Why so the people who wrote them can be like " FUcK all YoU RaNGerBoaRd asSHoles I'm going to Power rangers empire where they are nice?!!!!!" It would be mean to be like 86% say yours is the worst.

I belive its been done, and was shut down by the mods about 6-9 months ago.

Oh okay. Thought it hadn't been done. Shame they had to close it down. I wanted to nominate the fanfictions I thought was worst. I guess it was forbidden cause of the authors who complained. Though isn't freedom of speech still allowed in this world? People fanfictions who doesn't write good should be added to the worst list.

I'd have to nominate 98% of the fics on this board.

hey Splush, where are you these days? Your no longer on MSN....

People who's fics are margional normally slip by. Those who's absolutly and totally suck normally get run off the board (Tasha Oliver). There is a line between freedom of speech (reviweing people's work), and willfully terrorizing n00bs (yes, I know thats fun...but seriously)

I'm all for free speech. But there are some people in the world that are seriously not meant to be writers. They have good ideas but they can't write well. And if you can't write well, no matter how cool your idea is, you'll be derided as a fanfic writer.
And I'm not talking "grammar nazi". If you mis-spell a few words here or there, that's fine. No one's perfect. But if you have twenty typos on every line and indecipherable script format, you're not going to get away scot free.

It's fun to flame the ones who can't write. I think it's funny as hell. If they don't know how to write. They need to just quit and let the professions write.

It isn't nice to flame others for this purpose. I know. I have grammar problems etc. It's because I get anxious by writing a fan fiction. It's a whole new experience to me and especially posting it makes me more anxious. It isn’t easy writing in my book. Some may write easy as cake. Though it anxious me to attempt a fan fiction.

I want to write. It's my hobby to. No matter anyone else says I'm going to continue writing to try and prove that I will attempt a wonderful fanfiction.

I don't think all the fanfics are bad here. But if the commentary on them comes only every couple of posts, how will we know? If you don't like something about a series, say it to the author and they may improve on it. If you like something, compliment them.

Here are a few ideas on how to prevent your fic from being mocked.
1. NO sex fics. I think we can come to an agreement that none of us really want to read about Trent giving it to Connor. (Aisha/Kim/Kat threesome fics, however, may be PMed to me.)
2. On 99.9% of computers out there, there is a function called Spell and Grammar Check. Use it before you post.
3. Print off a copy of the story and read it aloud. If you can't understand what the hell you wrote, go back and rewrite it. If you can't get to a printer (which is understandable) at least read it off the screen. This also applies to non-fanfics.
4. Don't rush a chapter just because you're excited about it. I admit that I still do that from time to time, but it's better to wait and work on it in private first.
5. Don't fly off the handle if someone doesn't like your fic. It'll only make them mock it more.
6. Like I said, writing isn't for everybody. If you write five stories and all of them get universally panned, then it's not them. It's you.
7. We're not tied down by rules about "positive comments only". So if your fics got sugarcoated responses on other boards, expect otherwise here.
These aren't hard and fast rules, but trust me, they work.

Shit...I just typed up alot of good advice and clicked two bottuns and deleted it all... Fuck that I'm not re-typing all that.
Well here is some good advice anyways. Don't be lazy like me. Put lots of effort into your fic and keep on it... I personaly think I have a jaw-drop fic in the works... I finished the research part, and have story boards completed for two chapters but I did that months ago and have not worked on the damn thing for months....

Well I'm staying myself. If I think a fanfiction stinks, I'll flame it and share my compliement on it. I probably have a bad fanfiction, but I don't care if they flame it. I just laugh and get a kick out of it.

...God, she was horrid.
Masondogbot was absolutely atrocious. MSTing him was pretty easy. Packfan is also bad, although much better in the readability department (he's still a hack, though).

I'm not her. I just want to be nice. I don't like to admit to people when their fan fictions suck. I tell them they need improvements etc. I'm trying to be nice to people so I won't get banned.

You can be...mostly honest and not get banned. No one's going to give you a 2 day'er for saying someone's fic made your last math test look compelling.

well, i personally didn't like her obsession w/Tommy and how she always hooked up w/him in her fics, but just because Tenkuujin thinks her writing is good - i think her writing is blech, now that i look back on it - doesn't mean u should pick on HIM.

Oh thank god you said this!
I was looking over this thread and noticed that the majority of the people commenting in this thread (besides Kali, she's an awesome writer and few others, I don't remember names well) either:
A) Haven't posted a fanfic in centuries
B) Have posted a lame ass fanfic
C) Combo of both A and B
In either case, if someone hadn't of said this - thanks TSoldier- I would've lost my head and started flaming the shit out of you guys.
Oh and Kali, you're right. Don't flame Tenjukin because he has an opinion on something. That's wrong.

To me a horrible fanfic is something that doesn't draw me in...this is due to several reasons:
1. The plot is non-existant, or boring
2. VERY BAD spelling...can't read anything etc..
3. Script format...I hate that
4. Over-use of profanity and/or sexuality in fics turns me off
Know one hated Tasha's fics more than I.

You mean there are actually fanfics about the threesome, are they banned or are they still there <minus trent and conner> (not that I'm a pervert)

I don't know if there are any Kim/Aisha/Kat fanfics out there. I personally haven't seen any, but then again I don't really go around looking for them.
And besides, it was a semi-sarcastic comment.
