Have a good feeling this will go for atleast a good 2 years. I can see the first year doing good enough to warrant doing it a second year.
But I wonder if this is more a testing ground to see if the originals are still sellable.
If thats true, wouldn't it be weird if after these repeats, we get a new cartoon that picks up where these disney remastered eps ended?
Be like one show starting 2 universes. That would be great.

I hope they are trying to see if it's resellable, then maybe we'll get region 1 DVD releases then. Of course it is Disney so the best we'll get is volume sets with no guarantee of them completely the season.

MMPR through RPM all happened, Disney's just too cheap to pay for another adaptation so they're probably just going to cough up whatever $ they have to for the Saban owned music they still have to use, which is probably a lot cheaper than springing for new actors and renting Shinkenger props from Toei.

My local cable provider's tv listings describes the Saturday Jan 2 airing of "Day of the Dumpster" as,
"Original cast members Walter Jones and Austin St. John host a retrospective look at the Power Rangers phenomena and screen its pilot."
Do you suppose the Lost Episode description is just an error?

Everything still happened. Just as the tweeked and updated original Star Wars trilogy remains the proper trilogy.

It's totally wrong. They also have the "original airdate" as sometime in 2003.
For the second episode, it's worse. Try 2007.

Mine shows "Day of the Dumpster" and "High Five" airing on ABC on January 2 at 11:00 and 11:30:
"Day of the Dumpster": A benevolent sage known as Zordon asks five teenagers to help protect the planet.
"High Five": Rita sends Finster's latest creation, a constantly hungry pig, to consume the planet's food supply. No, seriously. That's "High Five"'s description...
P.S. As an added bonus, don't even bother trying to DVR them by "new episodes only".

Ha, you just reminded me. For years, KABC has used an old commercial to remind kids to watch "Power Rangers" at a later time due to pre-emptions.
They finally update it (the voiceover, anyway) to say RPM in the commercial, for the last timeshift before the series ends forever. That was hilarious to me.

And a timely reminder for me to set my DVR to record.
Edit: Verizon's guide for WMAR lists PRJF. Not joking.

I don't know what channel this is supposed to be on, but I checked TVGuide.com and it says ABC on Saturdays. So I search for it on my DVR and nothing. I go to the day and time it should be on and there's an Eye Witness News and Jeopardy in those spots. WTF? I have Brighthouse, btw.

Meh, whatever. As long as it tells you what's going to be happening in that episode, that's all that really matters. It's like Power Rangers Forever. It's not Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Zeo Turbo In Space etc. Forever. Theyt're just treating all the different seasons as one big series. But I can see where it gets confusing.

Well she IS internationally known, ya know. Just like how Itchy and Scratchy were popular on Rigel-4.

Yeah I am on the east coast and my Comcast cable listing on tv guide.com lists MMPR airing on Jan 2, 2009 at 12:00 noon with day of the dumpster and then 12:30 with high five so if this is truely what airs then the are airing them out of order from the original airings. just skipping one episode but still kinda anoying to me.
1 1-01 101 28/Aug/93 Day of the Dumpster
2 1-02 106 04/Sep/93 Food Fight
3 1-03 102 07/Sep/93 High Five
4 1-04 103 08/Sep/93 Teamwork

Mine says that, too, but it's the TiVo Service giving me that description. It also lists the show as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. The 2003 date is a bit on the unusual side, but I think it put High Five in 2006. Also, PR is no longer animated. It's categorized as "Kids, Science Fiction" in TiVo's mind.
I was all excited. It *would* be a good way to kick off the remastered MMPR - show the very original pilot that started it all - but, like Burg said, it's all wrong.
Edit: As for "skipping an episode," they're not. They're going strictly by the production numbers (the 101, 102, 103 in your list), so things aren't going to make sense in places. It's a common Disney-ownership-era practice to air PR like that. Early on, the show was produced out of sequence, but it was sent to Fox to air as it did, continuity goofs aside. With the latter seasons (NS forward), things were produced with the intent to air in a straight 01-3X sequence. WF is the last of the out-of-order-production seasons, with Forever Red being produced right on the coattails of Reinforcements, but meant to air much later. Every rerun cycle of WF has followed the production order and put Forever Red right between Unfinished Business and Homecoming (Reinforcements is 24/25, UB is 26, FR is 27, Homecoming is 28, and so on). Sure, *we* know what's going on, but does your average fan?

TitanTV shows WMAR's 1/2 listings as PRJF.
Zap2It now has what Cammy posted, right OAD's but the wrong info for High Five
TVGuide.com has the right episodes, but labels them as 'new' ... *tsk*
