Just wanted to know how people would feel if I introduced a sort of real life aspect to Power Ranger fanfiction I mean without the sci-fi element and a whole lot of drama. I've done that before with Fanfiction like Dragonball etc. and people seem to really enjoy it (If I don't finish a certian story people have threatened to kill me :( ) though I don't know if that would ring true with power rangers.

I don't see why it wouldn't work. Breaking out the action during the last five minutes is usually a given with any show. Using 'a whole lot of drama' to develop your characters with is one of the things that fanfics are missing nowadays, Power Rangers or not.

And of course, some fics don't even have any action at all. You wouldn't by any means be the first person to write a PR fic solely based around character-related drama. Although I think everyone who has done this have written them as standalone fics - I'm not aware of any fic series that follows this route.

well, i use ALOT of the drama formula in my Dekaranger fic. it probably takes up 4/5 of the story most of the time. more likely because i love to see drama in fics. a story can never be good with the right amount of development.

good examples would be Aaron Hong's ROTC, Ryuranger's Ultimate PR, Cuiran's Ressurection and well, maybe mine too. you can find all of em on RB, no sweat.

bushwacka: true, i've never seen an entire series which has any episode without ranger action. i might try it soon, in the near future. but usually i try to accomodate the action and drama into one episode.

Well I was thinking about doing a Fanfic about the Post series life of certian characters.(Actually the first part is almost done) it's Going to be a couple of chapters. No sci-fi element but there will be mentioning of stuff etc. Action? alittle bit yeah but no wire work. :shame:

Basically real people real situations and shit disney wouldn't approve of.

I totally agree.

I think that a good writer can make anything work. The best episodes of power Rangers has in depth drama. If you do a good job, there's no reason it shouldn't work. I'm currently working on my 1st fan fic (since MMPR actually aired) and it begins with a 4 part remake of Day of the Dumpster. I realized that there was action, but no fighting in the 1st installment and I'm confident that that won't matter, again, because good writing is what makes the story. Every thing *should* fall into place. The same is true with yours and anyother story.

I think that would be a cool idea.
