It was Kira’s first day back at school. She had a quiet summer which she enjoyed especially after all the trouble with Mesagog last year. Kira sat down at a desk. She saw a blonde girl walk into the classroom. Kira figured the girl must be new at school since she hadn’t seen the girl last year. The girl looked around the room awkwardly since she did not know anyone there.
Kira kindly said, “You can come sit next to me.”
The girl smiled and said, “Thank you. I’m new here.”
“I figured. I’m Kira Ford.”
“Hi. I’m Amy Floyd.”
“Cool, like Pink Floyd. They’re cool.”
“Who?”
“Umm, never mind. Anyway you’ll like this class. Dr. O is a great teacher.”
“Cool.”
After class Amy and Kira walked in the halls together. Kira said, “Well it was great meeting you. If you’re not busy why don’t you meet me at Haley’s Cyberspace tonight? I can introduce you to my friends.”
“Okay. That sounds great. I’ll look forward to it.”
“Great!”
Amy was then on her way to her next class. She knew the class was on the lower level of the school so she went to the stairs. However she was actually on the stairs that led to the basement. Amy opened the door at the bottom of the stairwell and went into the basement. The door shut behind her. She looked around and said, “Oops I think I went down a bit too far.” She tried to open the door again but it was locked from the side she was on. She knocked a few times but realized no one was going to come for her. So instead she decided to try and find another ay out.
Amy wandered the dank basement alone. She noticed a pink mist in the air. She wondered what it could be. Amy turned a corner and saw a flash of pink light. Amy stared in wonder at what she saw.
Later that day Kira was at Haley’s Cyberspace with Conner and Ethan. She was waiting for Amy to show up. They waited a good hour and Amy still never showed up.
Conner said, “Um Kira I don’t think she’s coming.”
Ethan replied, “Keen observation Conner.”
“Ha, ha.”
Kira said, “I don’t understand. I didn’t see her the rest of the day at school either. I wonder where she could have gone. Can you guys come with me to look for her?”
Ethan said, “Sorry I gotta be getting home.”
Conner replied, “Yeah I can go with you Kira.”
“Thanks Conner. See ya later Ethan.”
It was the early evening and the sky was a brilliant shade of pink. Kira and Conner ended up at the school after searching other parts of the town. Unbeknownst to them the pink mist had now completely covered the basement in the school. Conner asked, “You didn’t get her cell phone number or anything?”
“No.”
“Well maybe she just went home and forgot.”
“No. Something must be wrong. Don’t forget she was missing from the latter part of school too.”
Conner put his hand on Kira’s shoulder. He said, “Don’t worry we’ll find her.”
“Thanks Conner.” Kira smiled.
Conner gently caressed Kira’s shoulder and moved up to her neck. Kira asked quietly, “Conner what are you doing?”
Conner lightly nibbled on her neck and whispered, “Shhh, we won’t find her if you keep making so much noise.”
Just then a pink ranger jumped out and grabbed Conner. She pulled him off Kira and kicked him to the ground. She said, “And how do you like being kicked Mr. Soccer boy? All you do is kick balls all day. Well I know some balls I can kick right now!”
Conner cringed and grabbed his crotch. He said, “What? Who the heck are you? Another ranger?”

“I’m the pink ranger big guy. And I got a score to settle with you.”
“What? Why? Who are you?”
“I have power now, so now I can accomplish what I came here for. And you’re on my list bucko.”
Kira said, “Who are you? And where did you get the power to become a ranger?”
“Same as you rock star.”
“A dino gem?”
“Ding ding we have a winner. Your prize is I’ll leave you alone as long as you stay out of this.”
“No. Conner is my friend.”
“Aww boo hoo. Too bad you can’t morph or anything to help him. Poor boy should not associate with such lava-ly beings.”
Tommy morphed as the black ranger came to the rescue. He said, “Well I can morph.”
The pink ranger said, “I have no quarrel with you black ranger. Just stay out of this.”
“Sorry I can’t do that.”
“Well golly. Guess it’s time for some love American Gladiator style!”
Pink ranger took out her bow and shot Tommy with her arrows. Tommy was weakened but that didn’t stop him. He took out his brachio staff and hit the pink ranger with it.
She said, “Whoa Burai, that one kinda hurt! Didn’t your mother ever tell you not to hit girls?”
“Just tell me who you are and maybe we can work this out.”
“Um, how about no. I’ll leave you alone if you just let me get my revenge on Eric McKnight like I planned.”
Conner said, “I’m not Eric. That’s my brother. You have the wrong guy.”
“OH? Hmm. My bad. Adios Rangers! Mystery in Pink! Psst that’s the titular line!”
“Huh?”
“And off she went!”
The pink ranger vanished. Kira and Conner wondered what that was all about. Tommy said, “We have to find out more about this ranger and what she wants.”
Conner said, “Yeah I wonder why she’s so mad at Eric. I’ll call him tonight and see what he has to say.”
Kira also began to wonder why Conner had been so flirtatious earlier. She was about to leave the school and go home when she spotted Amy walking alone. Kira went up to her and said, “Amy where have you been? I was looking all over for you. I thought something happened to you.”
“Oh, I’m okay.”
“What’s wrong?”
“I just feel a little sick.”
“Is that why you left school early?”
“Frankly I can’t really remember much of anything that’s happened ever since we spoke in class earlier today.”
“Oh really?” Kira noticed a pink bracelet on Amy’s arm. She realized that Amy showed up right after the pink ranger disappeared. Kira began to wonder just who Amy really was.
Amy said, “Well Kira I really should be getting home. I feel really sick.”
“Um, yeah okay. Well I’ll see you in class tomorrow.”
When Kira got home she called Tommy. She said, “Dr. O, I think I might have a lead on who this new pink ranger is.”
“That’s great Kira who is it?”
“Well I’m not sure yet so I’d rather not say. But I will keep an eye on her.”
“Okay Kira.”
“Oh by the way I wanted to ask, how were you able to morph?”
“Haley and I have been experimenting on the dino gems. We’ve managed to restore power to the black dino gem and we’re working on restoring the your dino gems as well.”
“Oh cool. That will be helpful.”
“Yeah really.”
The next day at school Kira saw that Amy was not in class. After class Tommy asked Kira, Conner, and Ethan to stay after. He said, “I have some important new s for you all. Haley and I were able to re-energize the dino gems.”
Ethan said, “All right! The power rangers are back!”
Kira asked, “And did you find out anything about the pink ranger?”
“We do know that she must have bonded with a pink dino gem in order to get her power. She must have created her own morpher though, unless she got someone else to make it for her.”
Conner said, “I tried calling my brother Eric at the academy. But Dustin said he hadn’t seen Eric ever since they got back in session for the fall.”
Tommy said, “That is weird. There’s obviously a lot more going on here than we know.”
Ethan said, “Well good thing our dino gems have power again.”
Tommy gave them their dino gems and their powers were restored. He said, “Haley will make sure Trent gets his dino gem. Then we will all be active again. We still don’t know much about this pink ranger so I advise you all to be cautious.”
The teens then went to their next classes. Ethan was late for his next class and was stopped in the hallway by Principal Randall.
She asked, “Ethan do you have a hall pass?”
“No.”
“I’m sorry then I’ll have to give you detention.”
“I don’t think so!”
Ethan jump kicked Elsa and she was caught off guard. She asked, “Ethan what is the matter with you?”
Ethan used his super strength from the dino gem and knocked Elsa out. Elsa lay on the floor unconscious. Tommy came into the hall and saw what Ethan had done. He said, “Ethan what’s going on here?”
Ethan looked scared. He said, “I don’t know. I just…I didn’t mean to.”
Tommy helped Elsa up and held her in his arms. He said. “Something strange is going on here.”
Kira and Conner were in their next class together. As they were waiting for the teacher to get started Kira said, “Conner about last night?”
“That pink ranger? Yeah that was weird.”
“No I mean before that.”
“I know. Um, I was thinking about that too. Honestly Kira I don’t know what came over me.”
“So you mean…”
“I don’t know what I mean. I’m sorry it happened and it won’t happen again I promise.”
“Okay.”
Ethan had gone back into Tommy’s classroom with Tommy and Elsa. Tommy had called Ethan’s teacher to excuse him from class.
Ethan said, “Really Dr. O, I had no intention of hurting Principal Randall.”
“I believe you Ethan. There’s more going on around here than any of us are aware of. And I believe it has something to do with the pink ranger. We have to stop her.”
“Well if we do find her make sure you find out what she’s all about instead of hitting on her.”
“Excuse me?”
“Hey I saw the footage. I know you have a thing for the pink rangers.”
“Don’t go there.”
After school Kira decided to seek out Amy. She was convinced Amy was somehow connected to the pink ranger, or that she might even be the pink ranger. Before Kira could even leave the campus she was attacked by a monster. Kira used her Ptera Scream to stave the monster off. This only angered the monster. He drank some growing potion and grew to a gigantic size. Kira on her communicator said, “Uh guys we have trouble out here by the school.”
Tommy replied over the communicator, “Okay Kira we’ll be right there.”
The black, red, blue, and white rangers came to her aid. They called on the dino zords to battle the monster.
The tyrannozord, the tricerazord, and p combined to create the thundersaurus megazord. The megazord fought off the monster but this monster was proving to be stronger than the rangers had expected. He big rock like hands and from them he shot out fire balls at the zords.
Tommy and Trent could see the rangers would need some assistance. They called on their zords and formed the triceramax megazord.
The triceramax and thundersaurus fought the monster but their attempts did not seem to cause much damage to the monster’s rock hard skin. The monster knocked the two megazords down.
The monster was about to give a final blow and destroy the megazords when a new zord came flying in. It was the pink raptor zord.

The raptor zord shot the monster with its laser beams. The raptor zord then temporarily cloned itself and the two raptor zords attacked the monster from either side. The monster was destroyed by the attack of the raptors. The pink ranger jumped out of the raptor zord and stood on its head. She said, “Thanks for softening him up for me rangers. Next time just leave it to me though. I don’t need you guys messing things up for me.”
With that the pink ranger vanished again. The rangers were speechless. They had been beaten by a monster and then saved by the mysterious pink ranger.
Conner said, “I’m confused. So is that pink ranger on our side or the bad guys side?”
Kira said, “I think she’s on her own side. She’s obviously got some mission and apparently we’re not part of it.”
Ethan said, “But she’s a ranger like us. We should all work together.”
Trent said, “Maybe her gem is making her act this way. The way mine made me evil at first.”
Kira replied, “But she’s not evil. That’s the thing. Okay maybe she did come off a little hostile the other night, but something tells me she’s a good guy.”
Conner asked, “Then why would she want to hurt my brother?”
“Well you got a point there. Okay so I don’t have all the answers.”
Tommy said, “Whatever her motive is, she is a loose cannon. We have to keep an eye out for her and make sure she doesn’t hurt anyone innocent.”
After the fight Kira decided she would confront Amy. She found out from Elsa, where Amy lived and went to her house. Kira knocked on the door and Amy’s dad answered. He said, “Amy’s up in her room. She’s not feeling well. I’m glad to see she’s all ready made such a good friend that would come visit here while she’s ill. Go on upstairs.”
“Thank you Mr. Floyd.”
Kira entered Amy’s room. Amy lay in bed and looked very pale. Kira asked, “Amy how are you?”
“Not very good.”
“Amy I need to know something. Please tell me the truth.”
“What is it Kira?”
“I need to know…are you the pink ranger?”

Amy looked at Kira puzzled. She asked, “I’m sorry what?”
“Are you the pink ranger Amy?”
“What? No of course not.”
“Oh. Okay. Well I’m sorry I bothered you.”
“Kira wait. I just remembered something from yesterday. When I was in the basement yesterday. I saw something.”
“What was it?”
“There was this pink mist all over. And then I saw someone. A girl. I didn’t see her face though. She turned into a power ranger.”
“Really? What color ranger was she?”
“A pink ranger.”
“Really?”
“Yeah. So why did you think I was the pink ranger?”
“Oh never mind that now. It was a mistake.”
“So why are you so interested in the pink ranger anyway?”
“Um….I’m just a big power ranger fan.”
“Oh. Okay. Well if you don’t mind I’d really like to get some more rest.”
“Oh of course. No problem. See you later Amy.”
Kira left now even more confused about who this new pink ranger could be. She thought briefly, “Could it be….no…I mean, maybe….Adelle? Ummm, okay maybe not.”
Conner saw a pretty blonde girl sitting alone at Cyberspace. She was wearing a pink shirt and a blue jacket. He went over to her intending to hit on her. He said, “Hey I haven’t seen you around here before. I’m Conner.”

“Karin Kitsurubami.”
“Are you new in town?”
“Oh I see. And then you’re gonna make some irrelevant small talk and then the ever predictable, ‘Oh well maybe I can show you around town.’ Save it, I’ve heard it all before.”
“Um…okay.”
“Let me give you a nickel’s worth of free advice. Stick to girls in your league. Cuz face it champ, I am way out of your league.”
“Hey I was just trying…”
“I know what you were just trying. Later sporto.”
Karin left Conner speechless. He thought she had been rather rude, but decided to forget about her.
Karin meanwhile was on a mission. She had come to Reefside for a purpose.
She thought, “Well now that I’ve bonded with the pink gem I have Earth-moving abilities. This will definitely come in handy against Taligore. Now if only I could find a way into his lair. Too bad ranger powers don’t come with teleportation powers anymore. Anyway I can’t just wait around for Taligore to attack again. It’s not like he’s just gonna fall out of the sky in front of me.”
Just then Karin saw Taligore coming down from space into the city. She said, “Wow that bit really does work!”

Taligore was a huge lava type monster much like his deceased relative Dark Specter. He said, “Oh if it isn’t little Kitsurubami. Well now I’ll destroy you just like I did your father.”
“You bastard! I defeated that loser rock monster you sent before, and now I’ll defeat you!”
“That monster was just a warm up. Defeating me will not be so easy.”
“Oh yeah? I now have the pink dino gem, not to mention the raptor zord.”
“That raptor zord is mine!”
“Ha! You snooze you lose dude.”
“Prepare to die Kitsurubami!”
“Pink ranger dino power!”
The pink ranger called on her Raptor zord and hopped in. The raptor zord and Taligore fought each other. Taligore was extremely large, but the raptor zord was not too much smaller than he. Pink ranger was able to keep up with Taligore for the most part letting her thirst for revenge power her. However Taligore knocked the raptor zord down, being careful not to fully destroy it, since he did wish to possess it. The pink ranger fell out of the zord and lay on the ground knocked unconscious.
Just then the dino rangers came to the rescue. Their zords, together, attacked Taligore which sent him retreating back into space. As he left he cried, “I will get what is rightfully mine Kitsurubami! Just you wait!”
The rangers went to aid the pink ranger. Her visor was cracked and Conner saw that she was Karin, the girl he had met earlier. They took Karin, still unconscious, back to the lair.
A while later Karin finally regained consciousness. She looked upset. She said, “I need to go. I have to stop Taligore now.”
Tommy said, “He’s gone Karin.”
“No! I can’t believe I let myself get beaten by him.”
“Karin we’re the power rangers. We want to help you.”
“I don’t need your help. This is my job and I should be the one to handle it.”
“But you’re a power ranger like us. If we work together, we can help you defeat Taligore.”
“He killed my father.”
Conner asked, “What happened Karin? And what is your relation to my twin brother?”
“All right. You guys really wanna know? Here goes…”
Karin began to narrate how she came to be in her current situation:

-I’m from the planet Alenoi. Our planet had been held captive by Taligore for many years. My father Professor Arjun Kitsurubami was one of the brightest professor’s ever to live. He’s up their with the likes of Professor Frink, Professor Monitoff, and even Professor Phenomenous.
Taligore knew of my father’s knowledge and decided to exploit it. He forced my father to build him a powerful raptor zord. My father refused at first but then agreed to build it when Taligore threatened me.
After he had began construction on the zord my father told me, “Karin, the zord is nearly complete. But I won’t let Taligore have it. If he were to gain control of this zord he would become even more powerful than he is now. I do not want to be the one responsible for that.”
“What are we going to do father?”
“I want you to go into the zord and activate it. It has the ability to fly. Get it ready to go.”
“But what about you? What about everyone here?”
“I will keep Taligore pre-occupied. Then once you have the zord ready for take off, I’ll come join you. We’ll take the zord to the planet Earth. I know of some powerful dino gems there, that will give whoever possesses it great power. If we can get our hands on one of those gems we will stand a better chance of defeating Taligore.”
“But father what about the people stuck here?”
“We’ll have to leave them. If we stay here we won’t be helping them much anyway.”
“I guess you’re right doc.”
The day had come for us to go through with our plan. I snuck into the raptor zord while my father talked with Taligore. I got the zord all set and then shot Taligore with a fire ball from the zord. This caught Taligore off guard and my father was able to take that chance to get into the zord with me. We flew off and headed toward Earth hoping Taligore would not find us before we could find the dino gem.
My father had heard of the power rangers in Blue Bay Harbor so we thought going there would be a wise choice, and hoped we could find the dino gem. We settled in there and began to look all over for the dino gems.
One day I was at the Wind Ninja Academy hoping to enroll and learn some ninja training so I could help fight Taligore. That’s where I met Eric. Eric and I hit off right away. He was a lot like me. I could be serious at times, but mostly I’m a little goofy and well, weird.
I said, “Hi, I was wondering how someone could sign up for this ninja school.”
Eric replied, “Oh well we’re kinda in the middle of a semester all ready. I don’t think they take in students this late.”
“That’s too bad. I was hoping I’d get to spend a little more time with you.”
Eric smiled and said, “Well dude, we can still hang out you know. Just name the time and place.”
“Tonight, 612 Wharf Avenue.”
“612 Wharf Avenue? I know where that is! That’s the old warehouse next to melon shaker’s…the gentlemen’s club.”
“Sweet you watch that show too?”
“Yeah, man Aqua Teen Hunger force is the best!”
“Yeah, I just started watching it myself, but it’s really funny.”
“That’s cool. But seriously we should go out tonight. You seem really cool.”
“Yeah you seem pretty cool yourself.”
“By the way I’m Eric.”
“I’m Karin.”
So me and Eric went out and I had such a great time. He was like…so perfect for me. I started spending more time with him over the next few weeks. I felt kinda guilty but my father reassured me I should be having fun. He in the meantime continued to search for the dino gem.
Little did we know that Taligore was hot on our tails. He had found us in Blue Bay Harbor and had been waiting to strike. He saw how close I was with Eric and Taligore being the sadistic creature he is, decided to use Eric against me.
Eric was walking home one night after our date. Taligore approached him and put him under his control. Eric now had a growling low voice, red eyes, and enhanced strength.
Taligore said, “You will help me. Get to her father Arjun, and kill him for betraying me.”
“Yes master.”
I had gotten home that night and my father said, “Karin I think I have a new lead! We’ve been looking in the wrong place all this time. It turns out the dino gems have been found in a nearby city called Reefside. There are 5 power rangers there all ready. But there is still the pink dino gem. They have not found it yet.”
“They don’t know of it?”
“No. Because it was meant for you.”
“Me?”
“Yes. That’s another thing I haven’t told you about the dino gems. Not just anyone can possess one. You have to be the right person, and you Karin are the right person.”
He handed me a morpher he had built. He said, “When you find the pink dino gem you can use this morpher to become the pink ranger. Now we must go.”
“But…Eric.”
“I know you have feelings for him Karin, but we must retrieve the pink dino gem. It is your destiny.”
“I understand father.”
I was packing my bag to leave when I heard a knock on the door. I went to answer it and saw that it was Eric. He seemed different.
Eric said, “Out of my way!”
“Eric what’s wrong?”
“Nothing’s wrong. I’ve never felt better!”
“Your voice. Eric, you’re scaring me.”
Eric’s hand was red from heat. He punched me with it and I was knocked down. He then went to get my father. He said, “Professor Kitsurubami, I’ve come to bring you to Taligore.”
“Eric think about what you’re doing here.”
“I know exactly what I’m doing.”
I had gotten up and went to stop Eric. I saw Eric burn my father. Eric saw me and said, “I thought I knocked you out.”
“Yeah well I get knocked down, but I get up again, you’re never gonna keep me down.”
“Don’t cry for me next door neighbor. Taligore has shown me how great it feels to be evil!”
“Cry for you? No way Eric. You’re gonna be the one crying when I’m through with you.”
I kicked Eric in the crotch. He fell to the floor holding himself. I said, “All this enhanced power and yet a kick to the crotch still gets you. Gotta love it!”
I looked for my father but noticed he was now missing. Outside Taligore had my father in his hands. Taligore said, “Now Karin this is what happens to people who betray me.”
Taligore crushed my father in his hands. I didn’t know what else to do so I ran. I couldn’t believe I had just witnessed my own father’s death. I ran to the hidden location of the raptor zord. Inside the zord I cried for my father, but I knew I couldn’t just sit there and cry like a little girl. If I was going to avenge my father I knew I must find the pink dino gem. So I went to Reefside. After a few weeks I finally found the pink dino gem in the basement of the school. It was surrounded by a pink mist. I took the pink dino gem and bonded with it. I then used the morpher my father gave me and became the pink ranger.
As I was leaving the school I saw Conner on the field playing soccer. I thought he was Eric, and had come to find me. So I followed Conner and Kira as well through out the day. Finally when they were alone I attacked only to find out that it wasn’t Eric, but Conner instead. Which brings us pretty much up to the present.-

Tommy said, “The pink mist. Do you know why it was there?”
“No. I didn’t care about that. All I cared about was getting revenge on Taligore.”
Haley walked in. She said, “I’ve been doing some research on the pink dino gem.”
Ethan asked, “Yeah what is it Haley?”
“The dino gem is not safe. It was surrounded by the pink mist to keep people away. The mist has a different affect on people who come in contact with it. Now that the dino gem is removed the pink mist is spreading from the school basement. That’s probably why Ethan kicked Elsa.”
Conner said, “And that would explain the way it made me act the other night at the school Kira.”
Kira was relieved to hear that. Then she thought of Amy. She said, “Oh my gosh Amy! She said she saw some pink mist in the basement and she saw Karin morph. Ever since then she’s been really sick.”
Haley said, “Since Amy had such a close exposure to the dino gem she must be affected by it the worst. Every time Karin morphs it will harm Amy even more.”
Karin said, “So what are you trying to say? No more mighty morphin for ol’ Karin?”
“Karin the pink dino gem was not supposed to be used because of its negative affect on people. You must give it up.”
“No! My father was killed because I wasn’t strong enough to protect him. Now I have the power and I’m not giving it up.”
Tommy said, “Karin just listen. We want to help you. We’re power rangers. We can fight Taligore for you.”
“No way! I will finish what I started.”
Karin used her earth-moving abilities and shook the ground. The rangers fell to the floor and Karin got up to leave. She said, “I have to do this my way rangers. I’m sorry.”
Karin was gone.
Kira asked, “Now what do we do?”
Tommy replied, “We have to stop her.”
