I'm kinda surprised this hasn't ended up here yet. And yes, I did a search. This was posted by Cmndr Crayfish over at Rangercrew. For what it's worth, it sounds awesome. Most likely better than what we'll get.

The finale was "Ranger Black," where after Venjix is destroyed and Summer finally chooses which boy she wanted to be with, the sleeper programming in Dillon activates. The memories of he and Tenaya together were falsified and meant to lead the Rangers into taking him into their ranks and allowing him greater trust. Dillon NEVER EXISTED AT ALL. Now it falls to the rest of the team to destroy Venjix once and for all, even now that he controls the Morphing Grid.
I can still see Venjix using Dillon as his body (I downloaded all the available eps, but havent watched past ep 25 yet). I also have to say I rather like the idea of Ranger Black being a sleeper agent.
The ending that Eddie Guzelian had in mind was going to have Dillon become the final host for Venjix, leaving the other Rangers forced to kill him in order to save humanity. It has since been replaced by a new ending by Judd Lynn, of which we have no idea about the content.
I'm sorry, but Chris isn't a justifiable source for this kind of thing.
Why not? He has always been a reliable source as far as inside information goes. Though I'm not sure I would have liked that as an ending for a series.
that is just the kind of ending I was hoping that RPM would have. Here is one fan who hopes it still ends like this... if this is true information, that is.

that's what a lot of people are saying....for a regular season it wouldve been epic but for the finale episode of a long running series...then NO
I'm not sure how real that is, but Funaro seems to know his stuff. He's also good at connecting with PR cast and crew, so it could be legit.
Either way, I always had a feeling Eddie's "more mature" take on RPM's finale would involve Dillon being killed. I don't see Chip going that route, and I actually prefer Dillon to stay alive. It always sucks when a character you enjoy bites the dust. I remember feeling slightly disappointed when Dinobot died in Beast Wars.
(Seeing as how Beast Wars is over a decade old, I don't think it needs a spoiler alert.)

And I just happen to agree with that point. *shrugs* The only difference however, is that I doubt I'd have wanted that for any PR season, even if it wasn't the final one.

Now all of a sudden, I feel weird for not expecting Dillon to be killed off in the end, if Eddie Guzelian's vision became a reality. I actually thought that whether the story was still under Eddie's supervision or not, that we'd get the obvious. You know, Dillon would regain the memories of his past somehow, get back with his sister, and even learn what his true name really is. As far as the latter goes though, now knowing what Eddie was going to do quite explains why Dillon wasn't given a last name. (Gem and Gemma might just be another story though.)
While it does sound appealing, fresh, and spectacular, I think the scenario above wouldn't hold up to scrutiny--I mean, really, this whole time, Dillon was Venjix's unwitting sleeper agent? So the past nearly 30 episodes, Venjix was just goofing around, mounting major assaults on Corinth and only pretending to be upset when the rangers foiled his plans? Obviously we're not getting a lot of details here, and perhaps Eddie would've pulled it off to our satisfaction, but my satisfaction would have entailed a solid, believable explanation of why Venjix didn't/couldn't/wouldn't pull the trigger on his master plan until Episode 30.
