Kamen Rider KIVA - Begins January 27th, 2008

The first Kamen Rider series to be told in two times. Wataru Kurenai is a young social recluse living in what some call a haunted house, he has but one friend, Shizuka Nomura. Though he seems like an underwealming person Wataru has one great talent, he can play the violin masterfully. In 1986 Otoya Kurenai, Wataru's young father, is a vagabond who has found interest in Yuri Asou, a member of the Fangire Hunters. The story follows the threat of the Fangire in both time lines as well as the threat of Kamen Rider IXA to Kiva in the present.

Characters - 20 years old
Kurenai Wataru / Kamen Rider Kiva

The hero of the story and the partner of Kivat. Wataru contains a child-like innocence of the world around him. He doesn't have many friends, but he's someone that can be relied on.

Nomura Shizuka

14 year old Shizuka is one of the few people that can get close to Wataru. She loves to act as a motherly figure to him at times and is his violin student.

Asou Megumi - 21 years old

Yuri Asou's daughter and a member of the Fangire hunters. Megumi is a fierce woman who fights the Fangire with a strong passion. She often taunts Shizuka for acting like Wataru's mother and seems to have a bit of a inferiority complex.

Jiro - Garulu

Active in both time lines, Jiro is a member of the werewolf Fangire clan and one of the three caretakers of Castle Doran. Jiro has a respect for Otoya for protecting women.

Ramon - Basshaa

Posing as a 13 year old human boy, Basher is actually a Fishman Fangire.
Basher has a cool, laid back attitude. Serves as the housekeeper of Castle Dran when not in battle.

Riki - Dogga

The Frankenstein Fangaia, serves as the butler in Castle Dran when not in battle.

1986
Kurenai Otoya - 21 years old

Wataru's father from 22 years ago. Has a fine love for women and loves to play the romantic. He begins to follow Yuri in an effort to protect her.

Asou Yuri - 20 years old

Founding member of the Fangire Hunters in 1986. Thanks to an event in her youth she has come to have an immense hatred for the Fangire over the years. Even when out powered in battle, she's the type that will never give up.

Shima Mamoru

A wealthy man who funds the Fangire Hunter organization.

Okay. There's one week until Kiva starts so I'm opening this thread. I'm just requesting that you guys don't fill this thread up with a bunch of, "OMG! I can't wait!" posts until it airs. Just treat it with respect. I'm sure Ryoutarou is going to put a lot of time and effort into this thread so just be good to it. Enjoy.

Kuuga maybe, i'd say it looks like a mix of Agito, Ryuki,Hibiki and some parts of Kabuto.

Anyway, im really looking forward to this show. I even pre-ordered the opening theme CD...which is a first for me. Anyway i hope Wataru is a rider who doesnt need posessed by different demons to specialise in one personality trait or another like Ryotaro. The rider suit this year looks impressive but theres no bug eyes to be seen (which doesnt bother me that much actualy but i suppose hunters eyes may count as bug-esk).

Come on Kiva make a fun year of KR.

Den-o was great, and Kiva already is looking like it'll be just as good.

I like the motif and general designs of the series, and it looks like it'll be its own series, not just "Den-O WITH VAMPIRES".

That, and I have many, many, many plans on what to do with that footage. But that's for later on.

Looks like we can't get anything from his blog, he just kept posting "the wind was strong, it was cold." Seto's life must be boring.

Anyone else concerned that all the Riders seem to be played by male supermodels with little in the way of acting or fighting skill? >.>

Oh, wait, some of you have been concerned about that for eons. My mistake.

I don't know whether the male actors have to know some fighting skills to play Riders. But if you want to play the Sentai member, at least you must have the abilities to learn how to fight. The girl who played the little pig save by Ban in Dekaranger (I don't remember her name now) once said she auditioned 4 times for Sentai Pink, but every time she failed because she was so bad at exercise.
