Thought on MMPR v2
So, a while back, Bandai sort of introduced the new MMPR toyline with a story told with action figures that showed the RPM Rangers coming upon the MMPR, buried away somewhere. I'm sure there are any number of reasons that wouldn't work...
This morning, ABC has run ads suggesting some sort of time travel hoopla that, in a way, seems to have MMPR happening again.
Now, I'm not firmly believing this will actually happen, but what if... what if this remastered MMPR was somehow retold in some way relating to the above scenarios, where it's more than just reruns? Like I said, I doubt it heavily, but I'm wondering: a) would anyone want that? and b) can anyone think of a way it might actually somehow work?
It's been a long day and it's late, so I'm probably just overthinking the two elements.

You don't suppose it'll incorporate all new footage of time traveling protagonists who do little things in the background that help move the original footage along?
Also, (SPOILERS FOR "DANGER AND DESTINY")
Venjix survives, which means the Bandai short is probably in continuity and occurs after an unspecified time. The RPM upgrades occur, and the original Rangers help cripple Venjix forces, and it's either him that goes back in time or someone else.
That would be something, effectivly it would make a whole season of reruns the equivilant of "Trials and Tribble-Ations"

That would be in line with the idea of Dr K undoing Venjix's rule by reversing time and space.
Or Venjix sends a speck of himself through the time portal, and the Rangers follow him - but they some out the other end in different times. Venjix either spawns into the Machine Empire or claims leadership over their remnants in Forever Red. Which would make the Rangers either a hundred years too late or ten years too early.

I'd assume this is a quick and dirty way of explaining the 90s-ness, but if they actually are going to monkey a bit with the repeats, that's either ambitious, crap, or ambitious crap. (Only time will tell!)

And you couldn't post this in any of the existing MMPR v2 threads becaauuse...?
Well, even though the promos have been aired, I think that "wormhole/time portal" footage is from another PR season either way. So I'm sure there won't actually be any sort of new footage.

I think it's the wormhole from Wormhole.

Well, if done right, at least they could explain away that gaping-ass plothole in MF.

I think the promos are just Disney trying to find a clever way of introducing MMPR to a new generation, as well as the aforementioned covering-of-the-ass, so to speak, when it comes to the very 90's look of the show. I don't imagine Disney giving any further explanation, other than a possible (and brief) introduction prior to "Day of the Dumpster" with inter-cut footage and a voiceover explaining why we're seeing this again.
