I wrote this a LONG time ago, probably when Episode I first came out. I don't like it, but a few of you have requested me posting it, so here it is. Its not finished, but if any fanfic writer would like to take up the reigns, feel free. I don't have the time with my current involvment in Fire and Ice and its sequels.
Star Wars
Episode ZERO
The Quest For Eltar
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away . . . .
An evil occult known as the Sith has battled the mighty Jedi Knights for
centuries. Born from a renegade Jedi Knight, the Sith
believed ultimate power was denied in the light side.
A distant planet of Eltar is home to a strange new fold of crusaders,
the ZyrakuRangers. Using what they call the Morphing Grid, they have used
their Jedi-like powers and technological wonders called Zords to
battle an evil and corrupt Governor.
Jedi Masters Qui-Gon Jinn and Mace Windu have contacted
Prince Zordon, leader of the ZyrakuRangers. Zordon begins his exodus
to the city-planet of Coruscant. Along the way, their starship is
attacked by Trade Federation droid fighters and are boarded by
an evil apprentice of Maelstrom, Darth Vicious.
He captures a sacred jewel known as the White Power Coin. The
ZyrakuRangers then battled the evil battle droids sent
on the ship by Darth Vicious. Now, the Rangers
are continuing their journey to visit with the Jedi Counsel
and plead for Jedi involvement in the quest for Eltar . . . .
Part One
In the depths of the massive city-planet of Coruscant, a cloaked figure moved about, his actions kept secret due to his mission. He looked upward into the bright sky, the sunlight revealing the mosaic designs of back, white, and green engraved in his face. Icy eyes regarded a large starship penetrating the atmosphere of the planet, heading for a docking bay. With a whisper of sound, the form was gone. Starplasma was cooled from the engines of that particular starship as it bore down onto the magnetic lines of the docking path. A hatch opened up and protracted to the catwalk that lead to the massive pyramid. Six figures clothed in dark burgundy capes emerged, cowls hiding the faces of the forms. They marched in formation towards the pyramid and a door before them split in two and became a entryway. The cowls’ purposes had been fulfilled and were removed to hang loosely around their necks. Helmets, each consisting of a main color, were shown. Fierce images of the heads of mighty war beasts were engraved into the helmets. Visors were dark as obsidian and gave no light to what was beneath them.
The first of the helmets was red and the visor was surrounded in the teeth of the beast’s design. A sculpted mouthpeice regarded a look of determination and strength. The second was a bright yellow, the third cool blue, the fourth a loud pink, the fifth a dark black, and sixth, a forest shade of jade. Slits in the sides of the helmets were cooling vents which kept a constant supply of fresh air to each of the forms. They walked down a long corridor and into a rounded room with windows open to the purples and dark oranges of a sunset. They stood in the center of the room. Around them, twelve forms, some human, some not, were seated. They were all of the same accord though, a special group, a special fold. Qui-Gon Jinn, the highest respected Jedi Knight of the whole counsel, stepped forward.
“Prince Zordon, what a great honor to have the ZyrakuRangers of Eltar within the Jedi Temple.” Qui-Gon stated. The warrior in the rubicund helmet removed his armored mask.
“Qui-Gon, we heard reports that said Darth Vicious was sighted here. If the Sith are to cause any trouble, our battle with Governor Nereus and Damone Maelstrom will become extremely difficult.” Zordon instructed.
“I sense that the reports are correct. Darth Vicious is one of the last Sith. Their evil occult is falling in on itself. Soon the Sith will be crushed and the Darths wiped away.” Jedi Master, Mace Windu, explained. The rest of the warriors removed their helmets.
“Darth Vicious is more dangerous than we realized. If he is to follow us to Eltar, the Eltarian Interplanetary Government will surely be destroyed.” the Green Ranger, by the name of Sih Caien Zedd, instructed. The Jedi Counsel began to ignite with uncontrolled speech.
“Order, we must have! At once, order!” the small and alien Jedi Master Yoda commanded. His voice carried over the counsel.
“Prepared, must you be. The ways of the Force must be learned. Fear, anger, hate, banished, they must be. The Jedi can only protect the ones that suffer.” Yoda continued once the noise vanished.
“But innocent people are going to die!” Lonishere, the Black Ranger declared.
“Innocent? Or maybe weak. But that’s not for us to handle. Because someone is weak or fearful makes it even less of our problem. Innocent doesn’t quite cover it.” Windu replied.
“We did not come here to wait for an attack to receive help.” Ducliea, Pink Ranger, spoke.
“Once we have direct proof that Governor Nereus is planning an attack on Eltar, then we can go and protect. We cannot fight a war for you without knowing of an attack!” Ki-Adi-Mundi, an older Jedi Knight, responded.
“Then, maybe Chancellor Valorum will support our quest.” Andartis, Blue Ranger, said.
“The Senate may approve to send Republic troops in, but the Jedi will not be involved.” Qui-Gon stated. Zordon finally stepped forth before the Jedi Counsel.
“We fight for the same. If Coruscant was to fall to an attack from Sith lords, we would be more than gladly to help prevent it. Energy fields, gentlebeings! Twin energy fields. The Power and the Force. Midi-chlorians may determine what makes a Jedi, but skill, courage, strength, and dignity make for a ZyrakuRanger. I have my senses which can feel disturbances within the Morphing Grid. You can sense those same ones in the force. We are all one in the same. And if you will not help, than maybe you will at least plead our case before the Senate.” Zordon explained. Yoda stood up and walked forward.
“No. One in the same, not! Much evolved are the Jedi. Political standards and jurisdictions, we must follow. Not warriors who choose to fight for the sake of one planet, but to fight for sake of entire galaxy, we do! Too much on technology, do you rely. Not enough on senses, on the body’s own capabilities! Wars, technology, powers, make not one great. But the soul! The essence of life itself! Too different are our energy fields. Too different are our goals. Too different are our means. But, a Jedi Knight’s code of honor makes it his responsibility to fight for good. Plead your case, I will.” Yoda returned. Zordon smiled, one that conveyed happiness and sorrow. He had hoped for the Jedi to help in the battle if Sith were to become involved.
When Yoda went before the Senate, the Rangers were staying in the Royal Guest suite within the palace. An hour went by and soon another before Yoda appeared back in their room.
“Plead your case, did I. Hmm. Not successful. No part in your war, does the Senate want. Great warrior is Maelstrom, great apprentice is Vicious. Evil duo, they are. Evil, yes. Apologize, I must.” Yoda explained. Zordon walked over and bent down before him.
“Yoda, what do apologize for? You did nothing wrong.” Zordon instructed.
“Yes. Yes, I did. Your need for my help, I sense. But, not my choice, is it. Follow the council’s wish, I must. Still, I must help you. Somehow. Young Jedi, I will send with you. Obi-Wan Kenobi. Help you, he will. It is all I can do. Send him to your ship, I will. Take care of him, please. Most talented one I see in long time. Do not let him be lead astray. Keep his focus, he must. Go now, I must.” Yoda said, turning around.
“Thank you Yoda. It is much appreciated.” Zordon said as the little alien walked out of the room.
“Well, if only one Jedi comes with us, I guess that’s fine.” Sharma said.
“Yes, Sharma. This one I can sense already. He is a strong warrior. Stronger when he returns. Come Rangers. Our departure time is due.” Zordon explained. The Rangers replaced their cloaks and walked back to their docking area. Standing by the hatch was a young man, in loose robes and hair cut in traditional Jedi style.
“Obi-Wan Kenobi, I presume.” Zordon said, extending his hand. Obi-Wan shook his hand and replied.
“Yes. Yoda tells me that you need a Jedi with you. I myself have seen the terror of Darth Vicious and Damone Maelstrom. I am more than ready to destroy them.” Obi-Wan instructed. They boarded the vessel and entered into a lane of starship traffic.
