Love in the Lost Galaxy
Terra Venture spirals through the dark starry sky of Earth.
On Terra Venture in the Science Lab, Kendrix is viewing a plant specimen through a microscope. She looks away and scribbles something down on a notepad. The door opens and Maya steps in.
"Hey, Kendrix." said Maya
"Hi. I'm just finishing up." said Kendrix, looking up at her.
"Okay. " said Maya, sitting down at Kendrix's desk.)
Kendrix continued to scribble down on her notepad.
"So...when are you gonna tell, Leo how you feel about him?" said Maya, suddenly.
Kendrix stopped writing and turned to look at Maya, who was smiling.
"I don't feel anything for Leo, except friendship." said Kendrix.
"Look, I know that Leo is a hot head sometimes..." began Maya.
"...And arogant, immature, especially."
"But you love him..." finished Maya.
"Maya," said Kendrix, pausing for a moment, "Leo doesn't feel the same way. I refuse to give my heart to someone who won't accept it."
"You don't know that, unless you try." said Maya, simply. She got to her feet. "You should really talk to him, before the next monster attacks."
Kendrix put her notepad on the desk, and followed Maya out of the room.
Leo, Kai, Damion, and Mike were eating lunch at a small café in the City Dome, when Maya and Kendrix arrived.
"Hi, guys." said Maya, brightly.
"Hey," they chanted.
Maya elbowed Kendrix in the elbow, and who gave her a stern look.
“Um, Leo?” said Kendrix.
Leo turned around and looked at Kendrix.
“Yeah,” he said.
The sound of his voice, made Kendrix’s heart jump. She couldn’t do this. It was impossible…
“Can you come walk with me?” she asked.
“Sure,” said Leo, getting to his feet.
They walked away from the café and walked toward the nearby forest. It was dark, yet it had a mysterious beauty to it.
“What’s up?” asked Leo, grinning.
“Nothing,” said Kendrix. “I just wanted to walk and needed someone to walk with.” She knew before she even said it, that it was stupid.
“And you just so happen to choose me,” said Leo, smiling again. “Is there something you wanna, say Kendrix?
They stopped.
“Well, yes.” said Kendrix. “I…well…I”
An explosion erupted near them.
“What was that?” said Leo, looking around.
A polar bear type monster appeared in front of them.
“I’m Polaris! Ready to get your freeze, on?!” he roared.
“Go Galaxtic!” they shouted.
They morphed into the Red and Pink Galaxy Rangers. They pulled out their Quasar Sabers and began to attack Polaris. Leo dodged a punch, but low kicked him. Polaris stumbled, just as Kendrix jumped into the air, and struck him with her saber. Sparks flew. He fell to the ground.
“That’s all you got!” shouted Polaris, sending a jet of blue lightning at them. Sparks flew and they fell to the ground.
“Leo…he’s tough.” said Kendrix, panting.
“We can take him!” shouted Leo. He ran at Polaris, who sent another jet of lightning at him. Leo redirected the lightning to Polaris. He sparked several times, and fell to the ground and exploded.
“Power down,” they said together. There’s suits vanishing.
“Now…what is it, you wanted to tell me?” asked Leo.
“I can’t do this.” said Kendrix.
“Can’t do what, Kendrix?” asked Leo.
“This,” said Kendrix.
“Well, I got something I wanna say.” said Leo, grinning slightly.
“What is it?” asked Kendrix, her glasses askew. Leo pushed them back onto her nose, and they shared a nervous laugh.
“Well, I just wanted to say, your doing an amazing job as a Ranger, and scientist.” said Leo.
“That’s…that’s it.” said Kendrix, disappointment in her voice.
“Was there suppose to be something, else?” asked Leo.
“No,” said Kendrix. “No. I-I-I mean, of course not.” She sniffed, and looked up him. He was still gazing at her, through his blue eyes. “I wish, I hoped…” she began, but couldn’t finish. His eyes were looking into her soul, now and had to look away.
Leo took his hands and placed them on her face. So now, she was looking directly into his face.
“What do you want to say?” asked Leo, staring at her.
“I-I-I…” began Kendrix. “I love you, Leo.”
Kendrix stepped away, leaving Leo lost in thought.
“I better go.” said Kendrix, walking away.
“She love’s me.” said Leo, to himself.
Kendrix was once again, looking at the plant specimen. She looked up from the microscope.
“I feel so stupid.” said Kendrix, loudly.
“Why?” said a voice, from behind her.
She turned around to see Leo, standing in the doorway.
“How’d you know I was here?” asked Kendrix.
“I know you well enough to know that you’d come straight to the Science Lab.” said Leo. “We need to talk.”
“Sure,” said Kendrix, “lets talk.”
“Did you mean, what you said?” asked Leo, stepping closer to her.
“I wouldn’t have said it, if I didn’t mean it, Leo.” said Kendrix.
“So, you do love me?” asked Leo. “Why?”
“Yes, I do love you.” said Kendrix. “Your charming, free-spirited, respectful and daring. I don’t know why, but every time, I see you, I get weak, and you make my heart jump, with your voice. But I know you don’t feel the same way.”
“How do you know that?” asked Leo, eyeing her.
“You would never go for girls, like me, Leo. You want girls were are spontaneous and out-going. Not a nerd, who would prefer plants over a trip to the clubs.” said Kendrix.
Leo walked over to Kendrix. He was standing in front of her. He took her face in his hands again.
“I love you, Kendrix Morgan. I love everything about you, from your interest in science to being my friend.” said Leo.
“You do?” said Kendrix, taking hold of his hands. “Really?”
Leo nodded.
Kendrix reached up and pressed her lips against he’s. He moved his hands down to her waist and she moved her hands to his shoulders. It was truly magical. Her heart was fit to burst with so much love and passion that was exploding inside her. They broke apart, and they gazed into each others eyes again.
“I love you,” they said together, and they passionately kissed again….
