Int. Rootcore--Day
Clare walks into Rootcore, look glum. She sits down at a table, where a beautiful crystal vase sits. She does a hand gesture and the vase explodes. Clare squeals and stand up.
Udonna walks in and chuckles at Clare's misfortune.
"Child, what have you done?" said Udonna.
"Nothing," said Clare, looking at the ground. "This is taking alot more then I thought it would. I've practiced and practiced over and over, Udonna and I just can't get it.
"You can't give up, Clare. You've come to far." said Udonna, reasurring her.
"The Rangers are more advanced then I am." said Clare.
"That's an idea." said Udonna. "Why don't you go out with them today, Clare?"
"I've never left the forest Udonna." said Clare.
"I'll help you." said Udonna, holding out her hand. "Clothis Appearium!"
Clare's apprentice clothing vanished and was now wearing jeans and a sky-blue T-shirt.
"Teleportis, Briarwood!" said Udonna, and Clare bursted into small white lights.
Int. Rock Podium--Day
Clare appeared out of thin air, just as Leelee turned around from the counter.
"Where did you come, from?" she asked, looking at Clare's outfit. "Nice shirt." Leelee laughed and walked away, just as Xander walked over to her.
"Hi, Clare." said Xander. She looked so beautiful, even though she always did. "What brings you to Briarwood?"
"Udonna, thinks I should get out." said Clare. Xander gave her look. "With you guys, I mean."
"Oh," said Xander. "Well, everyone's gone to the Briarwood High Carnival."
"Aren't you going?" asked Clare.
"Unfortunately, for me, I don't a date. Its best to turn up with a date." he said. "Nick has Maddie, and Chip is with Vida. So, I'm left out."
Clare gazed at Xander, she never realized how cute he was. She blinked and moved her dirty blond hair back.
"Well...well...i-if you wanted to...I could be," said Clare, not knowing what she was saying.
"Could be, what?" asked Xander.
"Your...your...d-d-date." said Clare.
"Really?!" shouted Xander. He scooped Clare into his arms, and swung her around. "Thank-you."
"Your welcome." said Clare, getting to her feet.
Xander took his work off and they headed out of the door.
Int. Park--Day
Xander and Clare, walked next to each other.
"So, Clare, why is it, that you always stayed in Rootcore?" asked Xander.
"I don't have many friends." said Clare. "Actually, you guys are my only friends."
"Really?" said Xander.
"Yeah," said Clare. "You see, when I was younger, my mother was the GateKeeper and I was only a child, when she died. Udonna told me that she was very powerful, and how I'd inherit her power one day. I trained and trained, but I could never master magic. Along the way, I lost the only friends, I had in the process."
"Sad," said Xander. "I was always the sort of popular one. But I would had never thought you, were lonely."
"Its no big deal." said Clare. "I mean, I'm use to it. Being alone." She had turned red, as her eyes began to fill with tears.
"Don't cry, Clare." said Xander, soothingly. "It'll be okay."
There was a flash of light and an explosion erupted across the ground.
"What was that?!" shouted Xander.
Hidiacs were approaching.
"Hidiacs!" said Clare.
"I'll take of them. Get away." said Xander.
"I'm not leaving you." said Clare, getting into a fighting pose.
The Hidiacs attacked.
Xander blocked a punch from a Hidiac. He punched another one, and then kicked one coming at his right.
Clare grabbed a Hidiac's arm and through it into the air. She kicked another one. Then she a series of amazing backflips.
"Please work," said Clare, closing her eyes. She held up her hands. "Corium Dalite!"
All of the Hidiacs erupted into dust.
Xander walked over to them.
"What did you do?" asked Xander.
"I tried to use a Confusion Spell, and got Corium mixed with Confusia. You see," said Clare, "I can't get anything right."
"You need to have more confedence in yourself, Clare. You'll get it, I promise." said Xander.
"Thank-you." said Clare. She looked up at Xander.
"Maybe we don't have to go to the Carnival. We could stay here." said Xander, sitting on the grass. Clare kneeled next to him. She smiled, weakly.
"So," said Clare, "why do you chase after so many girls?"
Xander was taken aback by this question.
"I chase after girls?" he said, shocked.
Clare nodded.
"I never noticed." said Xander. Then he thought about it. "I guess," he said slowly, "I'm looking for something, and find it in each girl. But its just not all there..."
"Like?" asked Clare.
"Well, there would be one girl, whose a beaut, then there's one whose smart, and the other's funny. But then, each one is lacking the other has. So, I keep searching until I find all qualities in one girl." said Xander. "What about you? Where's your boyfriend?"
"I don't have one," said Clare. "All the wizards are all high-class and wouldn't want to date a second-rate sorceress, who can't even get her spells right."
"I would." said Xander, simply.
"Why?" said Clare. "I'm ugly, clumsy, and can't remember a simple Confusion Spell."
"Because, your beautiful, smart, and funny." said Xander, smiling. She blushed.
"Stop it, Xander. I see the girls, you hang around." said Clare, getting to her feet. "This is all just a stupid act to get Clare to feel good about herself."
Xander gets to his feet, also.
"No, its not an act, Clare." said Xander. Tears began to fill Clare's eyes again.
"Stop it." said Clare. "Its not real. How could anybody, even the Perfect Xander, love me?"
"Its not only real, but its true." said Xander. "I love everything about you, Clare." He moved her long hair, out of her tear-stained eyes. "Please, give me the chance..." he whispered.
"Why, so you can hurt me?" Clare jerked away.
"No," said Xander. "So, I can prove that I wanna be with you."
"Its all words, Xander. They don't mean anything." said Clare. "You know what, just send me back to Rootcore."
"No," said Xander.
"Please," said Clare. "This is too much."
Xander stepped closer. He leaned down, and brushed his lips with hers. She pulled away and gazed up at him.
"Why?" she asked, looking deep into his eyes.
"I can prove it." said Xander, taking out his Mystic Morpher. He aimed it at Clare.
"What are you doing?" asked Clare.
"You'll see." said Xander, opening it. "Lovouris Ineptum!" He a jet of green sparks erupted from the end his morpher and hit Clare. She glowed green for a few seconds, and tears began to run down her eyes, again. "That was an Open Heart Spell, Udonna taught it too me."
"You do, love me." said Clare, breathlessly.
Xander smiled and nodded. Clare walked toward him, and he placed his hands on her waist. She put her arms on his shoulders, and looked at him.
"You don't have to cry anymore." said Xander. "I'm here."
Clare leaned upward, and kissed Xander. She could feel burning passion and love, run through their bodies, through the connection of their lips. When they released themselves, they stared at each other.
"I wanna go to the carnival." said Clare.
"Why?" asked Xander, chuckling.
"I have a date." said Clare, simply.
Xander held his morpher up over them, and held onto Clare, really tight.
"Teleportis, Carnivum." said Xander, as a shower of green light surrounded them and they vanished into thin air...
Int. Carnival--Day
......reappearing seconds later, behind a dunking tank. Vida had just threw a ball at the aim, and Chip (sitting in the tank) fell into the cool water below.
"Way to go, sis." said Madison, coming into the view, Nick having his arm around her.
"Yeah," said Vida, turning to face them, and looking back at Chip. "You okay?" she called.
"Fine!" said Chip.
Xander and Clare, from around the tank over to them.
"Bout time," said Vida. "We thought you'd never get here."
"I see our plan, worked." said Madison.
"What plan?" asked Xander.
"The plan to get you and Clare, together!" shouted Chip, from the tank.
"This was your doing?" said Clare, half-laughing.
"Yep," said Madison. "We kinda figured that you too had an attraction to each other..."
"...so we asked Udonna to teach us a spell, that'll reveal your feelings..." said Vida.
"...and then used it on you too, to see if you had any feelings for the other." said Nick.
"And we were right!" shouted Chip.
"You guys..." said Xander.
They laughed at him.
But Clare, was smiling. She looked up at him. They seem to be reading each others thoughts.
"Aquatome!" they said together.
Water appeared out of thin air and splashed Vida, Nick, and Madison.
"What was that for?" said Vida, anger in her voice.
"Teleportis, Rootcore." said Xander, and together, he and Clare vanished, before Vida could get her hands on them.
"I'll get you Xander!" shouted Vida. She stumped her foot, and slipped. She was lying on back, and looked up to see Chip. "You okay?" he asked.
"Fine," said Vida.
Chip smiled, and so did Vida. They glanced at each other for a moment....
