Differences of the Blast Buggy

I can't find it on the board while searching, so here's the question:

Are there differences between the Japanese DX Blast Buggy and the one as released as the "Space Patrol Set" of Bandai America (the one with the blue and red SPD Rangers)?

I assume the USA one can also be merged with the DekaRangerRobo/Delta Squad Megazord?

Besides the missing gold rim paint and the slight decrease in plastic quality, it's pretty much the same toy. AND for a hell of a lot cheaper too.

But it's also functionality: you said that the USA version doesn't have the shooting canon.
