If anyone is looking for Kamen Rider 555: Paradise Lost as a Fansub, head on over to: irc.irchighway.net and join the channel #TV-Mainframe.

These guys don't have a BT Page yet, but the 703MB Fansub of the Kamen Rider 555 Movie is very nicely done. It's in a 4:3 Widescreen like TV-Nihon's TimeRanger Episode 1 and has Yellow subtitles instead of the standard white, more like an Anime DVD.

If your a Kamen Rider fan, check this IRC Channel out, they also have some RAW Sentai shows up. Including OhRanger and some DaiRanger in LOW-Quality.

......703 Mb?!?!??!
From what I understand there are several reasons for this.

1. Kamen Rider Faizu Paradise Lost is a Movie with a run-time of 90 Minutes or so, that's about the size of 3 Episodes that are normallly 200MB-220MB -- so you figure the file is going to hit the 650MB+ Range off the bat.

2. The codec is XviD, (So says G-Spot) with a bitrate slightly over 1000kBPS -- lower than a VCD for compression, with about 192kBps MP3 Audio. This still doesn't account for the large filesize though.

3. The guy who encoded it has a "slow as dirt" Celeron CPU and it took him 7-8 hours to do ONE PASS. Since said machine doubles as his FServ, the Sub was only given One Pass with an attempt to "fake" a two-pass quality. This lead to a higher filesize but all in all it's worth it. I was a bit irked at the size at first as well, but these subs are well worth it! They're done in a very legible font, the filesize for the movie is an anomoly though, a pulled Ju-On subbed (Pulled due to the fact Lions Gate released Ju-On I) was originally about 250-300MB with more time spent on the compression of the file.

4. Don't ask when but there was talk of possibly redoing the sub with a smaller filesize. This however would be AFTER a DVD-Image file of the sub was done, the DVD Image file would be formatted to fit on a TV and yes, it'd be about 4GB -- maybe less.

Is 703Mb a bit large? Yes, but I saw why the encoder had to cut corners on compression and in truth, it's not that bad and if you're saving it, a good 700MB CD-R Should still be able to handle it. The file is high quality no watermarking and OAR as well, I may talk to the person who encoded it and see what can be done to make it slightly smaller, however when I last inquired about the filesize he replied he could lower it but the quality would take a severe hit, so he left it at 703MB. After waiting 7 or 8 hours, I can't blame him.
