Mission Log Zero:
Existance
"Time. A word these humans have invented to explain the moments that pass, or don't pass, or stay still. However, you can not freeze time. Time is not a repitition of moments. You cannot change time. You cannot change what happens in time. You may only witness time. Time is unable to be switched and may only be existant with one decision. There is no alternative, and there is no change. However, human evolution has changed that...
In death the mind which is processed by the brain dies along with the physical body. Nor can exist without eachother, as each are seperate entities, the Mind and Physique. There is no alternative, and there is no change. However, human evolution has changed that...
We are all playtoys, for the amusement of those we can't say or cannot even be sure they exist. It is part of the unknown that is impecable and improbable that even the living cannot understand. There is no alternative, and there is no change. Again however, human evolution...has changed that." - The Chronicler
"Captain Logan," started a commanding voice.
"Sir." stated the Captain, as he turned towards his superior and gave him a salute.
To anyone else that knew Captain Logan, a high ranking officer in Time Force, he would use a different voice. One very much like the one that commanded him this very moment. However, you could tell his was nervous and a bit pitchy.
"Have you heard of CLAMP Ops yet?" asked the commanding voice, as the two entered a white corridor that led to another steel plated door.
Captain Logan was suprised that he wasn't meeting the eyes of his superior. Did he really fear him that much? Logan looked up at his Superior Officer, "I believe that is the acronym for Chronical Linear Assisted with Maximum Patrol Operations. And they were also responsible for..."
"However that is why I am shutting down CLAMP Ops today." reported Logan's superior.
"Look Alex, even if they were responsible for the maximum clo-" started Captain Logan.
"Commander Drake to you Captain Logan. Within a few weeks, Adminstrator Drake. Please, I would like to show you something." responded Commander Drake, as his hand motioned towards the door.
On the keypad, Captain Drake entered his passcode, which Captain Logan did not even attempt to see. When he finished, a retnea scanner appeared from a lodge on the keypad. A red light then scanned Commander Drake's eye.
"Commander Alexander Drake of Time Force confirmed. Welcome to the C-Chamber." stated a feminine computerized voice.
"Follow." simply stated Commander Drake as they walked into the room.
The steel doors quickly shut behind them. No light whatsoever seeped into the room. Captain Logan gave a silent gulp, his adam's apple showing. "Commander, what is the reason for being here?"
"Even wonder how Time Force gets all it's information, and how come we can't predict why things happen? How we bend all logic?" questioned Commander Drake.
"Well it's come across my mind a few times, but not very deeply, why?" asked Commander Logan, now more curious than nervous.
"In the year 2666, Space Patrol Delta unearthed something that would become Time Force's greatest asset. During a mission to stop tectonic plates from tearing the Earth apart, they discovered a man incased in diamond near the Earth's core. However, the diamond wasn't normal diamond, we found that the diamond could not be melted." explained the Commander.
"I have never heard that before." responded Captain Logan, getting a bit confused but also frightened at what might come next.
Commander Drake reached into his pocket, his sharp senses knowing immediately where Captain Logan was. Pulling out a pair of sunglasses, he gave them to Captain Logan. "Put these on, you are gonna need them."
Even though it was useless to see, the captain nodded anyways. Commander Drake pressed a switch, as Captain Logan winced at the intense light that came even with the sunglasses. As his vision began to focus however, he realized that there was a figure in the middle of the room.
Multi-colored lines ran over the body of a condemned man in a crystal of diamond. Suddenly, he was no longer a man but some sort of creature that's head had things looking like octopus tentacles.
"Captain Logan, you are one of the few that has seen The Chronicler. He is a being that gives us our information on time only after being recorded by us through hidden nightvision cameras. It takes our best scientists years just to decipher some of his clues. He also changes, but there is no evident reason for it. No pattern or anything, he just does. We believe he knows all." stated the Commander, with a since of pride.
But Captain Logan, he had a bad feeling. He didn't take a liking to this at all. He took a step back...
"One..." he said in his head.
A crazy, insane even, spread over Commander Drake's face. "Now Captain, where are you going?"
"Look...Alex...we can get you some help. You need help...The Maximum Clonage Project did something to you those few years ago." lured Captain Logan as he took back his steps.
Commander Drake's let his smile fade. "Yes, yes...I suppose you're right."
The Commander fell to his knees. "Please...Logan, I feel so weak. Get me to the Infirmnary."
"Will do."
Captain Logan walked towards Commander Drake, and readied to pull the fallen superior up. However, his helpfulness was only met with an uppercut to the chin. Captain Logan's sunglasses flew off as he screamed holding his eyes. "I'm blind! Alex, help me, I can't see!"
Alex looked down at the Captain with a smirk. "Do not worry Captain. Where you're going, you don't need to see."
Captain Logan felt the coldness of metal against his head. His breathing became steady as when Alex started talking to him earlier. His eyes were tightly shut, as he prayed, "Please God, don't let me die..."
