Tonight at like 4:00 AM I went to my local Meijer's store to do some last minute X-Mas shopping. If you don't live in the Great Lakes area, Meijer's is a 24-Hour retail store kind of like a K-Mart or Wal-Mart, but really big and has both retail stuff and groceries.

Anyways, they are doing remodeling at the store so everything is all crazy, not to mention the X-Mas rush and in the pile of crap in the toy section I found a Power Rangers relic.

We're not talking old Wild Force figures. We're not talking some leftover Lightspeed Rescue party hats. I found a pack of playing cards from MMPR. That's season ONE mind you, with the classic Megazord and no traces of the Green Ranger whatsoever.

I was shocked, I mean yeah it's just playing cards, but that's nearly fifteen years old! HOW did something like that survive and not get bought or thrown out or whatever? I'm assuming it was probably in the back and ended up out front during the shuffle.

Needless to say, at the scant price of $1.99 I bought them (as a stocking stuffer for my brother, who grew up on MMPR too and needs cards to play poker with.)

They were so old that the wouldn't even ring up because they weren't in the inventory. It was insane.

I just thought I'd let you guys know, I thought it was funny. Old School Power Rangers isn't completely out of the public yet, there's still a few traces of it hiding here and there.

Anyone else have a similar story?

I never would have thought they'd make toys based on that show, never mind finding all four of 'em right here in Singapore.

I not only had all four of them as a kid but I also had the van.

I found a few of those in the summer. I pity the fool.
