I'm creating a spoof of Power Rangers mixed with Emo Rock called "Mighty Moshin Emo Rangers".

For those who arent familiar with the teen angst heart bleeding screams and monotone straight laced fashions of Emo Rock check here (http://www.fourfa.com/) and here (http://www.dobi.nu/emo/) . Heck there's even an Emo game (www.emogame.com) ... but there's never been an "Emo Rangers" and that's why I intend to create one.

For those doubting my technical skills in doing this... observe here (http://www.mrchrisphillips.com/crash.wmv) for the Emo look, and here (http://www.mrchrisphillips.com/matrix.wmv) and here (http://www.mrchrisphillips.com/samurai.wmv) for the kick ass fighting. I've had the odd couple of music videos on MTV2, and had some comedy shorts on E4 (uk sat channel) and I've always wanted to make a power rangers episode.

Finally the website where you can download a preview Emo Ranger wallpaper (http://www.notleybomb.com/wallpaper.gif) featuring the Mega Emo Zord is here. (http://www.notleybomb.com) The website needs some work, should have a better one up next week.

Now I have an appeal. The budget is next to nothing, and I need some Emo Ranger costumes. If anyone out there wants to help, that would be great. (Preferably in the UK) But what I also need are clever suggestions for the Emo Ranger costumes, monsters and weapons.

Fire away :)

Cheers

ewwww.... Don't do that to my emo people. I'm a power ranger fan like everyone else. I don't really belong to the "emo" scene.. but I sing for a Post hardcore band which is derived from the whole "emo" scene. Although you've got a lil bit of it wrong.. most emo bands have no screaming, and its really mellow music. However.. post hardcore, and hardcore which all these forms of music are derived from punk.. do have tons of screaming. Hence my band called Nor Am I... you can check us out at http://www.myspace.com/norami and sometimes you will see me dawned in my power rangers track jacket that is one of the only things I have ever bought at Hot Topic. The trendy thing now.. is to be scene. I've kinda created my own "look" rather than trying to copy. Our band doesn't really look as "scene" as what you see on MTV. But we did play on the VANS WARPED TOUR, this past year. We got a cd out now in stores. Just thought I would never see the 2 things I relate to brought together. lol...

power rangers in all earthtone colors? with sweaters and black hair and horned rimmed glasses?

by the way.. I didn't watch those videos.. but I'm gonna assume that the fighting is probably what is referred to as "hardcore dancing" which has nothing to do with emo. Hardcore and emo are kinda hand in hand.. but alas emo kids do not hardcore dance, and hardcore kids do not go to emo shows.

Just thought I'd clarify

What xbluerangerx said. Yes. I've got emo all wrong. From your point of view I agree.

Where I come from there arent "hardcore" kids and "emo" kids. That's because there is like one gig a month and that's the only one in like 50 miles. So the hardcore kids, emo kids, punks, rockers, mods, grungers of every sexual orientation and race come together at one place in Chelmsford, Essex. This episode is for them.

It's a general comedy about teenagers. It's what power rangers was getting at in the first episode.
Zordon: "Teleport to me five overbearing, over emotional humans"
Alpha 5: "No not that! Not.... TEENAGERS!!!"

Sorry if I'm watering down the term "emo" to mean a hormonal, self-centered, emotional teenager. It's meant to be a bit funny. Hope no one takes it too seriously.

The videos are NOT some emo kids doing silly kicks in a moshing fashion. It's a bullet-time style special fx sequence ;) (http://www.notleybomb.com/testkick.wmv)

Right I'm off to listen to your band on myspace! :)

p.s. all the emo kids are on myspace. thats a fact ;)

Hey Blue Ranger. Respect, I like your band! :023:

I'm compiling "emo" songs for the episode... any chance I could use that "Breathing in Rhythm" song for a kick ass fight scene?:eusa_clap

>> Nor Am I << These guys are cool! :) (http://www.myspace.com/norami)

An Emo Ranger Soundtrack! Now THAT'S an idea :D

More progress on the helmets over here (http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=49002) Do you reckon people would pay for cheap paper mache helmets if they were durable and well made? ha ha ha.

yo dude.. yeah dude use that song.. that would be awesome. We played a show in fl this sat, and I had tons of kids asking about my mmpr jacket. some told me I should wear a power ranger costume on stage. That was awesome.. scene kids like mmpr too!!
