Episode: 1.1 – “Rememberance Part 1”

EXT. ANGEL GROVE HIGHSCHOOL
A sign is put up, class reunion 1996.

INT. ANGEL GROVE HIGHSCHOOL
An old friend, Ernie, can be seen serving
drinks and food. We also see an older and more
mature, Bulk and Skull. People are laughing,
celebrating, and remembering their times
at Angel Grove High. Jason and Zach
enter.

ERNIE

Hey!! How are you guys?!

JASON

Hey Ernie! How’ve you been?

ERNIE

Great. After Angel Grove I went off to the San Francisco Culinary Academy.

ZACH

Wow, that’s great Ernie. I always knew your food would take you somewhere.

JASON

Speaking of which, how about two of your best smoothies.

ERNIE

You got it.
He winks.

JASON (to Zach)

You see the others, yet?

ZACH (eyeing the crowd)

No man… I don’t see them.

INT. ANGEL GROVE HIGH
Kimberly enters with Trini and
Billy. They notice the others,
and they approach. They hug
eachother.

BILLY

It’s been too long.

KIMBERLY

You got that right.

JASON

How was your flight, Billy?

BILLY

It went alright, a little turbulant near the alpha sector. But I managed not to lose my lunch.

(they laugh in unison)

TRINI

Where’s Tommy?

ZACH

We thought he was coming with you?

JASON

You know how busy teachers are. He’s probably running a bit late.

KIMBERLY (eyeing the door)

Speak of the devil.

(Tommy enters. He notices the gang, and approaches.)

KIMBERLY (with a grin)

Doctor Thomas Oliver, how are you?

TOMMY

Ah, you know how it is. A little teaching here, and a little fighting there.

KIMBERLY

So it’s true then? You served as another ranger?

TOMMY

You know me. Old habbits die hard.

JASON
(gets a serious look on his face)

I don’t know about you guys. But I’ve been having these nightmares. I remember our final battle together… and there was something amiss. Something I could never put my finger on.

ZACH

Hey Jason. We should probably take this outside.

CUT TO:

EXT. ANGEL GROVE SCHOOL PARK
The former rangers sit together at a table,
reminising on old times.

JASON

I still haven’t gotten over Zordon’s death. It’s like some sort of seperation anxiety.

KIMBERLY

Well, you remember what he told us when we very first got our powers? He said we’d always be binded to them, no matter what. I don’t think we’ve ever lost what we had. Do you guys… (BEAT) Do you guys still carry your communicators?

ALL RANGERS

Yes, yeah. Yep.

ZACH

So uhh. Billy. What’s the great Aqua planet like?

BILLY

Really wet.

(they all laugh.)

TRINI

I know what you mean, Jason. I still feel Zordon from time to time. Like he’s still out there, and one day he’s going to call our communicators. And we’ll return to action.

JASON

But it just seems so much more than a nightmare.

TOMMY

There are still monsters out there, Jason. The battles are still being waged, and even though for the meantime I’m not a ranger. I know what you mean, and you’re all right. Your powers are still inside of you, just like Zordon is inside all of us.

KIMBERLY

Guys.. I have a crazy idea. We should hike to the command center. Just for old times sake. I want to see what’s there.

JASON

Sounds like a good idea to me. Guys?

(All the rangers agree.)

Fade to black.

INT. COMMAND CENTER II
Cobwebs and emptiness surround
what used to be a base of hope,
warriors, and memories. Billy
turns the lights on.

BILLY

Just how I left it.

ZACH

Talk about De-ju-vu.

TRINI

It isn’t the same without Zordon.

(Billy notices a blinking light on one of the computers.)

BILLY

Huh…

JASON

What is it?

BILLY

Well, according to this computer, there was some transmitions received before the command center was abandoned. They are unchecked.

JASON

Play em.

BILLY

Alright, let me see if I can re-sink the algarythums. Ok, here goes nothing.

(All the rangers jump back as a holographic Zordon appears on the screen. And a compartment opens, revealing 6 power coins.)

ZORDON

Rangers, if you are receiving this message, than I am no longer with you, and you have come back to the command center. I am happy that you have all reunited, and at the same time, I am saddened I could not be with you. I have one last request for you, to do me a favor I had always put off to ask. Since I am no longer active, I need you to fly to my home world of Sarkanton. There I have a brother, Zoltar. I never told you this, but during your Zeo transformation I had hidden your power coins in a secret unit, had one day you lost all morphing ability. The coins that were destroyed were fakes. Please, rangers, unite once again, and help bring my brother back here. There is a greater.. (distorted sounds)…

(The message ends)

JASON

What happened?

BILLY

I… I don’t know. It just stopped.

(the teens eye eachother carefully.)

TOMMY

Are we going to do this?

KIMBERLY

We have to… it was Zordon’s last wish. We owe it to him.

BILLY

I agree with you guys, but I’d feel more safe if we got the rest of the message unscrambled… There could be something Zordon needed to tell us, for our own safety.

JASON

It’s a good thought Billy. But if we’re going to do this, we have to do it now.

TOMMY

You ready guys?

(they pick up the coins and place them in their morphers.)

RANGERS

Ready.

JASON

It’s morphin time!

Fade to Black.

Nice man. But wasn't the Command Center.......destroyed? Rebuilt into the Power Chamber? And destroyed again?

Thanks. Um.. to answer your question, this is the underground Zeo command center. There might be some plot holes, considering I don't remember alot between Zeo and Space (I hated Turbo). But when has there not been plot holes in Power Rangers? Let's say it was "drained of it's power, kinda". But with enough left for the rangers to get back into action. :005:

Dude, interesting premise (bringing the OG Rangers back and all), but I just want to suggest you tighten up your writing. Reads fine, but the way you have it spaced made it a little hard to read. Just a thought.

Thanks man. I'll try that next time, maybe I'll type it all out in notepad instead of WORD. The whole pages thing, sorta screwed me up.

Just make sure Word is set so all the text is aligned to the left side. There should be those Paragraph buttons on Word's command bar at the top.

Alright cool, thanks again. I hope you don't mind if I add you to my AOL-IM list.

Why did you have Zordon from a planet other than Eltar? Not that you can't do that it's just common knowledge where he is from.

I haven't seen Day of the Dumpster in such along time.. sorry.

Its almost common knowledge that Zordon is from Eltar

Maybe u should do some research between zeo and space so that way their won't be as many plotholes. Just some adivice

Hmmm.....sounds suspiciously like a rough interpretation of a fanfic idea I suggested to Splush who required assistance coming up with a new story....
http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=45466

I'm sure it's a coincidence though. I just hope whatever Splush is working on isn't imparted upon by this story. In any case, this is a pretty good story. I'm interested in almost any (good) story that uses the original team and this seems as though it's starting out to be a pretty good fanfic.
