*Author note- This is a fic written in request of Tv1boy over at the Power Ranger Romantics Clan Thread. It features one of his original characters and some characters from MF and it takes place before Mystic Fate*
One a sunny day in Briarwood a boy about 18 was sitting on a bench in the park apparently waiting for someone. The weather was beautiful; one of those days you know is going to turn out good. But in Briarwood there is something you have to learn. Just because the weather is good, and you’re feeling great, that doesn’t mean it’s going to be a good day.
Craig Thomas sat waiting for someone. He had a grin on his face, so big anyone that walked by knew he was waiting for someone special. His leg kind of hopped in anticipation and he looked around anxiously for his date. But all feelings come to an end.
Nearby a mugger walked up to an old lady and grabbed her purse. The mugger pushed the woman down and started to run.
“Help!!” the woman cried. “That man stole my purse.”
Craig wanted to ignore the call. He really did but before he knew it he was running at super speed towards the mugger and stopped in front of him. The mugger looked at him in a very surprised face.
“What the hell?” the mugger exclaimed. He quickly followed up with a punch to Craig’s gut which didn’t seem to phase him at all. Craig grabbed the man by his shirt and lifted him up off the ground with one hand.
“When will they learn?” Craig asked himself sarcastically. He then took off into the sky with the mugger.
He flew over the suburbs of Briarwood and went downtown. He landed on the top of a skyscraper and put the mugger down.
“Can I have the purse please?” Craig asked straightforwardly.
The mugger shook his head dumbfounded and handed the purse to the boy.
“Now I want you to stay here and think about what..” Craig started but stopped as he noticed a girl in a blue sweater walking towards the bench he was sitting on before the mugger interrupted him.
He flew off at super sonic speed. As he passed over the women he dropped the purse and she waved at the blur of light and thanked it. Craig realized he would not make it to the bench so he landed nearby and jogged over waving at his date.
“Hey Madison,” Craig said as he walked over to the dark haired girl. “How are you?”
Madison Rocca is not your typical girl. Like Craig she had a secret. One she had to keep. She is the Blue Mystic Ranger, one of the defenders of Briarwood against the dark magical forces. She is also very shy. Going out on dates is not like her.
“Hi Craig,” Madison answered softly. “I’m good. How are you?
“I’m fine” He answered. “So how about some lunch?”
“Lunch is good,” she answered. “Everyone’s has to eat”
“Good lets go”
The two walked down the streets of Briarwood talking amongst themselves about different first date subjects including likes, dislikes, favorite things, family, pet peeves ect. Craig stopped them at a tiny outdoor restaurant where the two got seats.
“So your sister seems like an interesting person,” Craig said.
“Vida’s a character” Madison said chuckling. “But I love her. Do you have any siblings?”
“No,” Craig answered. “My parents died before her and my dad could have any more kids. after that my foster mother Sarah took me in.”
“I’m sorry Craig”
“No, its fine,” Craig answered. “Lets eat.”
A familiar beeping noise came from Madison’s pocket who hopped up at the sign of it.
“I’m so sorry Craig,” Madison said. “I have to go. This was great and I hope we can do this again soon.”
“What why?”
“I just realized I have to do something,” she said while walking away. “Call me”
Craig thought to himself ‘What just happened there? Was it me?’ just then he heard an explosion in the city and his curiosity got the best of him. He got up, went into an alley and flew.
When he got close enough he saw five colored figures fighting a black vampire like female creature. He noticed the Blue Ranger was in trouble being held by the Creature known as Necrolai. Anger fumed inside of him and he charger at the creature. Madison noticed the boy coming at her and the creature.
“Craig?” Madison questioned.
Madison jumped out of the way and Necrolai fired blast of energy at all the rangers. They were all caught by surprise and demorphed. Craig then crapped the Hag and they two fought for dominance in the sky.
“Who are you?” Necrolai asked.
“Superboy,” he answered calmly and he threw the hag to the ground. Necrilai caught herself and flew away.
“Good-bye for now rangers,” Necrolai said as she flew away.
Craig then flew back to where the rangers were standing. And looked surprised at who he saw. But didn’t say anything. The red ranger Nick Russell spoke up.
“Hey,” Nick said. “Thanks for the help buddy”
“Yah what’s your name?” the Australian green ranger Xander Bly asked.
“Uhh,” Madison started. “His name is Craig.”
Vida looked at her sister in surprise.
“Your date?” She asked.
“Yah,” Craig answered. “Uh Maddy, You’re a Power Ranger?”
“Yah,” Madison answered. “Guilty. I’m the Blue ranger. But Craig, You’re a, what exactly are you?”
“I’m known as SuperBoy.” He explained. Gifted with the power of flight, super speed and strength yadda yadda yadda.”
“Wow another superhero,” Chip exclaimed. “so do you have a cape?”
“Do I need one though,” Craig explained. “Could you help me with that?”
“Could I ever,” Chip answered.
“Hey Maddy seeing as we both know each others secrets,” Craig started. “What do you say we go for dinner in Paris.
Madison nodded and the two were off. Madison morphed and was riding her Mystic Racer and Craig was flying right next to her. The two looked at each other and smiled.
“So that was an interesting first date” Madison said. “I can’t wait to see what you have planned for tonight”
