I've decided to go ahead and add all of my stories here instead of making a new thread for each. It's a collection of one shots surrouding the various characters in Dino Thunder. Enjoy.

Note: I'm uploading these as the stories come to my head so they're not in any certain order. From now on, this thread will be officially known as 'PRDT: Reefside Collection'. Don't mind the current title.:)

~

Fiction Type: One Shot
Summary: Trent's joined the team but a welcoming committee doesn't come with the membership.
Timeline: Takes place just after 'Copy That'

"Here," the young brunet said as he tossed the rag to his shorter companion, not bothering to notice if he caught the cleaning object or not. He reached for the empty bucket on the nearby table and handed it to him as well, unaware of the puzzled look of the boy. If he bothered to care, it didn't show.

He stared down at the objects that he'd collected, as if their purpose was oblivious to him. "What's this for?" Trent questioned, clutching the materials in one hand. His eyes shot to the girl perched in the chair, receiving nothing but an apologetic look combine with a half smile. She shrugged, one that only told him 'sorry'. Their eyes locked for a moment, Trent finding a sliver of comfort in her presence, before he returned his attention to his new albeit reluctant teammate.

"You're gonna wash the zords. That's what -that- is for," Conner spoke with a hint of sarcasm. It was now that Conner caught the gleam of remorse in the eyes of his former adversary. The same innocent look that had fooled them all before, that had put them through so much. Conner had vowed that he wouldn't be fooled by him again. He was determined to keep a watchful eye over Trent to make sure that didn't happen.

"You're the last person who should be complaining about fairness," Ethan spoke from his private space in the DinoBase. He'd managed to find a resting point and break away from his computer, lowering the cover of the lap-top. "You've stolen our zords, lied to us, beaten us within an inch of our lives and you complain about something as simple as washing? Are you sure that gem didn't fry your brain?"

It was evident that Trent wasn't welcomed with the most open of arms. Conner, along with Ethan, weren't happy with the revelation of him being the White Ranger, considering the trouble he had put them through. No one was excited about the news but Kira had been the only one who'd forgiven him, willing to give him another chance to redeem himself. That plan had all but succeeded; the guys weren't up for listening to reason.

Kira had yet to mumble a single word. She refused to get caught up in the quarrel between her friends. Aside for her music, they were all she had. It hurt to see them divided as was demonstrated before her, but contributing to the issue at hand would only hurt her even more.

As it was, this was a time she'd wish that Hayley or Dr. O had been around, the latter of which had gone on a special 'errand', claiming it'd benefit them in the future. Being caught in the middle wasn't something Kira was used to but for her sake (and theirs), she would have to be the voice of reason.

"Don't you think you're being a bit harsh, Conner?" She removed herself from the chair, strolling to look Conner square in the eyes. The look that Trent had worn moments ago had now found a place on Kira. "He's apologized; what more do you want?"

"I think washing our zords is a fitting punishment," Ethan piped from his computer. His fingers were rapidly tapping across the keyboard as he spoke. "Or you could go with the old 'eye for an eye' routine. Whatever works."

"Guys, I'm sorry but you have to believe me. I didn't mean for any of that to happen. If I could take it all back, I would in an instant," Trent pleaded with his 'friends'. "Maybe I shouldn't be here..."

"No, you belong with us," Kira halted Trent's comment. "You have just as much right to be here as we do." Kira looked at Conner, then Ethan. "We're all rangers. We should be fighting Mesogog; not each other."

"Nice after-school special there, Kira," Ethan replied from the laptop. "Conner's right. The guy..."

Conner interrupted his statement. "...the guy has to earn his right to be a ranger." Conner crossed his arms along his chest, as he slouched against the console. He'd grown a bit angered at Kira's protectiveness of Trent. "He has to earn his place on the team. It's as simple as that. Until he's done that..."

Whatever Conner was thinking had to be put on hold. The system's alarmed blared, signaling another monster attack on the city. The quartet of teens came to attention, readying themselves to prepare for the attack.

"Where are you going?" Conner noticed that Trent had included himself in their formation. "You're staying here. The less trouble you cause, the better."

"I want to help. At least let me do that," Trent bargained with Conner. "I want you to trust me."

Conner sighed, knowing he was going to pay for his decision later. He looked at his teammates, mainly Kira who nodded at Conner. "Come on." He looked on as the White Ranger eased into the group. Conner shook his head, smirking along the way.

"Dino Thunder, Power Up!"

The group of four headed off to battle, as a team, and as a group of friends to save the day.

I'm glad that you've enjoyed reading it. After spending a few months with a lack of inspiration, I've gotten back in the swing of things. ^^;;

There's more to come; be on the look-out. ^^

Title: 'Little No More'
Fiction Type: One Shot
Summary: Ethan questions his friendship with Conner and Kira, confiding in Hayley for some 'big sister' advice.
Timeline: Takes place after 'Bully for Ethan'

"How weird was that?"

Ethan kicked a nearby soccer ball, the black-and-white patched object rolling wildly in front of him. He checked behind him; the circle of on-lookers had grown smaller than it had moments ago. A few were ticked at the fact that no physical confrontation had taken place, others simply shrugged it off and went on to their normal routines. Ethan smiled at the fact. No bruises, no one calling him a wuss for backing out; he was content.

"If you're talking about your soccer skills, they could use some work," Conner had managed to say in between popping the ball from his ankle to his knee. It was evident that he was a competent soccer player, a trait he was proud to brag about. "Wait. What are you talking about?"

"He's talking about the situation with Derrick, Conner. You know? The whole 'fight' and all," Kira refreshed Conner's memory, a task that had to be completed numerous times. "I'm actually curious about the outcome." She wasn't the one to egg on a fight, but the thought of Ethan in one had intrigued her.

"You're not serious, are you?" Ethan looked on at Kira, a look of hurt in his eyes, his voice raising a bit. It was bad enough that she had referred to him as a 'little boy' earlier that day, but hearing her admit she wanted to witness the altercation between him and his bully had put the icing on the cake. "What is it? I'm not 'big' enough to defend myself? Everyone show pity for the computer geek."

"Ethan. That comment--" Kira had attempted to say, but was stopped by Ethan's glare.

"You don't have to explain. Your words explained it all," Ethan said, slinging his backpack over his shoulder as he walked off in anger.

~

Ethan stared at the computer monitor, the blank screen reflecting his mood back to him. For the time he had been there, he hadn't bothered to turn the machine on. He didn't feel the need to, which was a first. As much as it didn't register with him, it did with the owner who looked on from behind the counter. To say she was surprised was an understatement.

She walked over in his direction, a small compact package in her hand. Her faced turned into a small smile, hoping it would be enough to shake him out of his mood. When he'd entered the café, he skipped on the greetings, heading straight for the lone computer in the back. It was normal, so she didn't give it much thought. It wasn't until he moved for a good half hour that she began to worry.

"Ethan, I thought you might like this. It's the expansion pack for SNSW*," she said as she placed the pack next to him. He didn't move, save for his fingers that were tracing the outline of the keyboard. He looked down at the box but went back to his finger tracing.

"Not today, Hayley. I'm not in the mood but thanks anyway," he said with a sigh followed by a casual shrug. He seemed more intrigued with the keyboard than with the news that was just given. Without warning, he turned to look at Hayley. "Have you ever had someone not believe in you? Like you weren't capable of doing anything."

"What's going on?" Hayley had asked but she knew enough about not being taken seriously. She dealt with the issue growing up and although it was rare now, it still happened from time to time. "Have something you want to talk about?" She took a seat next to Ethan.

Ethan thought for a moment, hesitating. He decided against it, figuring it was better to discuss it with Hayley while he had the chance.

"In case you haven't heard, I was supposed to fight someone today. A bully; his name's Derrick," Ethan started. He stopped, noticing the smile that had spread across Hayley's funny. "What's up?"

Hayley shook her head, fiery red hair swaying along with the movement. "It's nothing. I just had a flashback to my high school days," she started. "Let me guess. Derrick's either a jock, popular, or both."

"Both. How'd you know?" Ethan questioned, somehow forgetting that she too had been a teenager once.

"I've been there," she smiled, sympathizing with the young ranger. "You have to replace the popular jock with a popular cheerleader in my case." Her fingers tapped the package. "What's this about someone not believing you?"

"It's Conner...and Kira." He bit his lip nervously, shocked that his own friends would say such a thing. "For some reason, they didn't think I'd be able to hold my own against Derrick. They assumed I would get butt kicked." He laughed. "I would expect that from Conner but not Kira."

Hayley checked back to the counter for any customers but saw that her hired help had a handle on things. "I know what it's like. My parents didn't approve of me opening the Cybercafe. 'Your brains shouldn't be wasted on things of 'little value'' were their exact words." She laughed as Ethan had before. "They said it would fall flat within six months. It's now three years later and look who's getting the last laugh."

Ethan beamed a smile. "I think you've done a great job with the place. But that doesn't solve my problem with the other two."

It was a weird fact. If it hadn't been for finding the Dino Gems or for the three of them ending up in detention on that fateful, Ethan wouldn't have worried so much about the comments. He was used to it growing up. Now that they were friends (at least for the most part), their words meant everything to him.

"You just have to talk to them. Let them know how you feel. The three of you share a bond that can't be broken," she said, patting him on the shoulder. "I suggest you do it over a smoothie or two."

"Wha...? A smoothie?" Ethan turned around, greeted by two familiar faces. He had half a mind to get up and leave but their faces were too sincere to pass up.

"Yeah, a smoothie. There's no better way to make up with a good friend," Kira smiled, holding the cup in front of her. "Care to accept our apology?"

Conner stared at the ground. "Yeah, what she said." You couldn't blame him; it was a guy thing.

Ethan moved his things to make room for them, smiling all the way. "That depends on how good the smoothie is." The others seated themselves as they began to talk, secluded in their own little world that was locked by a bond that couldn't be broken.

As usual, excellently written, with perfect characterizations! You clearly have a very good mind for detail, and I once again can't wait to read more. Well done!:eusa_clap

Fanfiction One: Short but good. I like it how Connor accepted him as a teamate, but at the same time thought that Trent still had to make up for his sins...

Fanfiction Two: Ethan was bit moody but besides that it was good. :023:
