[QUOTE=ElusiveWookiee;3191963]This is not a fangasm, but a legitimate opinion: I think that's probably a safe bet. Disney doesn't want to spend the money to produce new episodes of PR...alright, we get it. But if they can rest on their laurels and broadcast what they've already paid money for, why not? The Super Legends product line (not just toys, but clothing, party supplies, etc) has been tested over the past years. I think we'll probably be seeing old merchandise rereleased where appropriate (morphers, zords), and maybe even new figures to coincide with the "new" season of PR.
i respect your opinion although theres no confirmation from disney that they are going to do this or not, i still believe that they are going make the american shinkenger, if there's a show or not, because i think bandai knows that there shinkenger fans in america and they cant afford the boj merchandise, so they are probably going to make it anyway,
however i hope that the disney or bandai has a way of reaching out to non-sentai/pr fans to buy the sentai american merchandise, like doing something similar to kamen rider dragon knight website promoting the dragon knight episodes then connecting the merchandise from bandai to that site.
Well if Toei has already remastered Zyuranger-Kakuranger then they could just replace the fight scenes with the new ones provided by Toei.
Although thats only if Toei has done this already which I have no idea if they have.
I honestly don't know if they have either.
I still think we may be setting our sights a little high hoping Disney will splice anything into (or out of) the show. I could be wrong, since at this stage all we have is a single-line tweet, but I would imagine it's just a quick cleaning of the original prints, not a remaster, and not editing any of the film again. The original prints, being what Disney purchased, not the edited versions they have shown so far.

Hopefully just that last part. MMPR without the original soundtrack, while interesting, would not be MMPR.
If this is true, I find it an interesting look at how Disney is going to keep the franchise alive. MMPR-Space definitely have the nostalgia factor working in their favor, which is so popular as that generation's kids become adults.

I think they mean clearing up some of the footage so it doesn't look so old and grainy.
Very misleading, I thought there would be a DVD release or something.
And I heard about this from my Twitter update on my phone. Exciting news, but I'll wait until we hear official confirmation. This is no offense to Tyler since I consider him a friend.
Still, something to look forward to in the coming weeks.
Kinda stupid to clean up the episodes for air and NOT release them on DVD isn't it? All that effort just for preemption for sports?
if it's confirmed, i think it's more have to do with the dvds. i mean disney cant make money by putting things on air, they make it off of merchandise by all means dvds.
In his panel, in response to a PR question, Tony let slip that he got a call from a friend who does video work who was all like "You'll never guess what's on my desk." According to Tony, they're cleaning up (remastering, reformatting, digitizing, etc.) the video and plan to air it unedited. He doesn't know what channel.
I can ask him at his next panel or whenever I see him if there's anything else.
Also, Tony recently directed a KRDK video game. Yeah, really.

Actually you'd be surprised how much commercials earn stations/networks.

Anything else y'all want to know?
Would he happen to know what system that game will be on? Rumors circulate that it'll be a Wii game.
I also imagine an "old school" Power Ranger marathon happening, but what channel is a good question. The Disney Channel will never have it. Disney XD is the most likely but they have zero Power Ranger presence. ABC actually airs RPM, but I doubt any sort of marathon being devoted to a show that is 15+ years old and its current incarnation getting clobbered in ratings.
My interest is peaked. I'm keeping an eye on this thread. "Cleaning up" MMPR sounds very ambitious to say the least.
The way he said it made me think of the digital transition. The last time MMPR was shown at all was several years ago, after all. And if what Tony heard was correct, there will be some episodes shown that we haven't seen in years and versions of others that we haven't seen since 2001. Again, I will ask him again later on, if I get the chance.
