Chapter 1: History Drawn, Part 1.
A large amount of civilians ranging from ages 5 to 50 have all united in a local centre for one reason and one reason only; Power Rangers – the television show being such a hit for nearly fourteen years now.
“Hey Alic – so you actually made it,” a boy shouted.
“Hey Anthony – did you really think anything would stop me from coming to this?” Alic responded.
“You think any of the Ranger-Board admins are here?” Anthony asked.
“I’d like to sock’em a good one if they were,” Alic responded.
Alic then noticed a stand selling Power Ranger merchandises – he quickly rushed over to see if he could find any of the rare products he’s been looking to add to his collection.
“… These all look like boot-leg,” Alic thought to himself – not wanting to offend the salesman.
Anthony then quickly rushes over to pull Alic away from the scam.
“Don’t waste your money like that,” Anthony advised.
“Toys aren’t a waste of money,” Alic responded.
“You’re a bit too obsessed with P.R,” Anthony pointed out.
“No – well maybe, I just made it my hobby just like how you collect model cars,” Alic replied.
A few hours came and gone as they waited severely in a long line-up to obtain autographs.
“So, who’d you get to sign yours?” Anthony asked.
“Jason David Frank,” Alic responded, “and who’d you get?”
“Johnny Yong Bosch,” Anthony replied.
“I’m going to frame this,” Alic added.
“That’s a little too much for me to do,” Anthony said.
Alic and Anthony then left the Power Rangers festival – but it rained hard outside.
“Oh crud,” Alic said.
“Hey I brought an umbrella,” Anthony offered.
“Sorry – I don’t believe in umbrellas,” Alic responded.
“What – how can you not believe in umbrellas? What’s that suppose to mean anyway?” Anthony asked confusedly.
“It means I just don’t – I hate using’em,” Alic responded.
“Well – suit yourself, I gotta’ head over to my father’s place for his birthday dinner – are you just going to walk home?” Anthony asked.
“Well alright – and yes, it’s just water – what harm can it cause?” Alic asked rhetorically.
“Alright then – message me later,” Anthony told him.
“Will do,” Alic responded.
Alic then headed home – he began walking down a large hill and he only had Power Rangers in his mind.
“Oh man, I can’t wait to show this autograph off on R.B,” Alic thought.
As he constantly thought about Power Rangers – his body began heating up in excitement. He then begun walking down the hill much quicker – he then slips, falling back and knocking his head on the cement….
Two Years Ago
“Collin – wake up, Mr. Taily’s heading this way,” a boy whispered.
“uhmm… what?” Collin asked.
“Get up,” the boy whispered again.
“Mr. Bouché – sleeping again?” Mr. Taily asked.
“Oh… umm… sir no – I was just resting my eyes,” Collin responded.
“Listen Collin, I wouldn’t mind seeing your father about this lack of concentration again,” Mr. Taily threatened.
“Okay – okay, I promise it won’t happen again,” Collin Bouché promised.
A few hours later after school was over.
“Dude – if you keep this up you won’t graduate at all,” the same boy in class pointed out.
“Edison relax – I just haven’t been myself lately,” Collin said.
“I’m just trying to help you pull your life together – whatever,” Edison says as he left.
“Damn guy…” Collin thought as he then looked as his watch, “Oh crud – I forgot I was supposed to meet Melissa by the fountain in the park.”
Collin then rushes out of the door and headed to his Civic 2003.
“Dad – what are you doing here?” Collin asked as he approached his father by his car.
“Your principal called – your grades are still down – what am I suppose to do with you?” Mr. Bouché asked.
“Dad – not now – not here,” Collin said.
“Yes now son – I love you and I want you to get somewhere in life,” Mr. Bouché responded.
Collin stood there in silence starring into his father’s eyes.
“Give me your keys,” Mr. Bouché demanded.
“What – what for?” Collin asked.
“I’m taking your car away – it’s enough with the girls and the parties and more time for the studies,” Mr. Bouché lectured.
“Lay off dad – this is my life,” Collin said as he jumped into his car and rushed off.
He then forgot about this meeting with his girl friend and drove off.
“Yes I know this is the fifth time calling but my son’s missing,” Mr. Bouché yells on the phone with the police, “Alright – fine.”
Collin then is seen driving up to a night club - he waits in line. An old lady then approached him and asks,
“Do you know where the Riversin Apartments are, son?”
“Yes ma’am – it’s just two blocks down,” Collin responded.
“Will you please take me?” Collin sighs and agreed.
Once they reached there she claimed her cat was in the alley and asked him to find it for her.
“Ma’am – I don’t see any cats,” Collin yells.
A man then walked out from the shadows and approached the old lady.
“Alright now – you take it from here,” the old lady said to the man.
“Alright kid – hand over your wallet, watch and whatever else valuables you got,” the man demanded as he drew his gun.
“What? No way,” Collin refused.
Over at the night club, Collin’s girlfriend comes driving in with her friends – she got out after spotting Collin’s car and wondered where he was. She walked up to the bouncer and showed a picture of him and asked,
“Did you see this guy go in already?”
“Not tonight no,” the bouncer responded, “I think I saw him walking an old lady down that way.”
A gun shot was then heard.
“Mr. Bouché – we found your son,” a police officer said on the phone.
“Really? Thank-you,” Mr. Bouché responded.
“I’m sorry… but he’s been shot and taken to the local hospital,” the police officer broke the news.
Mr. Bouché then drops his phone and rushed to the hospital.
Melissa and Mr. Bouché waited in the lobby.
A doctor then walked out slowly towards them.
“I’m sorry – but he didn’t make it,” the doctor sadly gave the news.
Mr. Bouché and Melissa then broke into tears – but then a nurse comes running out crying,
“He’s back – he’s back!”
Hours later Collin awoke from surgery.
“Son,” Mr. Bouché says cheerfully.
“Dad,” Collin responded.
Two Months Later
Collin’s sitting his class fiddling with his pen – not a single day went by that he could not think about his life and death situation.
“What’s wrong?” Edison asked.
“I feel a bit strange…” Collin responded.
“How so?” Edison asked again.
“Like I’m going to explode,” Collin responded again.
Collin raced home feeling ill – Edison tagged along to make sure he was alright.
“I really should call an ambulance,” Edison said as he reached for the phone.
Collin then screamed to the top of his lungs as electrical surges began circling him and his body constantly changing visibly.
“What’s happening to you…?” Edison mumbled to himself, frightened.
To be continued….
