Be in Matt Austin's Documentary About Power Ranger Fans
Hey Everyone
A quick update for those for those who didn't catch my earlier post.
While at Power Morphicon I brought my camera and in between panels, q&a's, signings etc, I interviewed some random fans. The main question being "Why Power Rangers?".**These interviews were strung together and turned into a short 10 minute film I've called
Mor-Fan-Ominal. Unlike a film like "Trekies", the goal of this film is not to make fun of the fans, but celebrate them. Give you guys a voice that's heard to those who may not understand why a kids show has a devoted and ,yes, eccentric following.
The film is starting to make it's rounds at film festivals and is being picked up for distribution. This is also a reminder for those of you who were involved and contacted to get me those release forms please! You guys will get to see it when it hits the web/tv.
This post is a call for worldwide submissions. I am now turning
Mor-Fan-Ominal into a full length film and looking for fans to be featured "characters".
What I'm looking for:
1) Have you made a short film inspired by PR ?
2) Send me a video (ideally), photos, handwritten letter, etc to show me and my producers why we should pick you. Do you have a room devoted to PR paraphernalia? Turned your car into a Zord? Run a PR website? Written Fan-Fiction? Make costumes? Props?**Have home viewing parties? Anything and everything!!!
Basically I want to know how PR changed/influenced/affected/has become a part of your life.
All the submissions/auditions may appear in the film, but only 5 will be chosen for the "Day in the Life Of..." segments, which will include a week or so of scheduled activities, interviews, and some surprises.
Please include all of your contact information in your submission and send to
Mor-Fan-Ominal c/o

Really looking forward to seeing your stuff and in my own way, giving back to you guys for all the loyalty you've given the show and support you've given me.
I won't close off by saying buttery...Oops. I guess I just did.
Matt A

True that. People are only honest on the internet anyway.
"Dax is my favorite!" "Nick was the best Red Ranger ever!"

Silly boy, there was no "Once a Ranger". I asked Matt myself, he denied it all!

This sounds like fun. I totally didn't get enough attention at PMC just for being from Sweden.

Plus... I helped Matt Austin and Chris Violette with their elevator troubles, and Austin St. John owes me an "anything".

Oh pooh, I thought Matt hadn't titled his documentary yet. All I was going to say is that "Please don't call it Fanboys 2".
Ray needs to be featured in the full-length documentary. After all, he's the one behind Rangerboard and without it, we wouldn't have PMC. >_>
Lisa would be good too... she videoed PMC too, and has NPS. <_<

It would be interesting to see the finished product. I hope fans from the entire spectrum submit video and the like; it would be a shame if the video portrays only the "stereotypical" fan. I'm a college-graduate and a veteran myself, so one wouldn't think I'd be a PR fan.

Sounds cool. Sorry to say I wasn't able to make the convention, couldn't convince my friend to come with me and then when I told my family about it, they laughed at me. But hope it all works out, I'm sure it will be awasome.

You should submit something. With all the work you do you need to be featured in it.

I would just love to be in it but really I am just not that exciting! I don't run a web site or do radio shows. There are way many more interesting stories to be told. Power Rangers changed my life in many ways. That's why I love it. It also brings back fond memories of childhood... like getting hit in the eye with a tree branch that was doubling as the Power Sword. Oh and a ski pole burst my nose. I guess that's why Mr. Motivator told us not to copy any of the fight scenes at home... who knew?

I am thinking of applying, but I just need to know a few things.
1.) Are we able to submit an application through e-mail (Easier if we are to send videos or pictures)? If so, what e-mail address?
2.) If we must send through mail, what format will you prefer the video to be in (DVD, Hi-8, Flash drive, etc.)? What would you prefer if we are to send photos (Standard camera, polaroid, flash drive, etc.)?
Thank you for your time, and thank you for letting fans participate in this project!

Hey, I live in Toronto aussi!
Though, I would never participate as a fan in this film more so than being one of reason. If you ever need a hand from a local once-upon-a-time fan, shoot me a PM.
