Corporeal Catastrophe Tie-In

"In Elseworlds, heroes are taken from their usual settings and put into strange times and places - some that have existed, and others that can't, couldn't or shouldn't exist. The result is stories that make characters who are as familiar as yesterday seem as fresh as tomorrow."

The Power Rangers battle in deserts, in quarries, in space, and especially in cities. In the regular universe, Angel Grove has an uninhabited Warehouse District.

Not so in the Elseworld.

In this alternate Angel Grove, the Warehouse District is thriving, filled with factories of all types. The workers there are lower class compared to the city of Angel Grove, but proud of their heritage. And when the Dragonzord destroyed the District, there was much chaos.

Five teenagers ally with an insane warrior to take revenge against the Power Rangers...

But not before the Power Rangers have their own revelations about the past from a terrifying supervillain...

Parallax, Ninjor and the Kakuranger Powers guest star in "History Forgotten: The Ranger War".

(Note: Ignore "Two Green"; it isn't going to work.)

Edited because I can't figure out what Extant did. I'm going with Parallax instead.

I can explain Extant to you to some...uh...extent (doh) but Parallax would work just as well, I think, so go for either. =)

It's okay. I was reading up on it and decided on Parallax for three reasons.

1. He was the real reason for Zero Hour in the first place

2. I know a lot more about Parallax through the GL comics and GL Rebirth

3. Zero Hour is really, really bad. I can't pay money to see the JSA killed

Hal Parallax or real Parallax? Out of curiosity.

I'm going to guess that you've read GL Rebirth 3. It's the Hal Parallax, the only one they knew of back in '93.

The History Lesson

Part One

The Earth and its Moon were to places to avoid in 1993. Parallax was laying siege to the universe, remaking it to fit his image. But ignoring Parallax was a deranged witch and her equally dumb retainers. She was concentrated on eradicating a group of super-powered teenagers from Angel Grove. And as long as Parallax didn’t interfere, she didn’t care.

“Ha ha ha!” Rita Repulsa shrieked as she looked through her telescope. “I have the perfect plan! Oh Finster!”

“Yes, your wickedness?” the white-skinned alien replied, peeking through the curtain into Rita’s balcony.

“I need you to whip me up a monster that can capture the Rangers and lock them away forever!”

“Capture them?”

Finster darted back into his laboratory, flipped through his monster book, found what he was looking for, and called back to Rita, “I have one, your—oof!”

“Did you just call me an ‘oof’, you insolent toad?! You’ll pay for that!”

“Sorry, my queen. I fell.” His voice sounded slightly odd, but Rita didn’t care.

“So what monster did you have in mind?”

Finster poked his head through the curtain once again, a smile on his face. “I call it… Mr. Ticklesneezer.”

“Didn’t we use one of those on Catura 42?”

“Yes, and to excellent effect.”

“Send him down! And try not to be so clumsy!”

“Yes, my queen,” ‘Finster’ said with fake timidity and he retreated into ‘his’ workshop. The real Finster was tied to the ground and gagged. “That insolent old hag. She has no idea what is coming to her. And this form is repulsive!”

Parallax changed into his human form and stretched. “These Power Rangers… they could become obstacles. I must get them out of my way. And this monster might be the way to do it. Now how does this infernal machine work?”

Part Two

“Yaa!” screamed Jason as he kicked his two Putty opponents. They fell back onto Zack, who pushed them back to Jason. They kept shoving the babbling foot soldiers between them, until finally throwing them onto the ground.

“Oh yeah!” they said, high-fiving.

“Jason!” screamed Kim. The two boys reacted and watched as Kim, Trini and Billy were sucked into a bottle held by a troll. Mr. Ticklesneezer laughed and danced around.

“Yay! New people to add to my collection!” he giggled.

“We have to stop him,” Jason told Zack. “I’ve got an idea.”

“Ooh, it’s your turn!” the troll declared.

Jason and Zack dug their heels in against the suction of the bottle. They each picked up an unconscious Putty Patroller and, as Jason counted to three, flung them into the vacuum. Just as Jason and suspected, the Putties splattered against each other and gummed up the jar.

“Sorry, troll, but you’re going down,” Zack swore. “Jase, let’s do it! Power Axe!”

“Power Sword!”

“Double Strike!” they declared together. They struck the jar together, shattering it and releasing Kim, Billy, Trini, a couple of park benches and a golden retriever.

“That was a prodigious strategy, Jason,” Billy commented.

“Hey, they’re made of clay. It worked out in my head. Now let’s bring ‘em together, guys!”

“Power Axe!”

“Power Bow!”

“Power Lance!”

“Power Daggers!”

“Power Sword!”

The five Rangers arranged themselves behind the Power Blaster and fired. Mr. Ticklesneezer exploded, and the rest of his bottles cracked open, releasing his collection…

And plunging Angel Grove into darkness.

“This isn’t right,” Trini said.

“Quite right, Yellow One,” a sinister voice growled.

A green flash momentarily blinded the Rangers. When they looked up, they were faced with an armored man sheathed in a green energy aura. Parallax smiled and said, “To think that’s what you fight each week.”

“Wait a second,” said Kim, “why are you here?”

“The other heroes aren’t enough of a challenge for you?” added Jason.

“At the moment, no, they aren’t. You have the potential to defeat me. I cannot allow that. So I am going to take you on a brief tour of time… show you where your powers really came from.

Violently, the Rangers demorphed with green energy streaks.

“Now pay attention; this will be on the final.”

Parallax is only appearing in "The History Lesson".

"The Ranger War" features another villain entirely, and one that you won't expect.

And he's not from DC either.

No, that's another Elseworld. Even I couldn't pull off a DC/Marvel/PR Elseworld.

It's a PR character that's the villain in "The Ranger War".

I dunno... Silver Surfer and Kyle Rayner teaming up with Andros and Zhane would be pretty sweet...

Sorry about the pause, I've been doing some research (a.k.a. some serious TPB reading) and I'll be back with more soon. I'm trying to get Parallax's delivery down.

Research is good. Keep at it -- it'll only make things better, and we'll still be here when you finish up. =)
