Witchcraft (The Old Religion, The Craft of the Wise) is the practice of the native religion of Europe after the advent of Christianity. A Witch is any individual, of either gender, who practices Witchcraft. The word Witch has a deep and rich history. It means "wise, good people". The term is derived from the Old English wicce (pronounced wick-kay) meaning "woman" and wicca meaning "wise" - both come from the Old Saxon term wic meaning "to bend or flex". Wicce is a female Witch. Wicca (pronounced wick-kah) is a male Witch. It is an insult to call a male Witch a warlock for this Scottish-Gaelic term waerloga means "a liar, oath breaker, backstabber".

Wicca is an alternative name for Modern Witchcraft. It has spiritual roots in Shamanism. The Goddess and the Horned God (her consort) are the two main deities honored and worshipped in rites. Wicca evolved in the 1940s.

Witchcraft is also a nature based religion that is recognized by the United States and Canada. Wicca is granted all religious rites under the United States Constitution. Witchcraft is a legally recognized religion since 1985 and is the practice of the native religion of Europe after the advent of Christianity. Witchcraft teaches that one should follow their heart and take responsibility for their actions.

It takes great dedication and concentration to become a Witch. It takes skill and talent to practice advance spellcasting (the color of magick varies from spell to spell). Witchcraft is based on love, kindness, and harmony. Wiccans do not campaign against other religious customs. They encourage free thought, artistic creativity, individuality, and personal, spiritual, and psychic growth.

Wicca is a nature (not a Christian) religion based upon what are believed to be the practices of ancient religions, espeically Celtic Tradition (somewhat borrows from the Druids - Wicca and Druidry are the two main Pagan religions of Britain (now mixing). Traditional British Wicca focuses on the act of union. Witchcraft is based in Traditions.

It is a religion based upon deep personal understanding of oneself and the multiverse in which one resides. Wiccans worship old Celtic pre-Christian Goddesses and Gods and their relationship to the Earth and Nature. It is an alternative religion based on the love of nature.

It is the name of a contemporary Neo-Pagan ("new Pagan" from Latin paganus meaning "country dweller") religion. Neo-Paganism is a contemporary and eclectic movement aimed at reviving pre-Christian nature religions, Goddess-worship, and mystery tradition by infusing them with modern concepts.

The term Paganism was used, in contemporary times, to refer to nature oriented religions that recognize the male and female duality found in nature.

Wicca is a more woman-positive and Earth-based religion. It allows women full participation in the practice (like most Celtic religions). There is friendliness towards women and a naturalistic view of sex (sexuality is regarded as a gift of the Goddess and God). They celebrate the sexual polarity of nature (fertilizing rain - male principle, nurturing Earth - female principle). Women are equals and sometimes of a slightly higher rank, than males. Most Wiccans have college degrees and they promote education.

Wiccan believe in reincarnation (repeated birth of the same soul in different physical bodies). It is an ancient and mystical belief that is part of many religions. Reincarnation is commonly associated with the concept of spiritual evolution. Wiccans do not believe in a torturous hell-like environment. Some Pagans, especially Witches, trust in the Summerlands (a peaceful, enjoyable place of rest where they can recover from their past life, be helped to asess it, and prepare to be reborn).

It is not related to Satanism and they do not perform blood sacrifices. They offer incense, cake, and wine/fruit juices to members during services (drugs and alcohol are not part of the Craft, but wine is used during/after rituals for grounding ceremonies). Wicca's rituals are based on the four seasons (solstices and equinoxes). Members are free to review different belief systems (Celtic, Norse, Essene, Gnosis, Shamanism) and blend together points right for their personal path. Their belief system is based on living in harmony with all things that exist (Earth, trees, rivers, lakes, oceans, air, people - regard to race, color, religion, personal orientation). Wicca is a highly individualistic religion and members do not proselytize (believe that if you are called to it, you will come). They neither recruit nor condemn other beliefs.

Wicca includes the practice of various forms of white magick (positive magick/true magick - love spells, healing rituals, luck-attracting amulets). Its rituals are based on the four seasons (solstices and equinoxes).

Three Main Principles

Golden Rule - "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you" This Complements the 3-Fold law and is very basic.

Wiccan Rede - "Do what you will as long as it harms no one" - Feel free to do whatever you want, as long as it does not harm themselves or anyone else. And yes even Voodoo can not be used to hurt people.

Three-Fold Law - Whatever we do (good or bad) will return to us, three times as strong
