So five days pass and I've heard nothing from this "Matthew" guy. I politely asked him in a PM what he was waiting for, and not only did he give me some totally bogus story about accidently deleting all of his Won Items records (since all he has to do is search his own name, AND I sent an e-mail invoice the day after the auction ended), but he ALSO asked me for my "address so i can mail you the money order," completely ignoring my very specific instructions in the item description.

Give him a negative - but then I'm sure you'd get one in return as well.

I already gave him the ultimatum of Paypal'ing me in the next 4 days before I do something naughty.

I wouldn't care about the paypal only thing. After all, they stole about $2,000 in donations for the american red cross. Money order's secured by the postal service, it's a good idea.

Uhhh, except with Paypal, it's really safer for both of us since no one can whine that they never sent/received the payment, ESPECIALLY in this case where the guy is already BSing me.

I believe it was on the news, I overheard the news saying something about a canadian online charity turning out to be a scam or something - that must've been it.

Well, after SA raised more than $30,000 dollars in four hours for the Red Cross, Paypal decided to lock the account because it was suspicious... despite the "Donation" box that was clicked during it's creation

I believe it was on the news, I overheard the news saying something about a canadian online charity turning out to be a scam or something - that must've been it.It could also be derived from the fact that Paypal takes a certain percentage of each transaction as a "royalty" fee. Although I'm only assuming that that applies to charity donations like everything else.

I'd suggest waiting another 5 days, then post a Non-Paying Bidder complaint.
I had a NPB report filed on me once. It lit me UP. The MO had to go from me (in North FL) to Lawerence, GA (outside Atlanta)-- that should only take a few days. Well the seller e-mailed me: "We never received payment, please send payment again." So I did, and they got the second one 3 weeks after the original Auction close date. I still think the seller skammed me. Bastard just wanted to get double the auction price.
But I digress.... after a more days, file a NPB complaint and then inform eBay/Paypal/whoever.

Exactly what I was talking about :023:
A lot of people give Lowtax shit, but something awful is one of a handful of websites that I'm glad I have joined. I am proud to be a Goon. And this is what happens when we try to do something good...
Just contact PayPal and see what they can do... that's about all you can do at this point

dude first off, file a "unpaid item dispute" choosing the options "buyer has not paid for item and buyer has not responded to messages", then send it, and ebay will notify the buyer, if that doesn't work, wait till ur allowed to close the dispute and get a final credit value...then leave him/her negative feedback...i've dealt with loser buyers like that person b4, so what i just said is ur best option for now, u really can't force him to pay for the auction, but if he doesn't go thru with it u can get a final fee credit and end up givin him a negative feedback and possibly gettin ebay to suspend his account. good luck

Sure, PayPal is convenient, but that's about it. They have no competition, so they have no need to improve their sevrices, and they're not considered a bank, so they're not covered by the governments rules. As a result, they can take your money at any time, for any reason, and have done so in the past
When a company locks an account created under the Donation category because of "suspicious seller activity" and then demands shipping info on the items sent, there's a distinct problem
I've had problems with them, before, and no, I'm not an idiot who fell for some crappy phishing scehem. PayPal just screwed me over, simple as that
You can praise them all you want, until they do it to you too. Simply a matter of time. If they can help you, go for it, but everyone's luck runs out eventually

No, I think it sucks because 2 of my friends had their accounts suspended. One of them had a guy file a complaint against him saying he paid for a Lain lunchbox & didn't get it; but he had emailed my friend like a week before thanking him for sending the lunchbox so quickly. Then my buddy was out 50 bones & the lunchbox. the other friend put $500 into his paypal account and then paypal closed his account for suspecious activity and it took almost a year for them to re-open it.

People who do lots of online shopping, that's who.
