I've lurked here for awhile, but have never posted. I hope this is the place to stick this.
I've been working for awhile on plotting out a reimagining of the Ranger universe. I'm keeping many of the elements that were presented on the show, but mostly of past events, although they have taken a new twist under my thoughts.
It won't be set in the television universe, and all the Ranger characters will be original. Zordon, and many of the mentor and extra Ranger characters will still be present (Trey and Dulcea factor into the series in a major way).
I have roughly seven seasons planned out of material for this show, although some may be condensed in editing, as all I have are rough ideas for how things should go. The first season is fully plotted, by episodes, and I've begun the first episode.
The reason for my posting is that I'm looking for a co-writer. At a point in Season Three, there will be two active Ranger teams going, and Season's Five and Six will have two teams also, but they will not be as intertwined as the teams in Three will be. In Season Seven, I intend to use a more anthology format for the early season, and there will be roughly four Ranger teams active at one time.
So basically, I'm going to need a full on co-writer for those portions. I would like to get one on board before I begin, so I can get help in fleshing out plot lines, and deciding if we can condense any of the seasons together.
Just to not make this seem like a subordinate position (and it most certainly isn't), I would like to throw it out there that the co-writer will have full say in what goes on, although I believe I've constructed a pretty good rough outline of an epic saga.
My co-writer will be given (near) full charge over any characters that he will be writing in a full team setting, and I will reiterate that he or she will be given the full outline at the very beginning, and will have a say in the overall plot just as much as I will (beyond writing the initial sketch, of course).
A second reason for wanting a co-writer is that he'll be able to read over my initial season as I work on it, and get creative input on character that he will be primarily writing in the future. My main writing forte has always been in e-feds (for those of you who know what they are), and I primarily used a script format.
As I understand it, those aren't looked upon very highly here, so I'm going to attempt to venture into the standard story format. Also, I'd prefer it if my co-writer was skilled at writing action sequences, as those are certainly not my forte.
Any interested can catch me on AIM at realshadymike14, can email me at phoenixlane@gmail.com, or can (as a last resort) PM me on here.
I would prefer AIM, as I'll be able to catch you in a conversational setting, and outline my story with you able to drop in questions as we go.
Thanks guys, I'm not sure if I'll be able to ever get this story done without a bit of help.
