I think the whole server is also being updated so it won't happen again.

Did your isp upgrade PHP? Were you using a PHP script backend ? There was recently an announced security risk with PHP. Did you have open/anon FTP open on your server? I see its unix so not too bad.

it seems the site is back up now, sweet. now i just have to add some of the last updates again, but won't take to long.

Ok, so I guess everything is set now, and the server was upgraded. And I believe that someone did not have full access to the site, He just found some type of vulnerable spot with the server.
