Power Rangers: Sentinals of Humanity:
The Sentinels:
David Powers - Crimson Sentinel - Roc (Raptor Staff)
Micheal Powers - Bronze Sentinel - Gryphon (Wing Sabers)
Nathan Wilborn - Nova Sentinel - Phoenix (Pyro Lance)

David and Mike are fraternal twins. As typical with twins, they tend to hang out together wherever they go. One exception is afterschool. Mike is in the High School Wrestling Team. Dave usually practices martial arts in another area of the gym, or meditates. They are both highly confident and adept at standing up for themselves. Dave tends to have a more natural sense of leadership, but Mike could assume the role sufficiently. Dave's built is medium but athletic, and stands 5' 10" His hair is a light brown, and complexion fair. Mike's is slightly more built, and he is 6'. His hair is darker colored, and he has an action star complexion. Both have hazel colored eyes.

Nathan is more academic, where the Powers Brothers are athletic. He has a high interest in technology, which seems to rub off a bit on Dave. He can program rather efficiently, and if he wanted to, could probably get into any system made. During his free period at school, he is usually found in the computer lab, where he works on his own OS system (Will-Star), or writing a game, or application crack. He stands at 5' 8" and has a light build. His hair is blonde, and his eyes blue. Despite his interests, he doesn't come off so badly as a computer nerd, but rather a charismatic young man who happens to be great with technological skills.

The Uncles:
James Vandermere - Nate's Uncle. Tech Genius and Relic Hunter
Wayne Powers - Mike and Dave's Uncle. Retired Military Special Ops and friend of James Vandermere.

Not a whole lot is known about the past these two share, but they currently work on a classified project at the Vandermere Research Center, which is what has brought Wayne, and his two nephews to Grovers Corners, NH. They were formerly residing in Washington, DC, where Wayne was a military special op, and part of a paranormal investigation team (not X-Files :p). Wayne stands 6' 2", with a rock solid physique, and crew cut black hair. He trained his nephews well in the art of hand to hand combat, and also instilled in them a great deal of discipline.

James Vandmere has always excelled at two things: Technological Research, and Relic Hunting. He and his nephew, Nathan, travelled the world finding historical artifacts, while at the same time holding a competetive market in computers and technology. James has even done projects for the US Government and Military (which is possibly where he and Wayne have a past). Recently incidents in Grovers Corners have interested him, so he moved there, and purchased what is now his research center, on Oak Hill, which overlooks Grovers Corners.

Some of it's members even exist within Grovers Corners High School. A group of teenagers is about to discover the truth about these aliens, and after attaining superhuman powers, they may be humanity's only hope against an eventual assimilation.

This is my first fanfic, and I haven't wrote in quite awhile so bear with me:
Power Rangers: Sentinels of Humanity:
The story unfolds in an area known as Grovers Corners. It is a smalltown area in NH, a quiet place where life is somewhat simple, yet modern. It is a sociable community where locals know each other, and crime is reletively tame...the perfect place to hide an underground evil.

PROLOGUE: (4 years ago)
It was a clear twilight evening on Sunset Lake, and the surrounding forest. Dusk had just settled in, and two campers, a father and his son, were picking up from a fun afternoon of fishing. They had to get back to their campsite to start a fire, and settle down for nightfall. As they were just finishing, and getting ready to head back, the son spotted something and pointed.

"Dad, is that a meteor?"

The father looked at the fiery object falling at a rather decent rate. It crashed in the distance about a few miles beyond the lake, in a nearby bog.

"Hmm...probably was a meteor, but it looked to be pretty good sized," speculated the father. "We'll ask the forest rangers about it in the morning. Maybe even get a chance to see the crash site."

The son smiled and nodded, and then they both headed back to their campsite. The father was glad that his job allowed summertime vacation, so that he could spend it with his son. The boy had just graduated Junior High, and would be a freshman the next schoolyear. This meant they would see more of each other than before over the semesters.

They arrived back at the camp moments later, and the son was already getting the campfire going. They cleaned the fish, and packed it into the cooler. Then roasted a few marshmallows before dousing the fire, and settling off to bed. There were noises out in the woods that would've creeped a person from the city, but to them they didn't seem out of the ordinary, so they settled down in the tent, and began to settle into peaceful slumber...or so they though.

*SNAP*

"Dad...What was that?" whispered the son.

They looked at the edge of the tent, where some wierd shapes were silhouetted against the canvas by the light of the moon. They were humoanid shapes, and yet nothing that could resemble a human at all. Neither could move, as they were frozen in terror as they watched and listened to the invaders search around the campsite. Finally the tent flap was pulled back, and they both gasped as they saw one of the most frightening things they had ever seen peering in at them. It was the last thing they ever remembered...

Chapter 1: (Present Day)

*RRRRRRINGGGG!*

The eighth period bell rang, as the hallways began to swarm with busy students milling about to get to their next classes. Nathan sighed contently. It was the first day of school, and being a senior, he had a free period. He could sign out early and go home, being the last period of the schedule, but he had other plans. The computer lab awaited him.

He was a new student, having transferred from home school. He and his uncle James had travelled alot, so he couldn't attend any schools, but rather had a teacher/tutor that travelled with them. This always made him relate to the Episodes of Young Indiana Jones, as he had the same circumstances, and also the fact that his uncle was a relic hunter, and researcher of mythological lore.

They had moved to Grovers Corners to study a strange meteor crash at Child's Bog, which had happened four years ago. Rumors had gone around town of aliens having crash landed, and it all being a government cover up, but there was no real evidence of this.

One thing that he had noticed during his first day, is that some of the other students were giving had a dark presence about them, and were giving him funny looks, as if sizing him up. Some of his friends he had made at lunch told him they were some sort of wierd lizard worshipping cult, and while this tempted his lore in mythology, it also bothered him that maybe they were eyeballing him with intentions of making him a sacrifice or forced disciple.

He was about to get his answer as two figures entered the computer lab, and they happened to be the leaders of the 'cult' as they were considered. He had caught their names at the lunchtable discussion earlier. Nick Barlow, definite bully type, and ringleader of the 'lizard cult', not to mention the prinicpal's son. It struck Nate funny that he wasn't a jock, or prep type, as most teacher's and faculty's children ended up in that type of role. The other was Jessie Bosowski, right-hand to Nick, and while a punk, and a follower, he did his fair share of 'enforcing'.

They both approached Nathan with wry grins on their faces. He raised an eyebrow as he looked up from his program. He was improving his expirimental operating system.

Nick placed an elbow on the monitor, "What you got there geek? Making a new level to Pac Man?"

Nate replied, "If it were for you, I'd keep it that simple, but no, i'm making something far better then that."

Jessie just glared at Nate, after hearing the sharp comeback, but Nick held his hand up, as if to hold him off for the time being.

"Look, enough with the small talk. You have probably heard things about us. Some of them are true, and some are not, but that is not important. We know about your skills with computers, and more improtantly, network ummm 'navigation'. We propose an offer. Join our little group, and perhaps help us get into certain systems here and there. We'll look after you of course. What do you say?"

Nathan rolled his eyes, "I don't think illegal hacking was on my extra credit sheet. Forget it."

Nick shook his head and smiled, "Well the other option is that Jessie makes you sorry you didn't go with option one."

Jessie approached Nathan on that signal with the meanest glare one could ever express. Nathan ulped. This was going to be a lousy first day.

Chapter 2:

David and Micheal Powers arrived at their lockers. They were fraternal twins, and they too had transferred recently to this town and high school. Since lockers were assigned by name, it was a cinch for them to end up next to each other. They had just arrived from the cafeteria, and eighth period was just about over. They needed to prepare for afterschool activities. Mike had joined the wrestling team, and Dave decided to practice martial arts while waiting for his brother.

Just as they had their books stowed away, save for tonight's homework, they heard a commotion coming from the computer lab across the hall from them. They peered in the door window and saw two creeps picking on this one kid.

Dave hmmed, "Arn't those two the ringleaders in that rumored cult we heard about."

Mike nodded, "I think so. I wonder what they want with him.."

Dave scowled, "Does it matter? They're about to wipe the floor with him. Let us interact."

Mike grinned slyly as they discreetly entered the door. The two punks didn't seem to notice them.

That was about the time Nick had cut Jessie loose on Nate. He picked up Nate by the collar, and was about to deck him good, when Dave cleared his throat.

The two spun around to face them, Jessie having forgotten about Nate for the moment.

Dave smirked, "Well well, a bit on the defensive side hmm? What's wrong? Guilty Conscience?"

Nick frowned. He didn't like people ruining his fun. "And who invited you to nose in our business hmm?

Mike retorted, "When someone is getting picked on, we make it our business."

Nick was glaring now, "We were only giving the geek a hard time. Wanna make something of it."

Dave nodded as his expression shifted to cold and calculating, "You just said the magic words that I thought you'd never ask. Step up! Mike, you got the gorilla. I'll handle this one."

Mike nodded and faced off with Jessie. Being the taller brother, he was an even match for the brute. They both waited for Nick and Jessie to make their move. It was on!

Chapter 3:

Jessie took the first swing. Nick always let him have the initiative as he was the biggest of the two, but unfortunately for him, Mike was just as big. The larger Powers brother immediately hooked his arm, and got around him to place a few well aimed kidney punches, before getting him into an armlock.

Nick took a jab or two at Dave, which were both dodged percicely, as the martial artist broght up a knee drive in response, which clocked Nick square in the jaw, and knocked him back over a conveniently placed desk. When he got up and tried to take another swing, it was blocked, as a couple hooks and an uppercut knocked him back yet again...this time he was down for the count.

Meanwhile Mike had Jessie on his knees and begging to be released from the arm hold Mike had on him. He thought his elbow was gonna pop. That's when he felt something hit him in the right shoulder, right on the neck, which made him slump over half conscious.

Dave went over to check on Nate who had been untouched during the whole ordeal. He was a bit shook up, but happy to see Nick and Jessie's clocks get cleaned before his own eyes.

Just then the door opened, and the Principal stepped into the room. "What's going on here?" he demanded.

"Sir, these two threatened me. Then when my friends came on the scene, they attacked them too."

The Principal looked down at the two boys, "Well what do you have to say for yourselves?"

Nick looked up, a little dizzy, "It wasn't our fault. They were mouthin' off at us. We had to teach them a lesson."

"That's enough. I'll see you two in my office now! We don't condone this type of behavior in my school."

Nick and Jessie got up and marched toward the door. The Pricipal stopped Nick.

"I'm really dissapointed in you the most son. I thought i raised you better."

Nick looked at the floor as Principal Stanton Barlow shook his head at him, "Go on. We'll have a long talk about this, and count on detention."

Chapter 4

Mike, Dave, and Nate waited for the last bell, and in the process, were able to find out some interesting things about each other. Namely about Vandemere Reasearch, and how it was their uncles, Wayne Powers, and James Vandermere that were the reason they were even in this school, and town.

The center itself had it's own residential complex, privy to employees only, and since it was maybe a mile from the school, Dave decided to escort Nate back in case any of Nick Barlow's friends decided to cause any more trouble. Nick and Jessie of course weren't a problem, having earned detention for the week. Mike would catch up after wrestling practice.

The walk home wasn't very eventful. Most of the other students, lizard-culters or not, pretty much left them along, but as they got going along the forest trail that was a shortcut, they had the feeling like someone was watching them from a distence...or something.

It was when they were barely into the forest that they both got the biggest surprise of their life, as a lizard-like creature stepped out onto the trail and leered at them. In no time some other lizardmen appeared seemingly from the trees, and they were for the most part surrounded. Dave couldn't believe his eyes, but he fought to stay calm, and keep his fear in check, knowing panic would only work in the lizards' favor.

The lead lizard growled fiercely, "I am Krin, Warrior of the Drakken, and Servent of Lord Kriegen. You will surrender at once as our prisoner Nathan Wilborn."

Nate whoas, "You know my name? What do you want with me? I'm just a teenager."

Dave was already adding up two and two. The rumored cult. The strange occurence in Child's Bog, and now the blatent appearence. They wanted Nate to get to his uncle most likely. Totally not going to happen if he could help it. He got the surprise on the nearest lizard creature, and using a special throw technique, was able to create an escape for Nate.

"Nate, run back to the school and get my brother. Then call your Uncle right away. I'll keep these goons busy." Dave shouted, as he began to take on practically a whole gaggle of lizardmen.

Nate nodded and bolted. If it was one thing he was good at it was sprinting. Krin grimaced, and sharpely hissed at his troops, "Drakken Rooks. Get Wilborn now!" Try as they did, they were too preoccupied with Dave, and soon Nate was crossing the Athletic Field. Krin knew that they couldn't risk public appearence just yet. Not this early in the plan. He rumbled in annoyance, "Very well Powers, you saved your friend, but we have you now." He launched a W shaped device at him, which locked around his neck with a click, and then stunned him with a low voltage shock.

Dave grimaced and fell to the ground. The Rooks, as they were called (more than likely the rank of shock troops) had him restrained, and he was delivered back to their base. His last thought was how he liked lizards...until now at least. He knew this could be his last moment on Earth.

Chapter 5

Nate quickly ran to the gym, and tracked down Mike. Wrestling meet was just about over anyway for the day, so he didn't have to worry about disturbing the team. As the althletic teams were packing away and readying to take the late bus (or their cars) home, Nate commenced to explain the whole situation, which left him a bit pale. His concern was mainly for his brother whom didn't look like he was returning anytime soon. They both went to the payphone, and quicky called the Research Center.

"Hello you have reached Vandermere Research? Extention please." the operator asked.

"This is Nathan Wilborn, I need to talk to my Uncle James, now. This is a Code Red situation."

"Of course...hold for one second please..."

Suddenly the line picked up, "Nathan! This is James. What is the situation? The operator said it was Code Red."

"Yeah. David Powers and I were attacked by lizard creatures on the way home. I think they got him, but they were trying to get to me."

There was a short pause, "I was afraid this might happen. Are you with Mike? Wait outside with him, and do not leave the premises. Wayne will be on the way to pick you both up."

"Okay Uncle James. We will be right outside the gym.

He hung up the payphone and told Mike of the plan. They grabbed their bags, and exited the gym to await Mike's uncle. It turned out there was a group waiting for them. A group of more Drakken. This one was lead by two, one really large one, and an older one.

"Well well you escaped my son Krin, but let's see you slip through my talons. Sseij! Rooks! Capture them!"

The large lizardman that must be Sseij, and the others closed in on Mike and Nate, leaving them nowhere to run.

Chapter 6

The Drakken Rooks, led by Sseij, were closing in fast. Nobody really noticed the Hum-V screech into the parking lot, aside from perhaps the elder Drakken, whom spun around, surprised. "Who is this fool."

What emerged from the driver's side was a sight to bring a tremble to even Sseij. Wayne Powers stood at full 6' 2" height and approached the lizards. "Got a problem with my nephew and his friend?"

The elder Drakken blinked, and then commanded, "Rooks! Attack!"

The former Speacial Ops agent just smiled, and acted perfectly calm, not even taking a stance. When the first Drak was upon him, he suddenly began a flurry of lightning fast attacks, only a special forces member could execute. The others closed in, attempting strength in numbers, but all that did was bring his level of tact up in the hand to hand combat area. Even Mike began attacking some of them, giving his uncle a hand. Soon they were in an exhausted heap, and were teleported away.

Sseij then growled fiercely, and bowled Mike over. Wayne tried a perfect body slam, but it barely knocked the large lizard back even an inch. He knew it was time to bring out the big guns. He quickly tossed a couple wristbands to Nate and Mike. "No time to explain. These are your Sentinelizers. Hold them up and call into them, 'Sentinel Strike! Armor up!'.

Mike and Nate did as they were instructed, and suddenly they were both bathed in glows of energy. Mike was surrounded in a bronze aura, as a bronze costume, with black legs and lower arms materialized onto his body, followed by armor pieces, bracers, leggins and a gold belt. He grabbed his helmet out of midair, and placed it on his head, while shouting "Bronze Gryphon Sentinel!" The Gryphon image appeared behind him as he posed. Nate's aura was fiery red, and he too was first covered in a flame and black outfit, and armor pieces, along with a fiery red helmet, "Nova Phoenix Sentinel!"

Uncle Wayne meanwhile, had utelized his own wristband, but did not become a Sentinel. "Battalizer online!" Armor-like riot gear appeared on his body, modeled to look like camoflage combat armor. He took the initiative on Sseij, and landed a few good blows, before being bowled over with a tail-slap.

Mike and Nathan took their cue, and engaged the angry lizardman. They began fighting well as a coordinated team. Nathan only knew the basic karate his uncle had enrolled him in, but it seemed to be enough, combined with Mike's skills evening the balance. Sseij growled loudly and drew his gigantic battle axe.

Wayne quickly advised, "Sentinels! Draw your own unique weapons to defend yourselves!"

Mike found he had Wing Sabers, while Nathan drew the Pyro Lance. They parried Sseij's attacks, and dodged his attempted chops with the axe.

"You can't combine the weapons without Dave, but try using their special powers together." Wayne said, while engaging the elder Drakken in battle.

They both cosidered, and then tried Wayne's advice. "Pyro Blast!" Wing Slash!" Mike threw his sabers boomarang style, while Nate unleashed a blast of flame, engulfing the sabers. One cut through the axehandle, and the other struck Sseij in the chestplate armor, seriously incapacitating him.

"You win this day Sentinels, but you will pay dearly for this! So swears Baron Sstatnor!"

Sstatnor, and Sseij both teleported away, leaving the three to power down, and face the sad ride home, while comtemplating one thing. What became of Dave, and would they be able to save him?

Chapter 7

Dave awoke in a strange room. He looked around and tried to regain his bearings and remember what happened. Last thing he remembered was the shock collar knocking him out, and then being dragged back to the swamp, to some sort of subterrainian lair. That was the last thing he could recollect before everything had gone completely dark. Now he found himself in a space-age room, on a sickbed. As he stirred, a lizardman wearing a labcoat and medical looking uniform noticed, and walked over to him.

"Ah, I see you are with us again. How do you feel earthling?"

Dave stood up and took on a defensive posture, "Step up and find out you scaled freak. What do you wierdos want with me anyway? Don't you have your cult to worship you."

The lizard chuckles at that statement, "Cult? You don't know the half of it do you. They arn't a cult. They are assimilated that we have already processed. Their human shells are mere disguises. You are now technically one of them, I'm afraid."

Dave blinked, "Say what? You mean i've been?"

The doctor nodded, "Yes and now i shall activate it." He pushed a button on a strange remote, as Dave felt something wierd in the back of his neck. His skin began to itch, and sprout scales all over. His vision blurred and he screamed out in horror, as slowly he took on lizard features. As he looked over his scaly claws, and muzzle that jutted out of his new face, something washed over his mind. A feeling of loyalty to these strange lizards, of whom he has just joined. A feeling of loyalty. He shook the disoriented feeling off and then smiled.

"So now that I am one of you, what is the next stage?"

The doctor grinned and rubbed his talons together, "Now you escape and go back home boy."

*****

Meanwhile back at Vandemere Reasearch, and the Sentinels Headquarters, Wayne Powers paced around the 'War Room' while scans searched around for the missing Powers brother. Nate and Mike were pretty tense as well, as they could only wait while James and his technicians were trying to get a lock.

"He should be found soon. I had the foresight to give Wayne some special tracking chips in case of a situation like this. They are probably in your shoes. The only problem is the signal seems a bit fuzzy, but we should be able to lock in after a thorough satelite scan is in place." James said, trying to reassure.

Wayne passed a couple cell phone-like devices. "While your Sentinel Bands can function as comminucators, these satalite phones will look better in public. They work like cells, only with better signal and range. They also have two way communication frequencies. As long as you can see the sky, you can dial pretty much any number. Don't dial 900 numbers though ok?"

Mike grinned, and awww darned at the last part. Nate chuckled at this as they clipped them onto their belts.

One of the terminals began to beep. "Sir we have a lock." one of the technicians said, breaking the tension.

James looked at the screen. Looks like Dave was not a mile from the center, but caught in the rain. "I can't believe he slipped out of the Drakkens clutches. Let's go get him."

Wayne was already ahead of James, having the keys and heading to the Hum-V. They others followed suit, and soon they were tearing down the road, pulling up to the disheveled looking Dave.

"You alright? What did they do to you?" Mike asked, with much concern on his face.

Dave looked back, with a calm complacent look on his face. "They did nothing. I got the slip on them after Nate was in the clear. Let's get out of here before they try to jump us again."

Dave got into the Hum-V, and was granted a Sentinel Band, and Sat-Com of his own on the way back.

*****

Back at the Drakken Base, Baron Sstatnor watched on his viewscreen as Dave returned with the others, "Perfect. They have no idea he has been converted. He will be the downfall of Vandermere and his pathetic Sentinels. Mwahahahahahaha!"

Krin was watching as well, "Tomorrow we will strike, and when he turns on them, the looks on their faces will be priceless, eh father?"

Sstatnor patted his son on the shoulder, "That it will Krin, that it will."

Chapter 8

The next day was rather uneventful at school. Mike and Nate were relieved that they were able to recover Dave so easily from the grasp of the strange lizardmen. They all had their guard up for any strangeness, but everything was pretty much mundane. Perhaps th Drakken were not yet brazen enough to attack out in full public. In any event, even Nick and Jessie caused no trouble, but little known to Mike and Nate were the exchanged glances between cult members and Dave, as if speaking in their own silent code.

Their was no afterschool wrestling practice, so the three were planning on checking out a new hangout, namely Delgado's Sports Bar. Despite it's name it was not like your normal sports bar aimed for adults. There was a section for teens to hang out and play foosball, air hockey, and a fully functional arcade. There was an internet wi-fi area, and a big screen tv, as well as other tv's layed out about the place. Nate was impressed as he looked over the tech, and even though he was considered more of an active jock type, Dave was checkin it out too.

Just then a strange beep came over Dave's cell. He responded, "Yeah Uncle Wayne, what is it?"

"We're seeing some possible Drak activity near the town park."

"We're on it!" Dave responded.

The three ducked out and went to the park, and strangely enough found Nick, Jessie and friends there, rather than Drakken. Mike and Nate were a bit taken aback, but nothing prepared them for Dave walking up to them casually, and shaking hands homeboy style with Nick, and ask him, "What's up?"

Mike blinked, "Did I miss something Dave? When did you become friends with these punks? And what about what we came here for?"

Dave turned around with a smug look on his face, "Guess I've joined up with the right team huh bro? As for what we came here for, you're looking at him." He exposed his morpher, which was nothing like the crimson band he was given by his uncle. This one was green, and looked like a coiled snake. He raised it and sneered, "How do you say it? Sentinel Strike! Armor Up! HA!" His body became bathed in a green glow, as a uniform and respective armor appeared on him, making him look more menacing than heroic. "Jade Serpent Sentinel!"

Nick, Jessie, and the others shifted in an eyeblink, and suddenly Krin, Sseij, and Drakken Rooks stood behind the Jade Sentinel. Mike and Nate recoiled in shock and complete disbelief. Mike was the first to snap out of it.

"C'mon Nate, we have to morph and take them on, even if Dave is amongst them. Sentinel Strike! Power Up! HA!"

Mike and Nate morphed into their respective Gryphon and Phoenix Sentinel forms.

"You handle the Rooks, I got Dave."

Nathan engaged the Rooks and began dispatching them only as he could, while Mike drew his Wing Cutters and took on his brother, whom himself drew his Serpent Sword.

"You two don't stand a chance against the Drakken Empire. Especially one goody goody short, which ISN'T me." Dave sneered.

They clashed Saber to Sword, in classic swordplay, each striking at and parrying the other with equal precision. Nate meanwhile mopped the floor with the shock troops known as the Rooks. He was about to assist Mike, when Krin came out of nowhere, and body slammed him to the ground, landing him at the feet of Sseij. Sseij raised his axe high above his head, and just as he was about to bring it down on the stunned Nate, something out of nowhere tackled the lizard, knocking him over to the ground.

Nate quickly got up and assumed a defensive stance, as Krin was still on the move, so the two of them began to battle one-on-one.

Sseij rose up from the ground to meet his assailant. He was surprised to find a normal looking human facing him. Chris Delgado, the owner of the bar, had seen the Nova Sentinel in trouble, and decided to help out. Though he was beginning to doubt his match against the larger lizardcreature.

"You will regret the day you were born human." Sseij grinned, as he backed the human into a nearby alley.

Meanwhile back with Dave and Mike, Dave was getting wary of fighting to a standstill. "That's it. Let's take this fight to the next level. SerpentZord I summon you!"

Out of the sky came a green flash, as the SerpentZord swam through the air toward the park skyline. Dave leaped up and merged into his Zord, and loomed over the others ominously. "What's wrong brother. Didn't Uncle Wayne give you any zords yet, or is this gonna be easier than i thought?"

Chapter 9

Mike and Nate looked up in disbelief and awe, as they gaped at the SerpentZord. "We don't stand a chance without our own zords to fight him." Mike said with disdain.

Nathan spoke into his band, "Uncle James. Some backup would be nice. Dave is about to kick our butts, and win one for the visiting team"

A voice crackled over the com, "I'm seeing it, but not believing it. I had a suspicion that he was captured and corrupted while he was missing. We would have found his signal otherwise. I'm mobilizing the mythozords now, but the Roc will have to stay docked, since Dave is not among us to pilot it. This means no megazord, so make it count."

From the near horizon two creatures soared above the treeline toward them. Nate and Mike quickly and merged into their respective zords, "PhoenixZord Online!" "GryphonZord online!"

Dave laughed at them, "Do you honestly think even with the two of you, that you can defeat me?" He charged the Serpentzord against the Gryphon wanting first strike. Mike was caught off guard at the swiftness of the attack, so it was easy to coil around the zord and constrict it, with an electric squeeze. Sparks flew in the cockpit around Mike, as systems went haywire.

Just as Dave was getting smug, he was assaulted by plumes of flame, "Burning Quill Flares!" Nate had launched some fiery feathers at the Serpent, but Dave had it under control, "Venom Blast!" he shouted smugly, as the Serpent opened it's mouth, and shot a trail of venom all over the Phoenix, grounding it.

Mike meanwhile tries some claw attacks, to barely any success. Dave was winning this one, and there was nothing that they could do about it. He couldn't believe his own brother could betray them like this. The more he thought about it, the more angry it made him inside. He felt energy well up inside of him, and also seemingly through his zord. It felt as if they were both expiriencing an enegry surge. He took advantage, "Gryphon Razor Wing!" The wings cut across the Serpentzord, freeing the Gryphon from it's tight squeeze.

Mike took evasive, and then regrouped with Nate. "The only way we stand a chance is to use our powers together, like we did when we fought Sseij." Nate noddedin agreement, "Let's do it then!" The gryphon's wings folded up onto it's back as the phoenix alighted, perching on the gryph's shoulders.

Meanwhile Dave was doing some regrouping of his own. He had one last surprise for his adversaries, "SerpentZord Warrior Mode, Engage!" The Serpentzord crackled with a strange green energy as it shifted into a more bipedal stance, and taking on arms and legs, that emerge from their respective compartments. The tailtip dislodged and became a battle staff as it strikes a fear inducing pose.

Mike and Nate blinked at their new problem. Mike's jaw tightened, as his determination took control, "We only have one shot at this Nate!. Combined attack now!"

"PyroWing Cutters!"

The wings of the Gryphon fired out at the SerpentWarrior as the PhoenixZord engulfed them in a napalm-esque glow. The wings impacted the Warrior causing sparks and damage all over the board. Dave looked down at his control console and cursed under his breath (and helmet). He knew he had to withdraw, and live to fight again. "You win this time brother, but this isn't over by a longshot!" The SerpentZord returned to Serpent Mode and flew off in retreat.

Mike sighed. He didn't want to battle his own brother, much less lose him to the enemy. He and Nate powered down, and disembarked their zords, which went back to headquarters. Mike nearly doubled over from the stress that was wracking his mind.

"I can't believe it! Dave is under Drakken control! We've always watched each other's backs...Sstatnor will pay for this!" Mike said through gritted teeth. A tear rolled down his face, as the emtional pain stung like salt on a fresh wound.

Nate could see that Mike needed to cool off, and also needed a friend. "C'mon. We're not going to help Dave by falling apart. Let's head back to the sports bar and think up a plan."

Mike nodded, and as they were about to go he stopped for a moment, "Wasn't Mr. Delgado with us during the fight?"

Nate's eyes widened, "I last remember him being backed down that alley by Sseij. We better go see if he's okay." They ran down the alley, but were stopped at a dead end. There was nowhere else the two of them could have gone, unless they teleported. They both knew what this meant. Dave wasn't the only loss of today's battle at all.
