Episode Three-Red prevails part one.
Jay sat quietly in the back seat of the silver guardians’ van. He couldn't believe
this, he was a prisoner. On one side was Jason, the red mighty morphin power ranger, the ancestor of from whence his powers came. On the other side was Tommy, a legend power rangers, one of the greats, and the other half of his powers ancestry. They had informed him of that much, and that the two rangers in front were Wes and Eric, the Red time force ranger and the quantum ranger. They didn't tell him where they were going; only that he would get help.
The van finally came to a stop, Jason and Tommy escorted him out of the van and he looked around, it was really bright compared to the van. The tinted windows hid the sun, once his eyes readjusted to the burning bright noon sky, he saw they were at lab building, and as he looked around, he noticed he was in Angel Grove anymore. He had heard of this place, and a team of Rangers that had a base here. Mariner bay. The four ranger escorts took him inside the base of Light speed Rescue. Once inside the Aqua base, he was quickly taken to a large lab where groups of people were waiting.
A man with short, ear length blonde hair walked up to him. He extended his hand and said, "Carter Grayson, Lightspeed Rescue, red ranger." Jay was a little uneasy, but extended his own hand and shook hands with Carter. On his wrist he saw what must have been a morpher, or at least that's what the powers were telling him. All the time since he gained his powers, he's been gaining more and more information on the history of both power sources, and the new weapons, and abilities he had. He looked around the room, and saw pretty much all-normal people except for one. It had a weird thing on its head, looked like a pod. It was an alien, he knew it was one of the Alien rangers, and that surprised him.
"Ok" Tommy said, "lets introduce everyone." He pointed to the red Mighty Morphin ranger, “you know Jason, red mighty morphin power ranger, me, Tommy, red Zeo ranger. T.j red turbo ranger. Andros, red space ranger. Leo red galaxy ranger. Carter, red lightspeed ranger. Wes, red time force ranger. Eric, quantum ranger. Cole, the red wild force ranger. Shane, the red wind ranger. Hunter, the crimson thunder ranger, and last but not least, Auricos, the red alien ranger. Everyone, this is Jay, he is a red ranger now too, and we all know why we're here, but first," he looked over to Carter who came over with restraints.
They put Jay against the wall quickly and so hard; he momentarily lost his breath. They cuffed his hands together, and then Tommy reached into his back pocket and pulled out Jay's morpher. It looked so familiar, but the faceplate was now metallic red, and the coin inside was strange. It bore the symbol of the red Zeo gem, but was imprinted with the tyrannosaurus image too. Carter took the morpher and left the room, while Wes and Eric took Jay and put him in a small containment room as they called it. It was a prison cell. He was locked behind steel bars, and had no means of escape.
He sat in a small cell. Waiting. He was alone, and he just remembered, his friends! All this time and he completely forgot them. He started to worry. What happened to them? He can’t remember where or when he last saw them. Just then, Andros and Auricos were there.
Andros opened the door and held out his hand. In it was something wrapped in a red scarf. "Take it," he said, "then come with us, We need to take you to the ship for debriefing." Jay took the item and slowly unwrapped it. It was his morpher, but on the back was a chip. He looked up at Andros; Auricos saw his puzzled look.
"It will all be explained, but for now, you must come with us," he said as he and Andros began to walk away. Jay followed, curious as to what was going on.
As he followed them, he thought about why they had given him his morpher. Should he use it to escape? No, he no longer had any of those feelings, and decided it best to cancel them out. If he didn't use the morpher, he wouldn't have any problems. They reached where they were going. It was a space ship. He heard of a similar one that was once in a museum, but taken by the Galaxy rangers. This one was the Astro megaship mark 2 though. He knew this from reports of a group of rangers that used this ship to defend earth from an attack from the moon.
"Like her?" Andros asked. He patted him on the shoulders and said, "come on, the others are waiting"
As the other two red rangers entered the ship, Jay followed, quite beside himself. As he walked up the hatch, he felt the door close behind him and the engines start up. He felt a pull as the ship lifted into the air, and blasted out of the hanger. He was thrown against the wall as it picked up speed. Then he saw Conner and Tommy who came to get him. They quietly escorted him to the bridge of the ship, were all the others were.
There was also a small robot walking around and checking the monitors, as Andros walked over, and the red rangers stood in a group in front of Jay. Jay backed up a bit. He looked around and the faces that stared at him had deeply serious looks. "Jay, you are here because we need your help," Cole said. Jay's face grew wide with confusion, "My help, but I'm not a good ranger."
"No, It's not your fault," Auricos answered, "and we did testing. It's not you who did those things. It was the powers. They were unbalanced and unnatural. So their instability caused a negative effect on your brain and a desire to lash out and destroy"
Jay didn't understand anything they were saying, so Shane spoke up and said, "Your morpher was bad. They made it good. Really simple." Hunter added, "now, we need your help, with a dangerous mission."
"You've caused the return of one of the most dangerous enemies we've ever faced," Tommy said, "It is him who also causes the fluxuations in your morpher. Lord Zedd," he now pointed to a monitor that showed the monster. Sitting in his throne, watching the Earth, gripping his staff with his metallic bone like fingers.
Jason walked over to monitor and further elaborated, "Lord Zedd draws power partially from the morphing grid. When Zordon died to stop this, Zedd transubstantiated into human form, and the morphing grid remained inactive. Over the years, new sources of power emerged. Drawing tiny bits of energy from the original morphing grid. All that time also giving energy back to Zedd. Then you came along."
"Now," Auricos spoke, "You've created a huge source of power that was never meant to be. It restored the morphin grid's energy and also gave Zedd the power needed to become himself again. The evil mutant he was. An abomination to life. His eyes are set on earth again."
Conner stood up now, "and like it or not, destiny has chosen you to led the next generation of rangers into battle. You must learn how to lead your team, and fight alongside them as a team to defeat this enemy."
Jay couldn't take all of this at once, all he wanted to know was, "Where are my friends?" The others quickly exchanged a glance of uncertainty, as if they knew something. "Where are they?! I wanna know!"
T.j looked at him. He then slowly said, "lord Zedd has them, and is going to destroy him." Jay stepped back and felt light-headed, as if he was going to pass out. Leo and Andros were closest and grabbed his arms, trying to prevent his fall. At this point, Jay made a decision; he stood up again on his own.
He clenched his fists, he looked up and said, "What do I do, and how can I fight without losing my sense of self." Carter stepped forward and said, "Me and the other lightspeed crew members worked to install that chip on the back of your morpher. It limits your power slightly, but you'll be in control of what happens." Jay looked at his new morpher and held it firmly, "When do I begin?!"
They were approaching the moon. The 14 red rangers were about to engage a huge battle. That much they knew that Zedd had something-big ready, but they didn't exactly know where. So they split up into two groups of seven.
Group a consisted of Jason, Tommy, Auricos, Jay, Andros, Conner, and Shane. Group b was made up of T.j, Leo, Carter, Wes, Eric, Cole, and Hunter. The two teams already had the plans set straight. Group a was going to find and fight Zedd, while group b was focused on rescuing the captured rangers.
Finally they were ready to get started; the ship landed in one of the moon's craters and they all got ready to fight. The stood outside the ship and they went off on their separate ways. They knew that Zedd had two new bases prepared on the moon’s surface. While group B would have a relatively easy task, group a was heading into impending danger, and chances of coming out unscathed were slim. They had discovered that Zedd was almost finished building a new serpentera.
Group A had walked for about two hours in search of Zedd's lab and building site. Jay was hanging behind the group a bit, while Tommy, Jason, and Andros mainly had the lead. Auricos wasn't far behind those three, when Shane and Conner strayed back a bit to talk to Jay. "You ok?" Conner asked. Jay just looked up at him.
"Well, I'm having a hard time actually accepted this,"he answered, "It's not that I don't care, but why me? Why do I have to burden all of this responsibility?"
"I felt the same way. I didn't want to be a ranger at first, but it's destiny. I was chosen for a reason. So were you."
"But how can I learn to be a leader all of a sudden. And know that my team won't fail, mess up, or make a mistake?"
This time Shane answered, "I was just like you, and you'll soon learn that you just have to have faith. They're are your friends after all." Jay just got silent and thought for a bit.
Jay looked around, he thought he saw something move atop one of the cliffs. He just shrugged it off and kept walking. Then out of nowhere an energy beam came out of nowhere and hit Jason and Tommy, the edge of the blast hit Auricos and Andros and only Conner, Shane, and Jay got into a stance to fight.
Then a huge hoard of at least 1,000 Z putties attacked. They flew down from the cliffs and started to attack. Without having a chance to morph the rangers were quickly beaten. Jay doesn't even remember what happened after he saw that blast go off. He woke up in chains, and was being dragged. He felt the rough sand of the moon rub across his face. He looked around; they were prisoners, being led to who knows where.
That's when he saw it, the moon base of Zedd, it was a huge castle like structure, and he saw the inside was lit by what appeared to blue flames. He felt a tingle creep down his spine, and then he saw a zord, fly over the castle towards him, it looked like a dragon. It was a metallic green, and spewed fireballs. Serpentera had been rebuilt, and looked stronger than before, and more powerful, it then began it's descent, towards the captured rangers, and charged a huge energy beam blast. They a light growing brighter and brighter in it’s mouth as it prepared to fire!
