Author's Note: I've asked in General Discussion, and y3k said it's okay to post non-Power Rangers fics as long as an OT is in front of the topic. If this information is incorrect, I am sorry. I did not know. Please notify me if it is.

Prologue: Confusion
“Going off-duty, Number One?” asked Captain Jean-Luc Picard on the way to his quarters for a good night’s sleep.
“Yes sir,” said William Riker with a broad grin. “Commander La Forge gave me the name of a holodeck program of an old Earth television show he considers interesting. I was just on my way to-” Picard chuckled. “Sir?”
“Commander, would this television show happen to be MacGyver?” Riker was confused.
“Yes sir, I believe that’s what Geordi told me.” Picard chuckled again, leaving Riker even more confused.
“Who do you think introduced Geordi to MacGyver?”
Riker raised his eyebrows. “You, sir? You introduced him to it?” Picard was in full-blown laughter now.
“You’re damned right I did! I happened across it during a library trip when I was a boy, and…Well, MacGyver caught me, Will.” Picard smiled. “He caught me hook, line and sinker, with only a light-beam security system and some powder. I should warn you, though, Commander La Forge’s program changes every time it’s used.”
“Sir?” Will Riker was now not merely confused, but completely lost.
“Ah, I shouldn’t spoil it for you…To the holodeck with you, Will!”
“But sir, wait-”
“This is a direct order from your commanding officer, Number One!”
“…Aye, sir.” As confused as he’d ever been, William Riker resumed his trek to the holodeck.
Directly outside Holodeck One
“Computer, run program La Forge MacGyver One, authorization code; Creativity.”
“Authorization code accepted. Program ready. It is safe to enter.”
Commander William Thomas Riker entered the holodeck…and found himself on a houseboat. “What the hell…?”
“Commander!” Riker turned to see Geordi walking towards him, smiling.
“Geordi, what the hell are you-”
“Oh, this isn’t strictly me,” said Geordi. “I made a holodeck version of myself to explain things.”
“Oh. Well...what’s MacGyver?”
“Not what, who,” said Geordi with a smile. “He’s a chemistry-whiz secret agent kind of guy. In this program, you play the role of a fellow secret agent of MacGyver’s, assigned to help him out with a case. In a few seconds, you’ll be in your office, and a round man named Pete Thornton will come in…he’s your boss. He’ll assign you, and…well, play it from there. Good luck, Commander!”
“Wait, Geordi-”
“Bye! Oh, and I programmed it so nobody would notice your uniform as being odd.” Then Geordi was gone. Then the houseboat was gone, and the office appeared. And William Riker was still confused.
