Official Power Rangers magazine being re-launched in the UK

The official Power Rangers magazine is being re-launched in the UK in the next few days. As UK fans may remember it used to be released every month or so back in the MMPR days but it was cancelled around Zeo-Turbo.
It's now been picked up by Egmont (the same company that recently revived the Power Rangers Annuals in the UK with last years Ninja Storm edition).
Anyway here's the article:

Quote:
Egmont is set to unveil Power Rangers Dino Thunder, a new monthly magazine based on the popular Power Rangers TV series.

The magazine is aimed at four to seven year-old boys, runs to 32 pages and goes on sale on 6 April priced £1.75. It will have an initial print run of 75,000.

Power Rangers Dino Thunder will contain puzzles, stories, games, posters and colouring challenges, and will feature a combination of large, action-based visuals and small 'bite sized' chunks of text which Egmont hopes will make the magazine "easier to navigate and more accessible for young boys".

The title will also come with a series of branded covermounts.

It will receive marketing support from the owner of the Power Rangers brand, Disney, as well as in-store and third party promotions.

The launch coincides with the new Dino Thunder series which is set to broadcast on GMTV during Spring 2005.

Debbie Cook, publisher of Egmont Magazines said: "The Power Rangers brand is refreshed each year with the launch of a new TV programme and toy range. The magazine will also be updated each year with a new logo and content which will add to the longevity and appeal of the title."

Siobhan Geraghty, publishing manager at Disney, said: "Egmont's publishing expertise and understanding of the target market has delivered an extremely fresh and energetic magazine which brings the Power Rangers brand to life. The title is full of action-based imagery and interactive role-play, which is sure to be a hit with Power Rangers fans."

Egmont. grrrrrr. Still not forgiven them for cancelling Sonic The Comic...
Oh well, at least the show will get extra exposure from it.

If I can get enough copies I'm willing to send out to people in the US. PM me if you're serious (and only if you're serious please)

I would ask for an amount to cover the magazine purchase up front but obviously this sounds scam like so I will buy 3 (count them - 3) copies if I can, and the first people to pm me can have first call. At cost of magazine + shipping. Payment would be paypal only.

You had to go and... WAAAH

Sniff.... quality dwindled towards the end anyhows. Megadroid was gone, they switched to computer rendedring for the art, and it was printed on shabby, recycled paper.

I've still got over a hundred of em, tho. Man, there really was NOTHING quite like Richard Elson artwork telling a kickass multi-parter, like Running Wild, Brotherhood of Metallix or any of the "mythology" stories.

Hmm, if it SELLS, that is. Sounds like it'll be kinda cool. Only problem is, with PR info much more accesible on the internet, it's doubtful just HOW useful the mag is going to be. Hopefully, they'll have some cover-mounted DVDs or something.

Yup. I miss it too. Thankfully, I'm editor of the online continuation so I get lotsa new STC

Still, you're right about the painted art. As much as I liked/and like using the cg colours (God knows, it saves time, lol!) nothing can really beat Elson's paints at his height. Still, his cg colours got much better as time went on, but never really supassed his paints imo.
