NOTE: For this fanfic, I will be using the Lightspeed rescue characters, but the Operation Overdrive suits, morphers etc. There are a few changes, such as the core five rangers having a coloured Gogo Changer, and Silver having an Accellular, but these will become apparent throughout.
EDIT: TITLE SUGGESTIONS WELCOME...WHEN ONE IS THOUGHT OF, I WILL REQUEST A MOD TO CHANGE THE TITLE.

PROLOGUE

A lot has happened is the time between the fate of lightspeed and the present day….I apologise for not writing more often, but I simply haven’t had the time…
My son, Ryan has left us – not surprising, considering the trauma he has been through in his life….that coupled with the fate of the Aquabase has cemented his decision to persue his childhood dream – He’s gone to help children in the third world countries, usually for months at a time. At the moment, I believe he is in India…
However, the rest of the team have stayed, and we have made an excellent decision, in my eyes of who to recruit as the new Overdrive Silver ranger. Raj K. Saxena has brought the team successes not possible had they been on their own…
Though I do worry about my daughter…Dana…even as I write, she is on an amazingly dangerous mission to recover on of Lightspeeds greatest weapons – its our bad luck that it’s the enemy who is holding it.

Capt. Matthew Mitchell.
CHAPTER 1

The glint of a visor shone out in the darkness, like a sparkle in an otherwise dreary plain. Soft, crisp footsteps echoed through the tunnels, and the gentle trickle of water filled the air.
A man – well, the physiology of the person was that of a man – crept down the tunnel. He was clad in spandex – a shiny blue suit, blue gloves and boots, each with silver ringed boot cuffs. On his left forearm, a silver and blue object glittered. Across his body, from neck to crotch was a large white stripe – with a compass in the middle of his chest. His head wasn’t actually a head, it was a sleek full-head blue helmet.
“Blue! What’s the situation?”
“Probably better if you don’t keep calling me “blue”, Carter…why am I the only one who doesn’t get to keep his colour? I liked green…”
“Stop your complaining…its not our fault, ask Mrs. Fairweather why your colour was changed, Blue. And if you have a problem with the code names, take it up with Capt. Mitchell…”
“But…”
“Oh for gods sakes man! Its just a colour!”
“Then switch with me Carter”
“Uhhh…..I have to go now…”
The transmission cut off. Joel Rawlings, or “Blue”, on this mission, crept down the tunnel. He performed a combat roll, switching sides of the narrow tube and peered round a corner. There! The door! He crept forwards, and pulled out his sidearm from his holster.
“ And another thing….why the heck do we have to use these things? What was wrong with the rescue blasters?”
“ Because, as I continue to explain, this mission requires power and technology that, I’m afraid renders the Lightspeed ranger system obsolete. If its that important to you, ask Mrs. Fairweather for your old morpher back...I’m sure she wont mind.”
“I already have. Its in my room.”
“Good for you man…now, shut up and get going!”
A bleep echoed in the earpiece of Joel’s helmet. He pulled out his Survi-buster, and flicked a switch on the side of his weapon. He pressed his trigger, and a concentrated blast of blue energy burst from the nozzle of the weapon, and hit the door, targeted at seemingly, nothing.
A small bang issued from the door, echoing around the tunnel. It swung open.

Carter Grayson ran a hand through his hair and sighed, pulling his headpiece off and dropping it on the table in front of him. He sighed, and gazed at the many screens glaring at his tired face. Joel was being his usual self…Dana and Kelsey were on in the standby, Chad was in the weapons testing room with Mrs Fairweather, and Raj…well, he was in his room. Carter stared at the screen. Raj was pacing up and down, glancing at his Accellular every now and then. It bothered him having a camera in the room of a team-mate, but it was a safety precaution…There was so much they didn’t know about him. So much that could go wrong…

Joel chuckled to himself slightly before kicking the door down, and then spinning the laser in his hands in traditional western style. He jumped in, and punched down another door – to be greeted by a whole room full of Gunners.

Contrary to their name, the Gunners usually don’t use actual guns, preferring to use either lasers or actual physical weaponry. Only the elite used powerful laser-bullets and only the very elite used actual metal bullets – reinforced with extreme lasers. The reason for this is the simple fact that firing one requires concentration and skill – a feature many Gunners lack.
The Gunners were originally a powerful group of batlings, which were captured and experimented on by the same corporation that created the Cyber rangers. The result? 247 dead men, 556 permanently injured and a mindless, amazingly strong race, seemingly endless due to their ability to multiply via thought.

Joel watched as every head in the room turned towards him. He smiled, and pulled his weapon from his holster. He flicked the power setting to level 3, and waited. The Gunners were barely feet away from him when he attacked – dispatching 48 in barely ten seconds. Spinning the Survi-buster in his hands, he eliminated the rest of the small army, using the Survi-buster’s titanium blade to literally cut down the last fifty or so.
He whistled slightly as he slid the weapon back into its holster, gazing at the smoking robot-creature things littering the room.
He looked around the room, switching on his headlights by tapping a button on the forefinger of his right glove with his thumb. A blinding flash rang round th room, and a concentrated beam of light emerged from his helmet headlights. Gazing round the room, he spotted a slightly off-colour patch. Tapping another button three times in succession, he made the light even brighter – exposing a semi-translucent cluster of rocks. He pressed a button on his left forearm, and his morpher popped open. He pressed the gold dial, and a purple wave shot out from one end. A green light flashed on his morpher. He sighed in relief, and kicked the door down.
All hell broke loose.
Carter had the whole team ready and within the tunnels before Joel had even touched the pile of rocks – something bad would happen when he touched those, and he was right.
Back at Rescue Ops, the screen showed (to room full of techies and workers) how as soon as the blue boot touched the door, seventeen explosions occurred all round the room – including seven in the door itself. Joel was thrown backwards, being pelted with debris, and hit the back of the room hard. He started to glow, pulsating blue light working its way from his helmet to boots, speedily erasing his suit. Within half a minute, Joel Rawlings was lying in a battered and bloody heap on the ground.

He wasn’t moving.

i never watched LR, so i dont know what it was like, and although the idea of the Boukenger morphers being switched around - never seen n e of the show, BTW, nor anything Sentai - is a bit strange - to my mind, mind you - i think this fic is actually rather good. It seems to be written rather well. i am curious as to how it will progress. and i was once upon a time gonna write a fic using the Boukenger/OO suits etc., but i never got around to it. However, the title i was gonna use was Revolution Max. You can use it, if you like.

awesome start. LSR follows SPD as my next in line for favorite season. Man, hope Joel isn't dead... that'd suck (for him at least cause.... he'd be dead...). LSR using OO's powers, now that is something that I never thought of. Can't wait to see what else you got planned for this fic.

CHAPTER 2

Five people ran down the tunnels, their clothes billowing behind them. Four of the figures shook back their left sleeves.
Carter’s breath came in steady bursts. All the exercise he had done all his life was paying off, he was as fit as he would ever be. He gazed at the device on his wrist. He pressed a button, and the silver cover flipped open to reveal a red and metallic blue panel, set with a gold dial. He heard three of his team-mates do the same.
“Overdrive Rescue!”
Four figures ran through a vortex of their own ranger colour, surrounding them in swirls of effervescent light. A Compass came shooting through the light, and slammed onto their chests – revolving unimaginably fast before coming to a halt, dead center. The light swirls past faster, and the basic framework of a helmet forms round the face of the ranger – glowing while materialising from the top to the bottom. A silver mouthpiece forms, and black vents get punched into the mouthpiece. The visor shines from left to right, and the headlights above the visor flash in succession, as many times as their ranger designation – Carter’s shone once, Chad’s shone thrice, Kelsey’s shone four times, and finally, Dana’s shone five times.
Carter bent his knees, preparing for the drop. As soon as the morph was completed, he started to run again – upon reaching the ground in the exact same place, he wouldn’t lose the half a minute or so tripping up as he always did.
The problem with the morph was that it occurred outside space and time – therefore, for example, if you were running before the morph, and morphed, all the momentum that should have occurred while the morph was taking place will have been saved, and exerted as soon as the morph was completed.
The four carried on running. Raj gazed at their swiftly departing forms, and sighed. He removed his Accellular from his pocket, and started to run…in a direction completely different from that of his team-mates.

The rangers ran forward, blasting obstacles out of the way. They reached the room full of destroyed Gunners, and came to a halt.
“Carter….what exactly are we looking for?” asked Chad.
“ Well…it’s…time travel.”
“What?!” Kelsey spun on the spot swiftly to gaze at the cold black visor on the Red ranger’s helmet. It stared back, unyielding.
“You see…Lightspeed has been developing this technology, especially for situations like this.”
“But…how?” enquired Dana.
“- and also, are we sure it’s a good thing?” asked Chad.
“Yeah…it could be a curse rather than a blessing…many a man have been corrupted by immense power.”
“What?” enquired Dana sharply.
“ I don’t necessarily mean your father, Dana,” soothed Chad, “ but the simple fact of having time travel at our disposal…its frightening.”
“But, it could be a good thing. We could use this to fight crime in a way unseen by anyone.”
“You know Carter, I think you’re getting ahead of yourself…we are Rescuers, not police.”
A familiar voice rang out through the helmets.
“Yeah…after all, if we evolve into police that use time as a weapon, we might get stuck with a crappy name like[I/]Time force..."
“[I]Joel!” the rangers shouted together.
“Yup...can’t keep me down, can ya?” He sounded weak.
“Of course not…even gravity couldn’t do so, Sky cowboy.” Said Chad happily.
Carter stepped forward. “Joel, don’t worry. We’re minutes away from you.”
“Good…hurry, guys. I can’t feel my legs…”

Dana stepped to the side, drawing her Survi-Buster. She held her hands steady, and blasted rocks into pieces, and then kicked the debris flying towards them out of the way. Kelsey dived forward, and entered the room. She gasped, and ran towards Joel, lying battered and bruised under some heavy debris and rocks. Carter darted forwards, and freed the fallen ranger.
“Thanks man…” Said Joel weakly.
“No problem…” Grunted Carter, heaving Joel onto his back .
“Uh….Carter?” asked Dana.
“Yeah?”
“Where’s Raj?”
Carter looked around. He was nowhere in sight. “I don’t know where he wen –”
But he never finished his sentence. At that exact moment, panels slid down on the walls, and black energy waves lashed out, slamming into the rangers.

Its always painful, being forcibly demorphed. While morphed, your body is attached to the suit – like a drop of solder attaching two wires together. . Normally, when a ranger demorphs, the extreme energy dispersed is enough to “melt” the solder, and the suit retreats back into the morpher or place of origin, and the wires separate. However, when the demorph is not controlled, the process is very painful. The two wires, the two forms of matter, the human and the suit are ripped apart, and the excess energy is split into two entities – the suit, where it disperses during the regenerative process, and the ranger him/herself, where it dissipates around the body of the ranger. However, a human is not accustomed to this kind of energy, so the process is usually very painful, and in extreme cases, life threatening. However, recent technological advances have managed to convert 30% of the energy into glowing balls of light on the body of the ranger – harmless, and significantly reducing the pain. But whichever way you look at it, demorphing is an amazingly painful process, and a completely undesirable one at that.

The rangers were thrown backwards, and slammed into various hard objects. Joel heard something crack.
A shape was barely visible in the smoke – but it was becoming clearer. A metallic nozzle emerged, and pressed against the head of Carter Grayson, the Red Overdrive Ranger.

A bang echoed throughout the chamber, along with several screams.

Here we go...Chapter three. Please respond, people! :)

Raj K. Saxena ran through the cavernous chambers of the underground tunnels. He knew what he was doing, he knew there was no chance of stopping his frien – Team-mates, and he knew what would happen when they reached the cavern where Joel was.
He heard sounds coming from the tunnels in front of him, echoing in the shallow tubes. He reached a junction. Noises were coming from the lane on the left. He peered round the corner. Small beams of light were coming from a room….guarded with what seemed like a small army of Gunners.
He stepped backwards, pulling open a pouch on his shoulder. He carried on walking backward, moving to a safe distance, when he slipped. A pole was rolling away, the noise echoing through the tunnels. He fell backwards, and dropped to the ground.
There was no chance of the silent entrance now. He sighed, then waited. Within seconds, dozens of Gunners were pouring out of the room. They stopped, and stared at Raj. Well, they might as well have been, seeing as they didn’t have eyes.
They started to advance.
He pulled a device from the open pocket on his shoulder, flicking the cover open. The device beeped three times, followed by a metallic chunk. He smiled to himself, and pressed the center button.
“Accellular! Start up!”
A lone figure ran through a world of swirling silver. His body, save his head started to glow, until it was completely white. The overdrive compass shot up in front of him, and he ran straight through, coming through on the other side with a body of swirling silver and black – which flashed, before settling into his ranger uniform. Streaks of electric blue appeared on his shoulders, boot cuffs and glove cuffs, before settling into metal pads.
A silver helmet flashed up his face, ending in a silver streak on the top of the helmet. A vertical streak of light flashed from both ends of his helmet, meeting in the middle six times before finally stopping,
A silver figure dropped down, in the midst of the Gunner army. They all turned towards him, raising their Blaster arms. He smiled in his helmet, and raised his arms in the traditional combat style. For a split second, their heads tilted, before he struck.

A ribbon of smoke rose a batch of circuits. Raj looked down, and surveyed his handiwork. A bunch of brutally destroyed Gunners.
Next time…Perhaps I’ll try…he thought to himself, and started to run down the tunnel, till he reached the room. He entered, removing his helmet and placing it on a nearby console. He shook his straight hair from his eyes, and pressed a button on a panel in front of him. All around him, monitors flickered to life. He stared at the various screens, before coming to a rest in front of one that appeared to be the security surveillance. He pulled a chair towards him, and sat down – only to leap back up again. He looked at the chair, and realised that he should have known better – this was a chair designed for Gunners. Gunners were robots. And as such, they needed to recharge. Gunners aren’t human, and they can recharge in places where we cant, like their posterior. And Raj had conveniently managed to seat himself right on the charging plugs.

Leaping up, he glared at the chair, and kicked it away. He bent down, and manipulated the keyboard, until the surveillance footage appeared on the massive wall that the console was set in. A projector from the back of the room threw out a powerful beam of light, and in a few seconds everything settled and he could see everything clearly. The monitor didn’t seem to be designed to human eyes; the colours were overly bright and obscured the actual images. He stepped backward, and stared at the wall. He went limp for a second, and then picked up his helmet and ran.

Carter stared at the barrel of the gun pressed to his head. It was in the hand of Gunner, but this wasn’t some ordinary blaster. This was a gun. He closed his eyes, and awaited the end.
A bang echoed through the chamber, followed by several screams.

Carter opened his eyes. He wasn’t dead. He looked up, and saw a blade four inches from his nose. The Gunner was still there, though there was a large silver line through the middle…and slowly, it peeled apart from the centre. Raj was standing behind it, his Saga Saber in his hand. He held out a gloved hand, and pulled Carter up to his feet.
“Thanks” Carter panted. He looked around. So did Raj.
“ We had better depart…” mused Raj, “ I doubt we will be alone here for much longer.”
“ Agreed. Lets go.”
Carter pulled Joel over his shoulder, and Raj picked the other rangers up, dusting them down and checking them for injuries. They all seemed fine, though Carter noticed that his hand lingered on Dana’s shoulder for a few seconds longer than necessary…Not that she minded, from the way she was leaning on his arm.
The party headed towards the door way, when something entered the cave. Something with a device clutched in its hand. Or, rather, two devices.
“ No!” shouted Carter.
“ What?” asked Raj warily.
“ That thing he’s holding…it’s the very same thing we came to retrieve.”
“ And the other thing?”
“ I believe that’s a bomb. A very powerful bomb.”
“ Oh dear.”
“ To put it politely, yes. Oh dear.”
The thing grinned. Then tapped the bomb. Another Gunner entered the cavernous room. It was holding a gun. The figure holding the bomb and time device dropped both, and pressed a button on his wrist. He disappeared. Carter and Raj looked at the Gunner warily. Something bad would happen, and they knew they wouldn’t like it. The Gunnner prepared to fire, when The two acted, Carter dropping Joel on the ground.
“Ouch!”
They darted forwards, shouting –
“Overdrive Rescue!”
“ Accellular! Start up!”
Too late. The Gunner had fired.
00:03
“ No!” screamed Carter, midway through his morph. Raj dived forwards, and grabbed the Time device, holding it to his chest before scrambling backwards. The whole team huddled into a corner.
00:01
00:00
The morph hadn’t completed, the room was still full of swirling light as the flames screamed from the bomb, eradicating everyone and everything in the cave.

Keep the morphs in Italics, it helps to tell the difference between talking about the morphing sequance and the actual morphing sequance in progress. My only possible complaint is this is a really dark start, but I guess that's mainly to set the mood of the fic.

I like the concept since Boukenger is Bioman 4 in some countries. GoGo V being Bioman 3. But the whole changer switch up I am not to fond of. But the story is good.

PS I know you are useing the lightspeed and not gogo v cast. sorry for the sentai reference.

CHAPTER 4

Chad opened his eyes slowly. He blinked furiously, trying to remove the particles of dust in his vision. He felt a hand on his arm. He looked over. Kelsey was unconscious, her limp left hand resting on Chad’s forearm. He smiled to himself, before gently removing it and placing her arm on her stomach. Joel and Dana were lying in the rubble. Chad noticed that Carter had placed Dana quite some distance from the flirtatious sky cowboy.
“ Ah….you’re awake…”
Chad looked up. Carter looked down, relief flooding his features.
“ What happened, Carter?”
“ I don’t know. The bomb blew up…and we ended up here.”
A sudden sound interrupted their conversation. Raj staggered back, covered in egg yolks, fruit pulps and juices and what seemed to be several bins worth of rubbish. Chad stared at him. Then began to laugh, even though the action forced his chest to convulse violently. He fell to the ground. Raj didn’t help him up.
“ What happened to me? What happened to me? I was attacked on the streets! People threw rubbish at me! Rubbish, at the silver ranger! RUBBISH!”
“Calm down, man…” soothed Carter. Raj glared at the both of them, then flicked his straight black hair from his face.

Raj K. Saxena was an average child. Good grades, reasonable good looks and a sharp mind. The real let down were his parents.
Drunken alcoholics, he learned when he was five to never ask them for anything after they had been drinking – of course, it didn’t help when they were sober – he had often been the object of a sharp slap or punch. But he loved his parents, even though they refused to buy him toys or books, refused to meet him at the end of his first day at school, (he had to take a ride back to his house with a friend) and refused to feed, clothe or wash him. He would have to wake himself up in the mornings by himself, wash, and make breakfast for himself and his parents. Failure to do so would result all too often in a smack and a thorough shouting at. After returning home, he would have to do his own homework – most of the time his parents weren’t sober enough to read what was assigned to him, if they had cared. Then, make the family dinner and wash up. If he was lucky, he could catch a few minutes of television, but mostly, he would retreat to his room and cry himself to sleep under the covers.
It was only during his mid-teens that he really bloomed – He shot up, both in terms of height and academically. He had learned to teach himself from the age of seven, so schoolwork wasn’t really a problem for him anymore. His face lost all the puppy-fat and plumpness, and his hair straightened out and grew long and fine.
At the age of fifteen, he was tall, slim to the point of unhealthiness, and confident. His medium-length hair often shot down in sharply defined spikes, or around his head like he had been electrocuted. His eyes were deep green, and his face masked a dark soul.
He had learned to fight not long after. Once, when walking back from a Parents evening at his school, (he had attended alone) he took a shortcut o his house through a well known Chav spot. They immediately descended on him, beating the “little prick” to a pulp and stealing everything of importance before tossing him bodily out of the alley. His Knowledge of simple karate had abandoned him. Battered, bruised and bloodied, he retreated to his room and took welcome reprieve in his bed.
His thirst for revenge taught him faster than his new Karate teacher ever could; within a week he had jumped from a strong but technique-less child to a strong fighter. He stuck at his Karate, and within another week of solid training returned to the “Chav-zone” and found the same group that had humiliated him so badly.
His revenge was not pleasant. Within five minutes, every member save one of the gang was on the floor, clutching his stomach or limbs, gasping in pain, the items they had taken back with their owner. Raj stared at the last one, and he blanched, dropping the mobile phone he had stolen into Raj’s outstretched hand. That 18 year old was never seen in the neighbourhood again.
Raj had no reason to attack them further; he was not a vindictive person. He had taken his revenge, and he was happy with it. Over time, he learned different techniques, and revelled in the fact that he could easily block a drunken punch from his father and retaliate – not that he ever did fight back.

Hmmm...i dnt like this chapter much.
But like the previosu one, i felt it necessary, so here...

CHAPTER 5

“Raj?”
He turned, staring at Chad.
“ Do you know why they might have done this?”
“ To be honest, I have no idea. As soon as people saw me, they became livid…shouted words like ‘Disgusting’, ‘Sick’ and ‘Freak’. Apparently, I deserve to ‘rot in hell’. ”
“ Hmmm…lets see.”
The three of them walked out of the alley they were enclosed in warily, Raj wringing out his gloves. A stream of garbage water flowed out. Raj looked disgusted momentarily, then stuffed the gloves back in his pocket.
The trio walked out of the alley into a street. Chad heard people scream and gasp, and some, rather rude cursing. He stared at the approaching crowds, and blanched.
They were livid.
The three rangers huddled into a corner, staring at the angry mob.
“ What’s going on?” asked Carter. People were yelling and throwing things, mostly garbage. Raj used some rather spectacular moves to manoeuvre around a large vodka bottle that had come his way.
“ What are you doing?!” asked Chad. He strained to hear what the mob was shouting.
“ Sick!”
“ Show some respect!”
“ What’s the MATTER with you?!?!”
Carter stepped forward. “ People! What’s going on here?”
Someone stepped forward. “I just want to say that you are sick. Those poor rangers gave their lives for this city, and THIS is how you repay them?”
“ What?” chorused the three rangers.
“ You heard me…you’re sick. Absolutely sick. Show some respect. And to go around looking exactly like them…I don’t know how you did it, but changing your face to look like those poor heroes…you’re despicable.” He spat on the ground.
“ What?!” choked Raj. “ WE ARE the rangers.”
“Yeah…why would we lie?” added Carter.
“ Sure. Whatever. Get out of our city, you freaks.”
“ But…” stammered Chad, though he was cut off. Raj made a sudden movement.
“ I’m sick of people doubting me…” he said, voice breaking at the end. He pulled out his Accellular, and shouted,
“ Accellular! Start up! Silver ranger!”
Nothing happened. He stared at the device. The shouts grew louder, and he felt something hard impact on his head. He glared up, and saw a teenage punk – the usual, full of himself jock.
“ Haha man. What do you think you’re playin at, mate? Retard…” He lifted his hand up again, and threw another apple at Raj.
Something snapped.
Within seconds, Raj had flows forwards, scattering the crown, desperately clawing at the jock. Carter and Chad struggled to hold him back, while the kid simply laughed. Chad was amazed, Raj’s face showed pure hatred as he broke free. The jock paled and ran, Raj in hot pursuit, roaring like a demon. Carter and Chad followed, Chad pressing a button on his Morpher. A chip, like a poker chip with the Overdrive symbol on it emerged from end of the morpher, with a metallic chink.
He took careful aim, and threw it. It flew forwards, and clipped Raj on the ankle. He stumbled and fell, giving them enough time to catch up to him.
Chad was alarmed. Raj was livid, clawing at the air, the occasional scream emerging from his throat.
“ Raj!” snapped Carter. Raj stopped mid-scream, and got to his feet. Chad released him warily.
“ Pull yourself together, Raj.”
“ Yeah…I jus-I just…” Raj stopped in mid sentence, and turned around. He started running in the opposite direction, and soon vanished into the distance.

“ Whaaaaat,” began Chad, “ was that all about?”
“ I don’t know…but it is disturbing. He is a ranger, and we CANNOT have this kind of unrestrained insanity from our team. I may have to dismiss him.” Said Carter in a flat, dull tone. Chad spun him around, staring him down.
“ What the hell is the matter with you? Something is wrong, and you know it. Now, the question is, leader, what are you going to do?”
“ Chad Lee, I will not accept that kind of behave-”
“ Who do you think you are, man?” came a voice. The two of them spun round, and saw Joel limping towards them. He had a determined look on his face.
“ Just ‘cause you have a shiny new suit Joel Rawlings, doesn’t mean tha-”
“ I do have a shiny new suit, Carter. And luckily for me, MINE hasn’t gone to my head! What’s happened to you, man? You used to know how to lead…”
And on that note, Joel and Chad walked back to the rest of the team.

May I ask why the chapters are so short? It would seem like 1 chapter would involve the location and situation they are in now and then chapter 2 would move on to other events. Perhaps it's just that I like my stories a bit longer.

Overall, I think it's a good start. Though you may want to go back and edit chapter 2 to fix the italics and the html code that doesn't seem to be working.

CHAPTER 6

Raj walked down the street, careful to stay hidden from the crowds. He stared at the Accellular in his hand. Why hadn’t it worked? Why hadn’t the Morph Worked? Why? He shook himself mentally, and decided to have another go. He stopped in the alleys, and raised the device.
“ Accellular! Start up!”
Nothing happened. He shook the morpher, and tried again.
“ Accellular, Start up!”
“ Accellular, Start up!”
“ ACCELLULAR! START UP!”
Nothing happened. Raj threw the Accellular into the wall in a fit of range, and immediately regretted it. This was the best piece of kit he had – and he couldn’t afford to let it die.
He picked the device up from the floor. Amazingly, he thought, it wasn’t damaged, save for a few flecks of paint. Hmmm… he mused. I’ll have to re-do that…

Carter walked off in the opposite direction from Joel and Chad. He heard Chad’s words echoing in his head.
What’s happened to you, man? You used to know how to lead…He probed his mind. Have I changed? Really? I “used to know” how to lead? What the hell does that mean? Of course I know how to lead…after all, if it weren’t for me, the whole team would be falling apart…
He lost himself in his thoughts, barely realising where he was going. He bumped into a man, and stopped.
“ Sorry,” he began, but the man cut him off with a stream of angry muttering.
“ Yeah, whatever…you cant expect any cooperation after what you’ve been doing, all round town, you angry son of a bit-” He left before he could finish his angry ramble.
Carter stared at him, and then shrugged. He looked down, and realised the man had dropped his newspaper.
“ Hey! Wait! You dropped your newspa-” His voice suddenly stopped, his heart started to race. He stared at the headline of the paper. Stared, and then started to run.

Raj’s face slowly changed from puzzled, to shocked. The change was almost comical, the way his eyebrows changed from being arched in concentration, to raised in disbelief. His mouth slowly dropped open, and the colour drained from his face.
He started to run.

Two dark figures crept down an alleyway. One held an item in its hand. A timer glowed eerie red on its face.
They set it down, next to a building. A sign around 30 meters to the left red,
MARINER BAY
ELEMENTRY SCHOOL.
One giggled, and bent down to press a button next to the timer, when a blast echoed throughout the street and something hit the finger of the shadowed figure. It leapt up, cursing, and turned to face what had attacked it.
It blanched.
Six figures were stood on the field before them – blocking their only exit.
Six figures.
A Pink figure.
A Yellow figure.
A Green figure.
A Blue figure.
A Red figure.
And a Silver figure.
They looked amazingly impressive and intimidating – the sun shining behind them shone out blindingly from their bodies, giving them a blurred, almost heavenly appearance.

Raj K. Saxena stopped running. He just needed a few seconds rest…He realised that he was at the school…he stopped, and smiling, looked through one of the classroom windows.
The innocence of youth.. he sighed to himself, and then turned, when something caught his eye. He did a double take…he thought he just saw the rangers, but that was impossible…HE was one of the rangers, right?
But this strand of reasoning soon fizzled out, as he saw the six figures, their glittering backs towards him. The figures seemed to shine, each giving off their own sparkle, their own effervescent light. He stared, then ran round to get a proper look at them.
What he saw stopped him in is tracks.
The Rescue rangers.
But there was something different about these…Their whole image was different, more jagged, more sharp. Almost…evil.
He stared as they moved forward as one, and pulled out their side-arms. They were even using upgraded versions of the original Lightspeed weapons…But they were branded with the Overdrive compass. All the Lightspeed logos had been replaced.
Raj watched as Yellow and Pink quickly dispatched one of the villains with almost inhuman efficiency; they cocked their weapons and fired the shot in under a second. The other villain watched in shocked horror as the villain who had been shot fell, two steaming bullet holes in its head.
Raj was shocked. This wasn’t the way of Lightspeed, Lightspeed aimed to defeat villains, but not in this way…Raj knew there was something wrong with this, but he just couldn’t place his finger on it.
The blue and Green rangers stepped forward, and advanced. The other villain tensed, and backed into a corner.
The rangers spun their weapons, swiftly changing them from blaster to blade mode. They advanced menacingly, in a way that would have sent shivers even down Raj’s spine.
“Stop!” he yelled, running forwards. The Silver ranger swatted him away without so much as a flicker. Raj spun backwards, momentarily paralysed by the amazing strength that had struck him.
He fell to the ground, and looked up in time to see the Green and Blue rangers striding back into formation, blades glinting.
He stared at the floor, and retched. Pieces of flesh and bond were lying in a heap on the paving, gleaming with blood.
The timer had started; there must have been some way to trigger it without pressing the button. The Red and Silver rangers stepped forward. The red ranger removed the blaster from his holster, spinning it around before pointing it at the two corpses. He pressed the trigger, and a red beam shot out, vapourising the two bodies.
The silver ranger stepped forward, and bent down. After fiddling around with the wires for a while, he stood up, and pulled his Laser axe out. Raj stared. It was longer, and sharper than what he ever remembered, even in Mrs Fairweathers most extreme blueprints. The ranger pressed a button, and the Axe began transforming in his hand, until it had switched to laser mode. The barrel extended with a metallic click.
Raj shielded his eyes. A wise decision – the ranger had just shot the bomb. Shards of metal and brick flew everywhere, and cascaded freely onto the rangers who didn’t even flinch. The metal impacted on their visors, and their suits.
Raj felt an overpowering sense of awe – they were so impressive, standing there with debris cascading against them and they weren’t even flinching. Raj decided to move – kneeling next to obviously powerful warriors wasn’t the best thing to do if you were powerless. He got to his feet quietly, and started to, once again, run.

Carter was running down a road, when a figure collided with him. A figure covered in scraps of rubbish.
“ Carter!” he panted.
“ Raj! Thank god I’ve found you…I cant believe what I’ve just seen…”
“ Me neither…Carter man…”Raj began, but Carter cut him off.
“ I know…”, Carter began. He and Raj said the next few words together, in perfect unison.
“ We’re Officially dead.”

May I ask why the chapters are so short?

.

yes, you may. :)
Basically, while these chapters may be short, it takes a while to write, and are about 2 pages long on word.
thats why.

You can take more time and make them longer. I usually do chapters of about 8 or 10 pages on word. I think people in here like longer chapters because you can explain better.:)

Thats true...
it just doesnt suit my style to be honest....if i work on something for that long, then i tend to lose interest.
Maybe after a few more chapters, ill compile all the seperate chapters into a few in my first post.

Guess that makes sense then, we wouldn't want you to stop writing cold turkey. ;) Putting them together later on could work well. Especially if you stick with this thing for a while.
