talks, the Rangers and the Intergalactic Police decided that they should join forces with the other peace-keeping powers in the universe, and form a new organization: Space Patrol.
In 2005, Space Patrol's reach finally extended to Earth and made peaceful contact with its government, thanks to the groundwork laid down by TJ and others. Many creatures from other worlds began to flock to Earth, now that its doors were open, knowing that it had been kept safe by the Power Rangers for years, and would be a good place to make a home.
Space Patrol integrated all current Ranger teams into its organization, including the Silver Guardians. Their advanced technology allowed them to modify Wes' Chronomorpher and remove the DNA lock, so that he could retire from being a Ranger and start up a family with Jen, who had decided to stay in the present after the incident with the Mut-Orgs. The best of the Silver Guardians was chosen to take Wes' place. He was Guardian Tate, and he was the first of the Earthbound Rangers to work officially for Space Patrol.
Guardian Tate already had a young son, Sky, who was already five years old when his father became a Ranger. Over the next fifteen years, Space Patrol worked to create new and better Ranger powers, modeling them off the Rangers of the past. The A-Squad was created in honor of the Space Rangers that had worked so hard to make Space Patrol possible.
By the year 2020, Space Patrol has become a huge success. It is now divided off into sectors, Earth being the base for the Delta sector. Advances in technology have allowed for Earth's secondary group, the B-Squad, to have Ranger powers of their own. Tate's son is now a full grown man, working on B-Squad to protect Earth from Emperor Gruumm.
That is my take on the origin of Space Patrol Delta. What's yours?

Nice theory. Ties up a lot of plot holes. C2D, FR, Sky's Father, etc. I like it: two thumbs up!

I like it. Ties Space, Lightspeed, & Time Force into a big theory, along with the development of S.P.D.

Well i think that after ctd the govt felt that couldnt depend on teenagers with all these potential threats. Lightspeed begun the research into ranger powers along with the aid of the space rangers, they were able to create the spd ranger. But after all the talk about protecting time i doubt wes gave up something from the future that shouldnt exist yet to the govt. I bet eric did the same so i doubt spd originated from the timeforce technolgy though i think timeforce originates from the spd technology. Of course though the govt got aide from aliens who helped created the spd morphers with the earthlings.
But thats just a minor deviation from your theory.

Very good Database Ranger, couldn't come up with a better theory myself. However, lets add to that a bit.
Delta is the fourth letter in the greek alphabet I bet. So what about Space Patrol Alpha, Space Patrol Beta, and Space Patrol Gamma?
I was thinking Space Patrol Alpha was consisted of the Aquitian and Zeo powers. It was mentioned in "A Golden Homecoming" that both Triforia and Aquitar are in alignment with Earth. However, Earth is already the basis for so many powers:
Space Patrol Alpha: (Triforia and Aquitar)
A-Squad (Zeo Rangers)
B-Squad (Alien Rangers)
C-Squad + D-Squad (Triforians and Aquitians)
The Aquitians seemed to show alot of respect to Trey of Triforia so theoretically maybe Triforia is above Aquitar in a feudal system or something?
Next comes Eltar, Edenoi, Lilandria, and the Inter Galactic Police. The Intergalactic Police seemed to be in someway contact with Zordon if they knew about him in the future. Possibly also meaning they were somewhere near, and that seemed to be the same case with Edenoi and Lilandria. We know here are the powers of the Turbo Rangers (Robot Rangers), and the Masked Rider Clan.
Space Patrol Beta: (Edenoi, Eltar, IGC, and Lilandria)
A-Squad (Turbo Rangers)
B-Squad (Masked Riders)
C-Squad + D-Squad (Ednoians, Eltarians, Robots, and Lilandrians)
After that is Space Patrol Gamma. It's seemingly consisted of a planet way ou t of range from others. That planet would be Mironoi:
Space Patrol Gamma: (Mironoi)
Single-Squad (Galaxy Rangers)
C-Squad + D-Squad (Mironoians)
Than there's us. Space Patrol Delta, who has the most powers. I will first establish the current ones and make an attempt at all the others:
Space Patrol Delta (current): (Earth)
A-Squad (Space Rangers)
B-Squad (Delta Rangers)
C-Squad + D-Squad (Humans and Aquitians)
And to add to the theory of Database Ranger, here's Generation One of SPD:
Space Patrol Delta (year one): (Earth)
A-Squad (Time Force Rangers)
B-Squad (Lightspeed Rescue Rangers)
C-Squad + D-Squad (Humans)
The last remaining power, besides the Wild Force Powers, is the Ninja Storm powers which were probably kept sacred to the Ninja Schools.

It's very ingenious. It would make a great "Shadows of the Empire"-type story--as in, an explanation for unrevealed events.
Database Ranger, would you be offended if I tried my hand at a fanfic of this? It could be very interesting.

If you want to get technical about the Delta thingie, it should be considered that the SPD is not an Earth based organization, but an intergalactic organization with a base on Earth. We could suppose that the word Delta stands for a sector in the universe, so SPD is the Space Patrol division patrolling the Delta sector, with the SP-Alpha, SP-Beta, SP-Gamma, Omega, Epsilon, Tau, blah, blah patrolling other sectors in the universe.

Well if it's alien-based, why are they using Earthen (Greek) letters to divide the universe's sectors?

They use those names on the Earth division and only on the Earth division. Just like the UN is called ONU on Spanish-speaking countries, blah blah.
Or,
Aliens happen to speak American English.

I often dont care for theories like this since most of the time they screw up a few things and then makes the rest of it look stupid but this one I like.

Nice theory. It actually works.
I'm gonna be very bimbo and ask what does UAE stand for. I thought Arab Emirates, but i know you didn't mean that.
