"My Big Fat Greek Sentai" Sentai 2005?

Well it`s just about that time again, when art sketches and scriptlets show up on the net just before Toei makes it official. Sentai 2005 looks like it just peaked out from behind it`s rainbow colored curtain.

It seems that Sports/Olympics/Greek Myth is going to be our next sentai, from the looks of it. PLEX/Toei/Bandai want to use the recent Olympic boom(the return of the Olympics to Athens), as a catapult for the show. Sounds good to me We can assume the colors will be Red, Black, Blue, Yellow and Green, which leads me to believe we will actually get a green female, just based on the way the olympic rings are set up. I'm going to do some research, and find out what are the most recognized olympic sports, might give some insight as to what we may be dealing with as of next year. As always, I'll keep you guys posted

Or at least they could be, since other than Saint Seiya the Greeks don`t scream henshin hero goodness. Ok you have Grand Sazer but thats it.

hopefullly it'll be a mostly mythology based sentai with slight olympic aspects. i mean you cant have a wrestler zord or a long jump zord. there hasent really been a mythology backdrop since Dairanger or OhRanger so it's a long time coming.

Like Kongazord and Isis Mega?
I imagine they'll pick up on the sports bits where Gaoranger left off. And they might go with more humanoid-type Zords this time.

kongazord or any gorilla zords kinda an exception since they look human anyawy, but how do you get Isis Megazord from long jump zord?

Use the gods maybe. Zeus, Athena, Aphrodite, Hephestus, Ares. With the extra being Hercules.

On second thought it's probably not that great of an idea.


Using some mythological creatures would be cool though.

Centaur, Minotaur, Griffin, Pegasus, any greek myth creature.


Maybe include a whole other evil team like Psychorangers this year. I hope for that every year.

Thats a cool idea. But I would have them start off using the myth. beast zords, but then switch to the god type zords for a power booste. Ya know, you never see the team get completley new zords to pilot anymore, all you see are these add on zords that just replace arms as weapons.

Aren`t those all the popular ones? Maybe they`ll cross it with some of the newer stuff like biking, snowboarding and boxing.

Maybe they could have sports based weapons (baseball bat, pole, shotput, bow & arrow, and something else) and then have mythological Zords.

Personally, I like the idea. This is what PR needs. It's about time we get something a little more original. If I see another animal or vehicle based season after S.P.D., I'm gonna have to kill someone.

I like the idea of having the Zords be mythalogical creatures. They would compliment the olympic theme nicely.
