Havoc wreaked on the moon. In her moon palace, Rita Repulsa was busy yelling at her minions for yet another failure. “You idiotic, two-bit, no-brained, pin-headed nitwits! The Rangers were in the palm of my hand and you let them escape!”
Goldar, Scorpina, Squatt, Baboo, and Finster were cowering and attempting to shift the blame away from themselves as usual. “It wasn’t my fault, mistress, I didn’t do anything,” Squatt pleaded.
Baboo slapped him on the head. “You never do anything, that’s why everything we do fails!”
“Be quiet, you two simpletons,” Finster scolded. “Mistress, might I point out that all my creations are perfect. The fault lies squarely with Goldar’s incompetence.”
“Your creations are pieces of junk,” Goldar roared. “Not even I can lead such buffoons to victory. But maybe we’d win once in a while if Scorpina pulled her weight in battle.”
“You lie,” Scorpina shrieked. “I am twice the warrior you’ll ever be!”
Goldar drew his sword in challenge. “Then let us fight to the death right here to prove who is the better warrior.”
“Ohhh,” Baboo exclaimed, “my money’s on Goldar.”
“Silence,” Rita shrieked, then emphasized by shooting a blast from her wand that came within an inch of disintegrating Goldar. The bickering ceased immediately, and all eyes focused silently on Rita. “You dummies are giving me a worse headache than the Power Rangers with your arguing,” she exclaimed. “And they give me galaxy-sized headaches! If only they weren’t around…” Then her face lit up. “That’s it,” she exclaimed. “Earth is a big planet! We’ll simply move to someplace the Power Rangers aren’t!”
“Brilliant, Empress,” Goldar said. “But where will we go?”
“Hmmm….” Rita pondered, “We’ll go to….let’s see….uh….”
“How about the Bahamas,” Baboo asked. “I always wanted to go there,” he added pleadingly.
“Absolutely not,” Rita shouted. “We’re here to destroy the world, not take a cruise.” She looked through her telescope at Earth and continued to think. “Hmm…too cold, even colder, too hot, rent’s too high,” she said, critiquing locations as she continued to gaze upon the earth. “I’ve got it,” she exclaimed after several moments. “That’s it! We’ll go to Japan!” Turning to face her minions, she said “pack your bags, we’re going to Japan!”
In the Command Center, Jason, Trini, Zack, Billy, Kimberly, and Tommy all stood assembled before Zordon. They were all confused as to why Zordon had summoned them. There was no monster attack, so what was going on? Zordon appeared in his time warp and spoke to them. “Power Rangers, thank you for assembling here on short notice. I am pleased to inform you that Rita has abandoned her attacks on Angel Grove.”
The Rangers were exuberant. “I can’t believe this,” Jason, his voice a mixture of relief and wonderment, said as the others erupted in celebration. “The world is safe.”
“I’m afraid I must also share some sad news,” Zordon said solemnly. “Though Rita has abandoned her attacks on Angel Grove, she is still bent on destroying the world. She’s moved her base of operations to Japan.”
“What do we do, Zordon” Tommy asked in a panic.
“I can reconfigure the teleportation system to take us to Japan,” Billy said matter-of-factly, moving towards a control console. “I’ll get right on it.”
“No, Power Rangers,” Zordon said. “You must stay here.”
“But why,” Trini asked, pouting.
“Because this is where you belong,” Zordon replied. “This is not easy for me, either. But it is something that must be done. I thank you for your valiant service as Power Rangers. But the fight is no longer yours to fight. With Rita’s move it comes time for the burden to fall on new shoulders.”
“We trust your judgment, Zordon,” Jason said. Turning to the others, he told them “It’ll be alright, guys.”
“Thank you, Power Rangers,” Zordon said. “I will need your Power Coins and Morphers. Alpha is already at work teleporting the Zords.”
“Can’t I at least keep the stereo,” Kimberly whined.
Zordon ignored her. “Thank you again, Power Rangers. May the Power always protect you. And take heart, for I have one final mission for you.”
“What is it,” Jason asked.
Zordon grinned. “Pack my bags.”
