What would you think if a villain died by having a ranger jam their morpher in the villain's right eye and self-destructed it? Would that be an awesome fanfic death scene or what?
What other fanfic deaths do you think just...kick ass?
I had my Blue ranger kill my Black ranger in cold blooded murder because of a long lasting rivalry...and some help from the hate spell. Does that count as kick-ass?
Of other fanfics?.....Tommy's death in "Prelude"....Billy's death in "Machine War"

Or even better, Put justin in a very confined space and force him to morph. Once he grows larger in the morphing sequence, he will be instantly crushed. :) Shift into turbo!

That scene doesn't sound kickass at all. Actually, it sounds rather lame. Since when do morphers self-destruct anyways?
I haven't read enough fanfics to find any good death scenes, but if people on PR would just stay dead, some of their deaths would have been okay. Of the people who did stay dead, I would have to say Villamax's death was very good--dramatic and touching. A death can be a powerful plot device if done correctly. It doesn't have to be all show to be good--it just needs to have MEANING.

HAHA! Yes! Bring it on!
Yeah but how? ;)
He ripped off Black's wrist morpher with his sword (or was it his lance....?), making Black demorph. Then he stabbed him in the chest.

Fanfics. Fanfics are different. In my fanfic, her morpher could self-destruct.

This is my first half assed fanfic so don't expect much.
Tommy and Trent are the only left on the battlefield after a huge intergalactic battle. The sky is black, behind them, a lake of blood.
Trent: I will have the the black dino thunder power to achieve my maximum potential.
Tommy:Aww, Man....Lets get this over with newb.
Trent: Bring it.
They begin to battle, tommy highkicks trents morpher off of his wrist into the lake behind them.
Trent:No! ARG!
Trent then jumps into the air and kicking tommy to the ground while grabbing the brachio morpher from his wrist.
Tommy:......
Trent:Nothing to say Dr. Oliver? Ha ha ha.
Trent puts on the brachio morpher.
Tommy turns around, his back to trent
Trent:But I want to see the look on your face while I watch you die...
Trent begins to bring the morpher up to his face ready to morph
Trent: Dino thunder, power up......
Tommy busts out his brachio key, quickly whips it blindly behind him, silently piercing through trent's jugular vein, entering the morpher's key hole on the other side of his neck.
Tommy: HA!
Trent falls to the ground with the key in the slot, snapping his wrists, turning the key with the weight of his body causing him to morph into the black dino thunder ranger while he slowly bleeds to death causing the suit to explode.
Tommy: Game over, newb.

Joel clambered into his Aero Rescue Zord and fumbled with the controls, he looked round the cock-pit pressing various buttons, the Zord roared to life and he nodded clutching his side, he looked down and saw blood was beginning to leak through his suit.
Carter struggled to keep the Lifeforce Megazord on its feet as the demon pummeled its mid-section with huge fists, he thrust a control stick forward causing the zord's fists to shoot out, the demon watched as the small fists merely bounced off of its huge form.
Carter shook his head horrifyed by what he saw "No way, nothing is working"
The demon laughed as it slashed its claws vertically striking the zord down to the ground, Carter fell forward hitting his head on the control panel, sparks flew around the confined space as the red ranger struggled to to keep the zord together.
The demon watched as the Lifeforce Megazord fell to the ground with almighty rumble, it reached down ready to tear it apart when from seemingly out of no where a bomb hit its shoulder.
Carter lifted his head and saw to his surprise, the Aero Rescue Zord.
"Joel!" Carter exclaimed.
Joel maneuvered the zord round the demon making it flail its arms wildly as if trieing to swat a fly. The green ranger dropped a couple more water bomba, Joel smiled slightly then flicked on his communicator.
"Carter...Do you read me" Joel said struggled to keep awake.
Carter scrambled with the controls and spoke into his communicator "Joel what are you doing your too badly injured to be out here"
Carter listened as Joel familiar laughter crackled back "Don't worry about me boy, I got this whole situation covered"
Carter blinked then then answered back "What are you talking about?"
Joel struggled to keep his zord airborne evading the demons huge claws but he managed to keep it together in order to speak "We, found a weak spot on the back of it neck, all it needs is a big enough explosive to hit that area" Joel gripped his side, feeling the blood run down his hand.
Carter nodded "Well help me get the lifeforce megazord to its feet and we'll finish it off together"
He watched as the Areo Rescue shot round the demons arms and went behind its back. The red ranger began to press buttons but he felt himself becoming weak "I'm losing strength" the ranger thought "The zord is draining to much energy from me" his hands slid from the controls and fell by his side. Carter's head lolled back and he watched Joel.
The green ranger watched as the life force megazord fell back to the ground "you just sit back and watch Carter" he said. he pressed a couple buttons and his zords main thrusters began to power up. As carter watched this he realised what Joel was about to do.
He struggled to his communicator and spoke into it "Joel, don't do this, we can think of another way"
Joel shook his head laughing, he reached up and flicked off his communicator ,Carter's desperate plees suddenly being cut short. the green ranger the looked at the demon who was walking slowly towards the life force megazord, he gripped the controls and he breathed deeply.
"It ends now" he thought bringing his fist down on the thruster controls, the Aero Zord's thruster's burst to life, Joel smiled as the zord sped towards the demon at an incredible speed.
Joel ripped off his helmet and threw it to the side he looked up and saw a photo of he and and his wife angela, a tear escaped his eye and began sliding down his cheek, he reached up and brushed the picture with his finger.
"I'll see you soon, baby" he said looking back to the demon. Carter desperately tried the communicator "Joel! Joel! answer me!"
Joel drew the zord nearer and then drove it right into the demons neck, the zord exploded on impact. Carter watched the zord crash into the demon, cpmpletely helpless, he reached out and screamed "JOEL!"
The demon felt the crash on its neck then began to feel a strange sensation, suddenly its neck exploded in a fusion of blood and bone, The red ranger fell backin shock as the demon's head flew fro its body rolling onto the ground.
Carter slipped off his helmet and removed the tubing from his neck, he looked down at what little remained of the Aero Rescue Zord.

Well in Power Rangers Elemental Velocity, my character lifted my Red Ranger into the air by the neck, and started choking him. In my story Mars is a very wide villain, and not exactly fit. Mars tells him to die. My Red Ranger chokes out "Feel the burn..."
He sets Mars's hands on fire, and than his whole body ignites as a wave of flame is sent throughout the city.

to me, a good death scene would be the death of a very developed character, one viewers/readers love, to offer that dramatic (or traumatic) effect and twist to the story.

Tommy stood high on the mountain the sky began to change to a brighter color. A light force shined down on Tommy, and began striking him with waves of power. The light crystal began to combine its energy and power with the beam. Tommy began crying on in pain, it was powerful. He felt scared and alone, he cried out. Tears were in his eyes and then. He thought he heard Kimberly’s voice. “Kim?” said Tommy softly, as he cried out again. He had heard her voice she was reaching out to him. She believed in him. Tommy nodded his head he had to do this. He needed to do this for everyone, for his friends, for the other ranger teams, for Aquatar , for Andros and the others, and lastly for his wife and unborn child. He would save them all at the cost of his life. Tommy raised his arms up higher feeling his very life leave him.
Billy and Xantara watched down below watching the light crystals power. Both of them could feel it was very powerful the sky seemed to light up around them. “You can’t let him sacrifice his life,” Xantara turned looking a Billy with that distant look she always gives him. “What is Kim going to tell Tommy’s unborn child about what happened to his father?” Billy demanded.
“That his father sacrificed his life for us all, to ensure his child would have a future,” she told him. Billy put his head down. He didn’t know how to respond to that. So he didn’t he remained silent. He looked back up at Tommy. He would stay here until the end. He would not let Tommy die alone. Not after everything Tommy has and is doing for them all.
Tommy was screaming out from the pain he was feeling. The light crystal was extremely powerful, more powerful then anything he has ever felt. Tommy closed his eyes, and began to see his whole life before his eyes in just seconds. Growing up, meeting the rangers, finding his brother and later his brothers death, along with the death of past friends. His wedding came into mind, Kimberly how much he loved her. And the last piece he saw was his children. Tommy felt at ease and finally let go. It was time.
This is my fan fic, which I posted on my web site and on ff.net its called.

Exactly. People think that a death has to be all show, as I said in my comment which Crys ignored. In fact, flashy deaths deaths suck, as I also pointed out, because the writer tries too hard to throw it in your face. A character's death can be as simple as falling and getting a concussion provided the death has MEANING. When a villain dies, there does need to be a deal of struggle involved, but making the death as gruesome as possible is too much and makes the death seem lame and unnecessary rather than "kick-ass." :o

Oh my God dude. I'm not trying to see which was "meaningful". I'm trying to see which ones both looked good and were played out nicely. In this case, I'm looking for the show, not the meaning.
excerpt from PR: Olympia #18: Insanity. The Intar-Mintar battle/death scean
"“OLYMPIC LANCE!” shouted Mintar.
Intar look out his Olympic sword, and both charged at each other. Both blocked each other’s first attack.
“We finish this now!” said Intar.
“Indeed!” replied Mintar. He swung at Intar’s legs, but he jumped into the air and flipped over Mintar’s head. He slashed his sword across Mintar’s back.
“Face it, I’m the better fighter” Intar boasted.
“We’ll see about that!” replied Mintar. He twirled his lance and struck Intar several times, who fell on his back. His lance then vanished, and was replaced by Mintar’s sword. Intar struggled to get up, but Mintar just attacked again and again.
Mintar stood over his defeated opponent. But he would not stop with defeat. He raised has sword, and slashed Intar’s morpher off his wrist. The black ranger demorphed. Intar rose to his feet, bracing for the worst.
“It ends now” said Mintar. He took his sword, and rammed it through Intar’s heart. The black ranger looked down at the wound, then up at Mintar.
Slowly losing awareness, he said “You have bested me. I could have asked for no greater an opponent” and with that, the black ranger fell to the ground, dead. It took several seconds from Mintar to realized what he had just done. He had killed one of his friends in cold blood. He fell to his knees, shocked. He might have as well killed himself. The spell was broken. And with that, the spell weakened among the other rangers. Etri looked over at Mintar...wan what would have been her boyfriend if things had happened differently. She walked over, followed by the other rangers. Mintar wasn’t even crying. His face had no emotion, and he was as still as a statue. Nothing was going through his head. The other rangers just looked at the dead body, shocked."

Are Mintar and Intar both rangers?
Are Mintar and Intar both rangers?
Yes.
Intar: former Black Ranger (former as he's dead now)
Mintar: Blue Ranger

I'm doing a death scene now in my Dekaranger OVA. i have been writing the scene into the story for the past few weeks. death scenes are hardest to do cause they need to be able to generate some emotion from the reader.

Here is an edited death scene. For the full scene, head to: http://www.rangerboard.com/showthread.php?t=41121
During the battle
The Batsuroid channels an EMP wave throughout the factory. The Metrocop suits start to malfunction.
Muted slow motion shot. The Batsuroid shoots a laser blast at the SPD, which is blocked by a struggling Metrocop Red. The suit is badly damaged. He falls down unconscious, as his helmet drops off. The others watch in horror, as the camera shows the look on the faces of each one of them. Sparks start flying out of the suits of the other two Metrocops.
The metal outer protective layer is burnt through, and the leather inner bodysuit is burnt through. The helmet's visor is cracked, and the antennae broken.
From the Metrocop Volvo Tiffany screams in fear.
Tiffany: No! Gary!
She presses a 'Medical Alert' button on the dashboard and runs out of the vehicle.
Tiffany: John! Clifford!
The two Metrocops turn and look at her, weak from the EMP wave.
Tiffany: Retreat! Take Gary! Let the Dekaranger take over!
The two nod and with much difficulty, carry their badly injured colleague out of the battle zone.
A cut scene from the main Dekaranger battle
Inside the hospital, the remaining three officers from Metrocop department is waiting anxiously outside the Emergency Room. Gary is being operated on inside. A sobbing Tiffany is being consoled by Clifford.
Voice: Excuse me!
A surgeon and a few more nurses rush into the ER.
After the battle (The main death scene)
In the hospital, the five run towards Tiffany, John and Clifford as Meng Yeow slowly walks. John and Clifford are wearing bandages for their injuries sustained when their suits malfunctioned earlier.
Meng Yeow: How is he?
Tiffany: Sir. He is still inside there.
The ER light goes off, and they frantically scramble towards the door. The surgeon and two nurses come out of the room.
Clifford: Doctor! How is he?
The surgeon shakes his head. A wave of depression falls all over the officers as the surgeon walks away.
Meng Yeow: He died in the line of duty.
Basil: He died while protecting us! Weijie, don't you see? This is why I had to destroy that Batsuroid!
Weijie: If I had known.... I would have contributed too!
Nicholas: Damn it..
He kicks the plastic chairs.
Rebecca: Relax guys... This is not the time to be angry... I'm sure Gary wouldn't want to see all this too.
The stretcher with the dead body is pulled out of the ER. The nine look at the body with grief. Tiffany pulls away the cloth, hugs Gary's head and cries out.
Tiffany: Gary! Why did you leave me so early?
Yi Qin whispers to John.
Yi Qin: They were?
John: Engaged. Due to be married in two months.
Yi Qin looks on and sees the pain and grief in Tiffany's eyes.
The aftermath
The next day, the SPD and the now-defunct Metrocop division visits the cemetery, along with a ceremonial parade. They look at the tombstone. It bears the words 'GARY ANG (1980 - 2004)' above 'HE WAS LOVED'. Tiffany lays down flowers on the grave, as the Guard-of-Honour salute the grave with their gleaming swords. The Police Commissioner is also there, and he gives a speech.
Commissioner: Corporal Gary Ang. He was a fine young man, and served in Training Command as a Field Instructor before being selected as a Metrocop. And he served well there too, until his untimely demise at the hands of an Alienizer. So saying, Corporal Gary Ang will be posthumously promoted to the rank of Staff Sergeant, for his contributions to the Force, and his role in helping to fight the Alienizers.
The screen fades to black.
that is my opinion of a death scene. would like to hear others' views.
