You think Ebay would be keeping an eye on most of these rip-off auctions like the 2 in this thread.

i'm sorry anyone willing to pay 1,000s of dollars on a system that if they wait a month or so they should be able to get much more cheaper deserves to be slapped.
if having it for the kid is such a big deal get the X-Box money on a gift card to give to the kid and tell them this will pay for your x-box, games ect. when they become avalaible again
I know the above ones are jokes, but with the amount of xbox 360 auctions out there someone is paying an insane amount for 1

Can't you do something about that, like refuse to sell it to him, and put it back up for auction???
I don't do business with Ebay on a seller note, so I don't know.

Give him a negative feedback, that's pretty much all he can do.

^ Well that sucks...
I thought that since all communcation was cut off, or pretty much, that some how he doesn't have to sell it to him, but money is more of the issue then communication.

Are eBay sellers HIGH?! Christ! $150,000 for one system... some other dumbass wants over $1,000,000 for his. WTF?
Yeah, I smell scams too, but they're proving that some eBay bidders are morons.
Another example is the XBox 360 (BOX ONLY!!!) auction that some guy had running. The winning bider paid over $600 for the cardboard BOX ONLY.... and the seller clearly says "this auction is for the BOX only"... but he went on to post all the specs of the XBox 360. People are just so dumb. They can't be bothered to take a few minutes to read the FULL item description? BozQ posted the link in the GD forums, btw.

Here's one that seems to be an empty box, and people are actually bidding for it.
I Cannot be more clear! This is not even a factory made xbox 360 box. I made it myself, just a few minutes ago. It does not contain an Xbox 360 console, just the Xbox 360 home-made box. this box is great hand made by me says XBOX right on it It doesn't look anything like the picture I included in the auction
Wow, I'm impressed.

Well you would have to give credit to the seller. If they say it is BOX only then they didnt misadvertise, they were just misunderstood. You can't sue someone over a misunderstanding if you made it clear that it was the BOX only. I could also see how the buyer made the mistake and thought that "BOX" was slang or something for XBOX. Stupid stupid buyers

At least a seller has the protection of mailing last. I've had a friend get screwed a couple of times by people who didn't send him the item.
I'd rather be a seller stuck with the item than a buyer jipped out of his money.

An idiot. Observe how his "3 Xboxs" managed to procreate a 4th. Although I question the legallity of it.
I'm guessing eBay Motors (where you're supposed to sell vehicles) has rules and restrictions that don't apply to regular auctions.
By "including" his car in the XBox auction, he's most likely bypassing several rules and regs regarding the sale of automobiles.

360 is not even worth that much. It's worth 20 bucks not $150,000. These people are hyping 360 way too much when it's a bad excuse for a next generation console. Right now people are complaining that 360 has too many errors and it brakes. What happens if someone bought that and they ended up with the same broken 360. There go's his $150,000 because he aint getting that money back especially off Ebay. Why don't people just put it for what it's worth in the stores $399.

i was refering to the buyer...not the seller. Personally i'd be tempted to go on ebay with a fake name and try to buy all these then tell em the money order got lost in the mail :D :D :D
now that auction that n-guy posted was the best one imo.

The Buyer is NOT going to pay.
It'd be funny to string the seller along until the end of the month when they have to pay the ebay fees.

The PS2 had just as many errors, maybe more as the 360 has. At least M$ is admitting to the machine having problems and will thus fix it whereas Sony does not.
True. But what I am just saying is that Microsoft was rushing and thats what happens when you rush they don't over look the problems. Even when the machine scratches your own discs, that's something they can easily overlook but they didn't. That's the first priority is too first make sure the systems are in good shape instead of just throwing them out because it's launch date.

Hopefully Sony's delaying PS3 because of all the problems they're finding with it rather than rushing it like what microsoft did.
