Ok i saw this done like a day ago, so i figured i'd try it myself. does anyone have a MMPR power morpher. it doesn't need to have the coins, in fact it'd be better if it didn't because i'm going to rubber cement one of kylash's green coins to it anyway, and i could use the shaved off price of a coinless one. thanks guys!!

ya know....a few years back my cousin won a 26 million dollar lottery (by the way..i didnt get a dime from them), but that doesnt mean that I can go out and buy a ticket and win one myself.
I know what post you are refering to, and I still cannot belive that happened...but it is not something that is going to happen again.
further, to explain why i get upset at all these types of morpher threads, its because i'm just tired of them. In one year i collected, customized, and completed my power morpher collection, getting 6 more, and never once asked "does some one have a power morpher they'd sell me". If you want one that bad, save up and buy it off ebay for whatever you have to pay. It was either a miracle or an moment of insanity that allowed that other member to get that for free, but dont be expecting lightning to strike the same place twice.

True, but not everyone has a credit card/can find one on Ebay that easily.

i know and i'm sorry, i'm just seeing, because if there's any chance that i DON'T have to pay 50 or 60 bucks for a morpher, i would like to take it, because i'm trying to put together an entire pr costume, and i'm trying to cut back on expenses wherever possible, because it's a fairly expensive thing to do. again i'm sorry if it makes you angry. didn't mean to, i'm just seeing if i'm a lucky dude i guess...

I would gladly have payed for it but a free morpher is even better than one payed for. I agree i am extreamly lucky to have goten this deal and truthfully wasnt thinking anything like this would have happened wene i posted it. I simply thought i could get a better deal faster on a site that is about Power Rangers rather than the random morpher that popsup on ebay with a poor description and bad pics from someone that dosnt know much about it. As a matter of fact i wouldnt even mind paying him around $10 for the morpher bcuz it dosnt seem right getting it compleatly free.
Mike
PS: MMPRBlue me too I'm putting together a green/dragon ranger costume.

to comment to everything that has been said since my last post:
Hou Cranston: I never said I have a credit card....I dont. And how hard is it to type "morpher" or "power morpher" or "coin"...something like that....into the search bar of the power ranger section of ebay?
MMPRblue: I have never....ever paid more than 40 for a morpher...and that includes shipping.....well for a power morpher anyway.
MMPRblue and Miker545: If you are looking to make a suit, instead of getting the toy version, i'd recommend you getting one of the prop morphers. I belive buzz makes them.

Omega, if someone wins the lottery then doesn't it make you a little more hopeful that you could too?
I happened to have a Power Ranger item I'm completely willing to part with, and found someone who wanted it. I probably paid $5 for the lot it came in, and it came with an Astro Blaster and one of those spin-top launchers that someone else was talking about (I bid looking for the blaster). It cost me next to nothing, and it meant nothing to me. Being financially secure as I am, I wasn't worried about selling it.
So MMPRBlue is hopeful that there are two people out there willing to hook up a fellow PR fan. Nothing wrong with that. He knows the odds are long, so there's no need to rub it in. Besides, I doubt "CRAP-ASS MORPHER" comes up too often on eBay.
Finally, if these threads personally offend you, I don't know why you even come into them. But it's the Law of the Internet to actively seek what you don't like and complain loudly about it, I suppose.

Well Chris...No, it doesnt make me more hopeful that I might win. I know the odds of winning those kind of games (thanks to my college stats teacher who wanted to show us the odds). That is why I dont play the lottery
As for you getting it in the deal as an added, but unwanted bonus, all I have to say is this. Whether you are financially stable or not, giving away something like that was crazy. I mean its one thing if its a part to a zord or something like that, but a power morpher can range anywhere from 25-125 dollars.
And as for the reason I'm so upset with them is I just get tired of seeing the same threads over and over again. Especially when the person who wrote this thread had already made a "I need a power morpher" thread a few months back. Just do a quick search for power morphers, you'll see just how many there are.
Now, the reason I comment in them is this: I hope that one day my comments will have some impact on members to get them to stop making one or two (minimum a month it seems) of these threads each month. Will it work, I dont know. But needless to say, as long as there are threads of this nature, there will be posts from me.

Story time, one more time. And this is all I have to say on the subject.
I understand completely that, in the most basic of terms, "things have monetary value."
The reason I am willing to give (some) things away for nothing, however, is a sort of karmic payback. Maybe it's part of the environment I grew up in. When I was a kid, I didn't have a lot of money (not that I haven't had a charmed life in every respect; my parents just didn't give me an allowance).
Now, I also had an expensive hobby: I collected cards. Magic: The Gathering and X-Men were two favorites of mine. Well, the X-Men cards were relatively cheap (well, at something like $1.25 a pack) but the Magic cards were not.
I had two kinds of friends: the ones who demanded top dollar when trading cards, and took advantage of the fact that I knew just about nothing as far as rarity and price. In retrospect, they were assholes and I have nothing to do with them to this day (I was a stupid kid, I took all the friends I could get).
I also had the ones who just gave me cards, regardless of price and rarity. They had case upon case of them. They helped me build decks and would just say "here, you could use this card" and just give it to me. One of the asshole friends even said to one, "That card is really rare," to which my good friend replied "not everything is about money."
Years later, a card my *brother* got screwed for (by one of my sack-of-shit friends) ended up being the last he needed for his collection, but the bad friend had long since traded it to one of my *good* friends. I went to this friend's house ready to pay upwards of $20 for it, and its list was something like $10 IIRC. This friend opened a box and just gave it to me, saying "you can just take it, I don't even look at them anymore. And tell your brother congratulations on finally finishing that set."
Today, ALL those Magic cards-- the ones I got screwed for, and the ones that my friends were kind enough to give-- sit in a box on my trunk (the trunk the Power Morpher was in). I play with them only rarely, and only casually (since my cards are all too old for tournament play, and I don't have very good decks anyway. No, I'm not giving any of *these* away). I don't even remember who gave me what. As you can see, though, I have rather clear recollections of the way my friends treated me, and I'm sure you can imagine which of these friends I stay in contact with to this day. You can see clearly which person I would rather be, right?
This old man's longwinded story has a point: the world is full of people out to screw you and bleed you dry. What's the point of adding one more?
It's kind of sad that "being nice" and "showing others the kindness that's been given to you" is equated with insanity. I guess in a post-eBay world where we can just put our junk online and watch people fight over it, it is a surprise that someone would say "here, take it." But here we are.
But needless to say, as long as there are threads of this nature, there will be posts from me.
Then that is your burden to bear. I won't defend such people, but just keep in mind that anyone can win the lottery, but only if they play. Unlike the lottery, posting a request here costs nothing. Wouldn't you play the lottery if the tickets were free? Even if the odds ARE astronomically against you, there wouldn't be any cost except the minute of your life you spend choosing numbers. And minute of your life is easy to get back; just wake up a minute sooner. Go to bed a minute later. Or don't waste it calling someone an idiot on a Power Rangers board.

Well, all I have to say to that is this.
I can understand the value of friendship. Sure I had got power ranger toys when I was little, but I stopped after zeo and never started again, and when I did I was now in collector mode, until Timeforce. What I did collect though was baseball cards. Now I only collected that for a few years, but I did achieve a massive collection. However, to get what I wanted, I had to work for it. I guess you could say we are shaped into the people we are now by the events of the past. See, for me, I was raised on the belief that "if you want something, you must work for it. Dont expect things to be handed to you on a silver platter."
Now, I have no problem helping people out when I can. I go to garage sales a lot and when I find stuff, even if I know that i have it, i usually will pick it up, because i know that someone on here will, more than likely, need it. When I announce that i have this or that or somone informs me that they need this or that I sell it to them at a very reasonable, and cheaper-than-ebay price. However, if i'm willing to do the work to find this stuff, I do not see why some monetary compensation should be frowned apon. So I dont consider myself to be someone out to bleed people dry and I dont consider helping someone out as being insane. However, in this specific incident, I think it was crazy to give away something like that for free.

Sure, monetary compensation for work done is fine; but no one had ever said it was "frowned upon". Regardless of your opinion, chrisdmid is free to give any and all of his possessions away at no cost, if he so desires; and he is a better person for doing so.
On the other hand, Omega.... Chastising chrisdmid for his generosity doesn't exactly prove you to be of such good character.

Hey, I never meant to make it sound like I think he is crazy. I just thought, on my personal opinion, that it was something you would not expect to see or happen. If he wants to give away something, whether it is a power morpher or a red spd ranger, that is up to him. Had i of been in his shoes, I would atleast of charged shipping costs. And dont get me wrong, its nice to know that there are people out there with his mentality. But something tells me that this board is not over run with members like that. Which just goes back to my original complaint. I'm just tired of seeing the same thread over and over again.
