If you are a fanfic writer and you have the chance to pick this book up, you should. Its very informative and in the short time I've had it, its really opened my eyes to a lot of things I've done wrong and to things I can greatly improve.

It teaches you story elements that 'define' the science fiction and fantasy genres, helps you build a credible world for your readers to explore, develop rules of time, space, and magic that affect your world and your characters, construct a compelling story, find the markets for speculative fiction, and how to submit queries, write cover letters, and find an agent.

Its one of the best reference books I've been able to find on writing within the sci-fi, fantasy genres.

Thanks for the recommendation. I saw it for £5.99 at Play.com so I'll pick it up and give it a read. I think I need some insight into helping develop my own novel.

Own it. Love it. I actually used it as a research paper source when I did a paper on "Ender's Game".
