No, this is not related to the DaVinci Code.
Some of you hay have heard of something called The Geek Code (http://www.geekcode.com/). it's been around since 1993, though it hasn't been updated since 1996. There's a lot of spinoffs of the Geek Code that have popped up around the Net over the years, including goth and furry codes. For those unfamiliar with the Geek Code or its knockoffs, it's a block of code that seems like computer programming at first look, but in reality details everything about your personality, lifestyle, computer knowledge, and geek-level. People familiar with the code can look at your own personal Geek Code and tell at a glance (or after backchecking against the webpage) all about you.
I was goofing around, browsing the Geek Code site in nostalgia yesterday morning when it hit me. It's been almost 15 seasons since PR started. With as many Geek Code parodies as there are out there, why hadn't anyone made a PR one? Of course, someone may very well have made one and I just didn't know. But at any rate, I decided to sit down and come up with one. I thought it would be a fun ride, and would be something to waste an hour of my morning with before I sat down to watch Kamen Rider Kabuto 28.
Twenty hours later, I'm just now finishing the full design for v1.1 and the associated webpage that explains it all. I haven't gone to sleep yet, and I don't know what the hell I was thinking. But here it is.

The code is designed somewhat similar to the Geek Code, but also borrows from a Sonic the Hedgehog-based code that was made some time ago. But it works the same way theoretically. People familiar with the code can look at your own personal PR code, and tell at a glance what your favorite seasons, episodes, and characters are, how much money you've spent on toys and DVD's, what aspects of the fandom you're involved in, whether you've been to cons and met show actors, and so on. Ideally, you can place this code in your e-mail/message board signatures or AIM/LJ profiles so that everyone can see what type of a fan you are.
I also realize that people are, in general, too lazy to want to sit and decode everybody else's PR Code by hand to figure out what type of fan they are, so I also included an automatic decoding script on that page. You can take someone else's code, put it in a text box on that page, hit the Submit button, and get a detailed explanation of everything about their PR-lifestyle in seconds. Making that script is actually what kept me up the full 20 hours; the code itself only took me about 2 or 3 hours to design.
So anyways, check the page out, have fun making your personal code, and spread the word. Also, if you have any suggestions for useful categories to add, feel free to let me know. My own code, for the record, is:
PRv1.1 Gm A! Lnc K! Rn Wd S09 E475 C04kh++s C12ej+i B++lacrpo Dbfrwo $!
And now, it's time for me to grab a quick breakfast and then get some f'ing sleep.
